WTF I subscribed to your channel a few month ago and now I realised you have 370 and not 370k! Your content is so amazing I really hope you get a ton of subscribers in the next year.
Thank you, I appreciate that and yeah... here's hoping. Season 4's just getting started, and I think it's gonna be the best line-up of videos yet, so should draw in more viewers. In the meantime, feel free to spread the word! Next video will be the Homefront Season Pass review.
Enjoyed your review, I just recently decided to try it out on sale and so far it's enjoyable. I haven't gotten very far in it, just got past elmtree but from what I hear the dlc has better experience. Either way the guns feel good and it can be challenging even on normal. The graphics are very nice to me minus the pop in at times and the music so far hasn't wowed me but I would give this game probably like a 7. Considering I enjoy far cry kind of games with taking territory and safe houses etc, I don't see the side missions bringing the game down later and the terminator vibes I get at nights with the blimps and setting is pretty cool too.
Wished they had more guns, especially Korean weapons considering NK invaded America but apparently they all got rid of their AK copies for American M4 carbines.
I liked the airships, honestly. It's just, the menacing buzzing noises they made as they passed overhead kind of reminded me of Hunter-Killers from Terminator, and the Red Zone at night was genuinely the closest I felt we ever got to the proper Terminator future war experience until Terminator Resistance released.
Happy to please, and thanks for subscribing! You'll be excited to hear then that one of the games coming up early next month will be an FMV game with similarly -stunning- acting.
Counterpoint: this is a top five game for me. I've played it did or seven times through with the DLC. I don't know why; it just hits me flush! Interestingly, I prefer the red zones, although the yellow zones offer a nice break. Nothing you said is wrong, just different from my experience. DAMN I hope that Terminator Resistance is something like this!
I played the original Homefront by Kaos Studios and found it a short very linear experience which was disappointing after playing Frontlines Fuel of War, an excellent game I still play today.
I just finished it on ps4, still a few minor bugs but I liked the slower more deliberate gunplay, also the world/atmosphere really stood out to me. The voice acting also ranges rrom perfect to horrible, overall id guess if it were released the way it is now would've easily been around 70 on metacritic and i dont regret picking it up at all.
Oi dude, you should totally review Frontlines: Fuel of War, Kaos' first game. I actually really enjoyed the non-linear aspect where it actually felt like a war and you spawned as an entirely different soldier when you died which I found really interesting.
Seriously. Nobody comments on how this is the most realistic looking game ever? Most in terms of character realism and second to Hunt: showdown in environment and atmospherics?
The graphics engine is impressive, but it's not the greatest showcase for human faces IMO - that credit goes to Injustice 2, which is one of the few games I can think of that gets -eyes- right along with everything else.
Yeah, but just look at 4:23, never seen dynamic lighting on a character in that level before... and their faces just looks near realistic with their clothes so crisp in detail... Injustice 2 is great but they just have better models.
I actually liked the Red Zones, it reminded me of the Terminator with all the destroyed building. Plus that blimp made you perform hit and run tactics. Driving was fun, (but admittedly buggy) and it was cool hearing gunfire in the distance and seeing Resistance and Nork forces shooting each other. Though I do wish they put more missions in it like Yellow Zone. Being able to set an ambush and blowing up a convoy would’ve been badass, or even just sabotaging supplies and seeing armored soldiers becoming rarer. I agree with your assessment of the red zone when it comes to lacking content, though I personally hope if it ever does get a sequel they just expand on it more, not cut it out
You are a little hard on the game. Yes it had some flaws. But they were ironed out to a large part. If you play it on the One X is even gets the enhanced treatment. It looks pretty good. Is surprisingly well thought-out and is actually fun and interesting. And has a nice patriotic flare to it. I played it a half a year before Far Cry 5 came out.
I love the Setting for homefront alot and i hope they make Another one that can fix all the problems they had in revolution. Too bad they didnt execute it too well. If the dlc’s where the main campaign this wouldve been so much better because in the dlc u have a voice and u do missions that are in different places. The dlc’s where basically better than the main game altough the main game isnt trash its still not better than the dlc
As someone who first played this the weekend after launch I think you exaggerate the bug issues. My feeling regarding technical issues are pretty simple. As long as it runs at least as well as Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas do on my PS3 its tolerable. Homefront the Revolution was never remotely close to being that bad. I think people for some reason just became overly sensitive about bugs around the time this came out. I would rather have a buggy game I can play while the developers work to fix the problems now then a bug free launch six months or a year later. I pre-ordered this because I knew I was getting a PS4 for my birthday that week and correctly suspected it would be the closest thing to Freedom Fighter 2 we would get for a long time. I usually ran a Submachine Gun and a Shotgun with an Assault Rifle refit as a Mine Launcher or a Battle Rifle refit to launch Fireworks as mini-Rockets in the third slot once unlocked. Finally a game that let me make my enemies feel the fear I felt the numerous times I saw a firework still shooting sparks falling from the sky towards me as a little kid. I swear those things had an AI guiding them or someone was aiming them remotely. And you're a Resistance fighter so IMO you shouldn't have tons of extra resources.
I like this game. Its not great, but it scratches an itch for me. I enjoy it. Even the red zones, but the yellow zones are much better, but i also like the while "warzone" feel to the red zones.
I just started this game about 40 min ago and I'm already fed up and bored. I'm all for a good story and developing charecters but I'm so bored of walking to objectives and getting really stale unskipable cut scenes. I just want to shoot some shit and get a lil feel for the game but it's more concerned with slowlying it down. I had to stop playing just to find a review so I could vent. I'll give it a few more mins but it's already lost me tbh
honestly, bought it few days ago, hours before steam sales started, but by that time i was already behind the refund mark and yet i found it worth even by that time worth every undiscounted euro for it is giving me a far cryish experience the far cries i played (5,3,BD,ND) couldn´t
Got it for $5.99 on the Xbox store came with all the DLC honestly can’t complain game is definitely playable with some fun content and overall I like the concept so it’s not to hard to get into for me at least.
I think the game was fun. Yes it has some problems but I still have alot of fun at times playing. Its just very underrated by many people. Its a game with potential

Unabridged Gamer I played both and Far Cry 5 ironically takes alot from this game's Gameplay feel, storytelling is done exactly the same aka No main Character lol, Doing random missions while cliche characters speak "to you". @@Joeki11a I dunno what to tell you - that sort of thing drives me nuts too. I can stand a LIGHT character presence, as you're of course going to impart some personality from your own playstyle, but the silent protagonist is still really overused in gaming and rarely to a title's benefit.

The Fuel of War single-player campaign was strangely satisfying to me! And when the nukes hit during the tank section? Damn.
I loved the original Homefront. Yes, the single player. Was that just me?
Good stuff man! The game is $8 right now on PSN, and am debating picking it up.

What platform did you play it on?
It’s nice to have 60fps on series x
did you play this on a potato?
I'm not really sure I follow? If you're referring to the graphics, UA-cam compression + OBS compression downgrades visual fidelity considerably.

Better than it was at launch, that's for certain. I played on PC though, so can't speak to consoles.
Its playable like 30-40 fps mostly 30

Agreed, but um, future reference, mate? 'Actually'

No, it's an exclusively standalone mode separate from the main campaign.

It's not running at 20 FPS. UA-cam compression might be having an issue.
