"You're never gonna be perfect, you're dead at the end, so have fun."
such a great quote
As long as you're not a total piece of shit you're already doing better than most. Take a load off.
Stanhope is one of the all time greats.
No.
Yo Dmitriy.... Go back to squalor you fucking nothing. Have fun waiting for bread.
Uh.....if Stanhope isn't one of the "greats" who is?
Dane Cook?
He so great no one will remember.
His rants are some the best in the comedy world
Doug has taught us all the value of knowing how unimportant you are. Thank you sir.
Holy shit his impersonation of her was spot on
mitchell ray I agree.
He gives oddly respectful vibe for his mocking tone.
INTP Are like that
Łukasz Padzik [ZeeKat] I Like that, that’s where the money @
"You're never going to be perfect and you're dead at the end, so have fun." - Doug Stanhope
Hennigan admires Stanhope and Stanhope respects Hennigan. A perfect match.
Dave Attell is at the top of the heap of comedians. Yes. Doug is fantastic. They are the best! Definitely!
The teardrop joke = BRILLIANT.
the ending went dark just like I wanted
Looks like I'm postponing my suicide for another 30 minutes. Thanks a lot for hosting Stanhope on your platform!
Comparing it to some typical old looking MTV show is the epitome of spot on
"Once you have to do something you'll fuckin hate it".
- Doug Stanhope
Exactly why I've always hated the phrase "Dream job", it's an oxymoron.
I audibly yelled WHAT THE FUCK! When I saw this. Stanhope is the greatest comic working and is a legend.
Hugely overlooked I think, but I guess it's a good thing
13vandea I know, it was so amazing when I saw him live. My vlog with Stanhope is the featured vid on my channel.
Reminds of a moment in a Seinfeld episode where a fan of Elaine's father, a writer, says, "I always thought he deserved a bigger audience." She responds, "I'm not so sure he wants one."
Podcasts, writes books, tours; would you like him to make you a sandwich too?
Check out that baiting.org. He's the top contributor, and easy to find. Some ruthless, and hilarious chat threads.
this was way stiffer than it should have been, you got a comedy legend in the house. let me host this joint.
GOD DAMMIT DOUG STANHOPE YOU ARE A FUCKING LEGEND!!!
The honesty makes my actual bones hurt...
I salute anyone who brings me more Doug. Thanks.
this is the only second video from the build series ive seen, the first being the interview with Bill Burr. And both times the interviewers were constantly fumbling through the questions and were noticeably awkward when Burr and Stanhope were just being themselves.
Same here. Bill's interviewer was much better at rolling with the punches. Also, different chairs for this interview.
If you type in 'stewart lee doug stanhope', this is the first video that comes up. I watched the first half ages ago and wondered if Stewart's actually mentioned? Or whether it's just returning this result because Stewart Lee is referred to as a 'Comedians' Comedian' much like Stanhope?
Dave attel is so great
Dave Attell is the shit. Stanhope is the shit.
Stanhope is the bigger shit cause he didn't quit.
Attell didn't quit, I saw him back in March.
Or do you mean quit drinking?
quit drinking/quit being good. Like jim jefferies (;
He definitely didn't quit being good.
*_Doug Stanhope is the Comedian’s Comedian’s Comedian’s Comedian’s Comedian_*
Could have taken 2 more hours of this
Dom's Sketch Cast Love your channel man
Mitch Hedberg is a Comedian who Comedian's Comedians love.
dough stanhope is so good that he knows dave attell is the best
1:35 .... i love how both Doug and Bill burr criticized the set on that show.
BRRUAAARGH she does my head in... good thing Doug picked up the ball
Lynn Cinnamon ASMR Whispers subbed cuz you love Stanhope
tear drop tattoo above the eye like you killed someone in prison upside down LMAO
This acts as a great ad for his podcast, which I love.
Stanhope's No Refunds was what woke me. Stanhope also has the holy grail of comedy stories. The story about getting laid as a result of a Big Poppy homerun is unmatched.
stanhope saved my life all the best dude
raw and sincere as always, true frustration with the way things are at levels beyond ordinary comprehension
1 & 2 for me are Doug and Dave Attell. No particular order.Doug is a Great Story teller with Bizarre topics.Dave's so quick and hysterical with rapidfire jokes. If I were ever to be around him all day I would laugh like a mental patient all day.Whats with that Filthy Uncut Scotsman?
Does anyone here know a hot, happening stand up comedy director that you wanna give a shout out to? Exactly
*_#brianhenniganishotandhappening_*
Lol...this is like a corporate idea of a casual internet show.
That lady totally ruins this interview.
That close was absolutely brilliant, keeping it fucking raw.
Gotta laugh at Hennigan saying "either way plow through" with that get him off the stage look in his filthy eyes.
Notice at the end how he became as masterful at the insults as Don Rickles?
If someone else said the same thing you cringe but when they say it, it's hilarious.
"You're never gonna be perfect, you're dead at the end, so have fun." - true wisdom!
"I always want to quit. Who doesn't want to quit their job here? Who really feels like, 'Every day I go to work is a joyous occasion cause I do what I love.' Once you start doing what you love you fucking hate it." ~ Doug Stanhope 19:00
I dont have alot of friends and i also love brendon walsh and found him
Before i knew him and stanhope were boys
she's the most akward thing ive witnessed since the last time i watched this video
Hey Doug, it was the dark backward.
stanhope is legend
That tie is fire
Doug Stanhope is one of the foulest mouthed, graphically uncouth, tactless, shit stirring social commentators I have EVER had the DISPLEASURE of loving with ALL of my heart. I love you, Dougie, Doug, Doug! When this shallow, horrid, midget-minded world judges u too harshly, takes away your sponsorship deals and gives laud to some new, trendy less-poignant comedian....I live in Clearlake, Ca....waiting.
I'm coming!
Kim Muasau random..but you seem chill af. Have a good one.
what sponsorship deals?
Stanhope is my favourite comic that feels like he died 5 years ago.
That intro makes me think Stanhope lost a poker bet with Dave Attell.
#seahag
looks like we got ourselves a reader.
indoor gangster whatcha readin for?
Not what I’m reading, but what I’m reading for.
- Bill Hicks
Wherever Doug is, theres always an ambulance parked outside. Fact.
apparently not when Bingo cracked her head...
They probably had to call another ambulance for that.
22:05
Doug kicks it up a gear!
Doug is a hero of the people.
he's a pretty healthy looking alcoholic.
skim milk apparently..
Maybe to look at but for me this was hard to watch. Booze has definitely taken its toll on Mr Doug Stanhope. He's not sharp as he was, he rambles on about shit and worst of all he's not funny. One if the funniest wittiest shows I've seen Doug do was a JRE podcast where Joey Diaz was a guest as well. Redban was there also but laid low for most of it. Doug took mushrooms before hand and the highlight was when he asked Joey if he took his change jar off his dresser. That's the best Stanhope right there in that 3 hour podcast. This guys just a babbling drunk that can't think straight.
@@BUSTRCHERRI It's the same guy dumb a** He was a babbling drunk in 1990. Think he will die a babbling drunk, The James Joyce of comedy
He's giving half ass answers in an interview he doesn't want to be in.
I see Stanhope first videoed set from 1990 is on here, mullet and all!
I gotta say...the lady doing the interview has all the personality of a table cloth. It's like the class clowns got sent to the principal's office.
mrcinemajunky table cloth. I like that:)
'tears on your face ABOVE your eye.. like you killed someone upside down in prison" hahaha
"I think I'd sum up our relationship in one word, which is: Profitable." ~ Brian Hennigan 5:33
how bad did he want a Cigarette lol
"I'm not comfortable now" no one is doug
Hilarious. Go Dougie, go!
AOL ????? Are they in Ford's theater?
Dave Attell
why did I say this?
ahhh of course
I love Dave Attell too. Insomniac is the funniest street trash tv ever!
love doug
Dave Attell is fucking hilarious!!!
Doug is so savage, i love him.
Questions? No it's the Doug Stanhope show!
Stanhope! 😆
I'm a comedian..Look at me..listen to me.
Holy shit i've never been in a convertible before
The dude with his hand on his face at 26:something is thinking to himself, "I shouldn't have eaten 12 tabs."
vineofthedead hahaha thanks for that amusing point out. 26:41
Doug Stanhope!!!!!!!!!!!
Doug doesn't use the word "modicum" enough anymore.
i.e. "Doug does not offer a 'modicum' of give-a-fuck in this interview
I've been waiting for him to start calling people medicants again. Has yet to happen.
This interview is a trainwreck. I've always liked trainwrecks.
I love the interviewer. So dead it makes it feel like a better produced podcast.
If you are really into what I do, you really don't have a lot of friends. Loooooool
He's right!
Wait AOL is still around? That's cool, aim is where it all started :p I used to love it in middle school just chatting away with everyone. Only friends though, didn't fuck with chatrooms
NYC is access, to everything. It's necessary.
Fuck new york.
hannigan has brown hair!
my dreams are shattered
yeah, I'd pass on a book by her.
11:25 a few pixels of dougs horrible, twisted soul fly away.
She's writing a book about comedy?
Stanhope is a comic legend but a mainstream morning AOL interview with an uptight interviewer is not exactly his scene ...
The way Stanhope nurses that drink makes it looks more like a prop than him being the raging alcoholic he advertises.
Google offered to sell to AOL for 1-million dollars and they refused, AOL are dip shits of the highest order
My personal opinion of their juggernaut foresight
clap clap clap clap
Chick doing the interview needed to rehearse her questions a bit more (or do a couple shots) but thankfully Doug and Brian saved it.
Doug Stanhope is such a Doug Stanhope.
9:07
40 people are UCB fans.
Doug is like the Insane Clown Posse of stand up.
i can't believe all these obsequious comments did not include the adjective 'GENIUS'.
Have i slipped through a youtube wormhole?
Someone somewhere has to be described as genius if nana laughed. Its youtube comment law
B.T.W. doug stanhope's mimickry of the host was GENIUS.....the fucking seahag
What's up with little Felix Rodriguez at 26:42? Is Stanhope making him sad by putting sludgepot NYC in its rightful place or what? What a fucking diva
Explicit language?! Doug Stanhope?! WHAT?!!!
At 16:45 did Ricky Gervais walk by?
Doug's comedy has taken me to many uncomfortable and interesting places. He's definitely helped me to see things from a different perspective. And for that I'm grateful.
I think you misunderstood what I was saying. Changing opinions on things is a sign of a healthy and functional mind. Being able to see things in different ways, from new perspectives opens the mind up to new alternatives and ways of thinking about things.
Being exposed to other people's opinions, even if they make you uncomfortable gets you to think critically and question things you thought you knew before. So all that helps you expand your knowledge and exercise your brain.
Constantly living in a bubble and only being exposed to opinions and views that are within the realm you are used to because you are comfortable and used to those views results in the complete opposite. Your views will be fixed and your mind will not expand to new possibilities.
A really intellectual, thought provoking and edgy commit will take you to those places where you're pushed beyond the limit, or what you thought was your limit. Into places that are uncomfortable. Make you think, and make you question things.
Looks like they changed the set's chairs after Bill Burr roasted the show over them. Anyone see that?
Boy oh boy! Can she ask one fucking question without stammering?! I have no clue how some people get these jobs...
Because they belong to a certain group that runs shit.
Wow. Stanhope hates New York more than even Lovecraft
