4:57 In that same bar there is a beer with the name Red Velvet, a reference to the movie Blue Velvet (1986). In that movie there is a scene where the protagonist hides in a closet and through the grids he watches a sex scene, this scene was directly referenced in Silent Hill 2 when you look at Pyramid Head behind a closet while he hurts some mannequin.
The women’s bathroom in the prison still has the hidden jumpscare. To trigger it you have to have James try to open the locked stall at the end once this time then leave. Edit: correction
@@TimurSokolsimple. It's the same in the original silent hill 2, when I got to that bathroom in the remake I instantly tried to trigger it, and I was so happy that Bloober did it right
Strange, I just tried to open all the stalls once each and it triggered for me. Heard quite a few random screams and strange voices that only happened once but were never in the original.
2:26 the sign above the door is a detail as well. Not only does Lakeview Hotel have James and Mary's "special place" but the hotel was burnt down by a malfunctioned heater, which in the original has "I'm Johnny, and I make sparks" written on the back of it.
In the remake, I think it says something along the lines of "I'm Johnny, and I'm real hot," or something to that effect. Slightly different, but still eludes to what it's done.
Another neat little detail: on the PC version your RGB keyboard and mouse change color throughout the game. Mouse represents health like on the Duelsense, but the keyboard changes color depending on environment. e.g. foggy wisps for when you're outside, flame colors for the Otherworld, glowing red when you're on the save screen, and also certain colors for cutscenes. Not important for gameplay, but it's nice that Blooper went the extra mile to set the mood.
When you shine your flashlight at the roaches crawling around, they'll scurry away from the light but when you toggle the light off, they return to their normal position.
The letter is blank because it's in his " head." and as you go forward, his eyes open. This remake is so perfect. I hope blooper team will be the team remaking sh1, but it's a lot of work. The iconic scene with Lisa when she starts bleeding. As iconic as the zombie scene from re1
It’s indeed a lot of work, but I don’t mind waiting for sh 1 and 3 remake. I like games that have delays yet complete than a rushed game and incomplete plus full of bugs.
The blood trail left by the crawling lying figures is such a great touch. Looks great, loved this remake so much. Usually I struggle to get through horror games but the SH2 remake was so incredible that I persevered despite being terrified many times (the prison alone took me multiple days to get through as I had to keep taking breaks to calm down). The single frame in the movie theater is such a great little thing to add too for those who have beaten the game. One of my favorite little details from the OG silent hill 2 was when you first pick up the radio and you get a static message that's hard to discern what's being said, UNLESS you've beaten the game. Then you can piece together what is being said and everything becomes clear that there were hints to the game's ending from the very beginning.
I wish they are because silent hill 3 is the real deal. SH2 has a beautiful story and a deepness in psychology that is not even comparable to anything BUT SH3? That is just downright devilish horror that came straight from the pits of hell. That shit is cursed.
The attention to detail it´s insane. Angela´s nails are different as well, showing she bites her nails because they´re eaten up. You can really tell the developers put a lot of care into the visuals and scenario.
Thats the halo of the sun though, the seal of metatron is a triangle inside a circle, very prominent on the first game, third game only has it as a "useless piece of junk".
She isn't real, like Maria. The real Lisa died long ago from an overdose. She is a manifestation of alessa as well as all the other monsters. Contrary to the movie, she was seen by alessa as a mother figure because she was the only kind person who took care of her. As you go through the game, the demon power increase and the dark side as well. There is no place for such things in his world, then she dterts realizing she's not real, she's like all the other monsters. In the dove section of the prison (basement) in sh2 remake, you can find a drawing, drawn by a prisoner in a cell. It's like a circle, half-erased (the same kind found in silent hill 1 and 2) and when you stare at it you start hearing a deep demon voice speaking an unknown language, it's like if it's calling you and when you go away, it stops, that is so eerie.
There's another detail some ppl pointed out when James asks Angela if she has seen a little girl around. It triggers her and you can hear the flames in the background
I despise the inflationary use of the word "masterpiece" nowadays. But this remake truly deserves this label. It is a masterpiece. It outclasses even the RE2 Reimageining by a mile imo.
I am very happy the silent hill 2 remake turned out great Not like the original (models and voice actors )but it’s great nonetheless Now what really needs a remake is silent hill 1
I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised, and they exceeded my expectations. My only gripe is with some of the voice acting being flat for Angela and Maria. But I like how they altered and improved the narrative overall, especially with Eddy.
I also noticed the room where you get the red button for the jukebox is a reference to sh4 bathroom apartment with its layout and it having a hole in the wall next to the toilet and sink
I thing that for some reason blew me away was that when at the saving screen, your actually looking from the red square and out. What I mean is, at some point in my game, Maria came running up from behind, and I saw her do it from the red screen.
The lights on the controller are to be honest, quite common in games with them changing depending on your health or certain environmental situations etc. As for firing the gun around Maria and leaving her with enemies, this is all part of the game anyway, same as breaking windows near her. He reacts because it is all part of the ending you get. The more you do stuff like this, the more you will get a certain ending. Same with looking at the letter or other personal items. It's clever, but they are just giving your physical signs in advance of what ending you are going to get. There are lots of little touches in the game that are nods to the original (the outfit in the wardrobe for instance), and I am sure you have covered some in your previous video, but with the changes they have made (the Eddie/Pizza scene being a primary example) it is nice that they at least acknowledge the scene they cut. Also the level of detail is fantastic. Angela having blatantly chewed nails is perfect example of that.
4:55, also regarding Jacob's Ladder? In the movie theater, there's a movie poster of a film called "Return to Owl Creek Bridge." The 1890 short story "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" by Ambrose Bierce (and eventual adapted 1961 short film by Robert Enrico) was a major source of inspiration for Jacob's Ladder. If you've read "Owl Creek Bridge," then you know *why* it was an inspiration...but I don't want to spoil anything. Either way, just another great easter-egg/hat-tip from Bloober Team.
Місяць тому+5
the letter from mary gets blank right after killing eddie, she probably got dissappointed because you just killed another human being again
3:03 - isn't that the same room where Heather and Douglas stayed. Room 106, right? 4:20 - this is just like in the original game - after the fight with Eddie the page becomes blank, after that revelation scene in the hotel room there is nothing inside the envelope.
The way I saw it is that its the age old tell that someone is lying, when you try to look someone in the eye who's lying to you and they look away, because its "us" looking at him. It's not 100% an accurate tell obviously but its an old belief; but I could see him not wanting to look at himself being the case too.
James jacket also shows your health - the more blood is on the back the closer to dying he is, once you drink a healing item the blood disappears/evaporates.
We always see Eddie's breath Knowing Silent Hill changes itself to each specific person, i have always hazard a guess that SH for Eddie is cold, frosty and icy like himself I base this off of Angela's iconic line knowing she realized James couldnt see what she saw. Silent Hill for her is always on fire and for James, theres constant moisture
I'm so glad they succeeded with the remake. Nearly guarantees they'll be tapped to make further remakes. They've shown that they can not only recreate with respect to the originals, but also know where to improve upon things which would be excellent to bring the first game, third, etc. to modern audiences as those games do have some glaring mechanical flaws, limited voice-acting, etc. but still had solid sales back in the day.
The room with the SH3 symbol is also the same room featured in SH3 where Heather is staying when she arrives in Silent Hill. The blood effects really impressed me, especially the injured Lying Figures leaving blood streaks as they scurry around the floor.
Detail 3 - A small addition. If you are playing on PC and you have an RGB Razer keyboard, it will change colors according to what character is in the cutscene, how you interact with items, if you get hit, and it also has two ambient lighting modes, one for Otherworld and one for fog world. And, if you have an RGB Razer mouse as well, it becomes an indicator for your health status, starting at green and getting progressively more red the more damage you take.
I've never played the original so idk if it's new, but when you find the grave room, James' and Eddie's look more neat like they were professionally dug for a coffin to be lowered, while Angela's looks sloppy like it was dug by a shovel just enough to fit her body. She doesn't think she deserves a coffin.
It should be pointed out that the "Welcome Back" sign probably isn't an easter egg. We actually never see the front of Lakeview Hotel in the entire series, so you're actually in the back yard. It's incredibly unlikely a person would be officially entering the hotel from the back, so the sign is probably assuming anyone coming in from the back is literally returning and welcoming them back.

I saw the movie but never made the connection. Good catch!
The women’s bathroom in the prison still has the hidden jumpscare. To trigger it you have to have James try to open the locked stall at the end once this time then leave.
Edit: correction
I wonder how you found out about it
That shit happened to me
@@TimurSokolsimple. It's the same in the original silent hill 2, when I got to that bathroom in the remake I instantly tried to trigger it, and I was so happy that Bloober did it right
@@JvanEdits They really outdone themselves with this remake, they should be proud
@@Suicutie oooh that's what it is from, thank you so much !
I love when you start the game they kept the footprint “load” screen.
Symbol from silent hill 3. Bruh, thats the halo of the sun. The most prominent symbol in the series, the emblem of the order
The halo of the sun only appeared in one place in the og. It was drawn on the carpet where u fought the 2 spear wielding PH.
What he meant, is that appears in the same place as sh3 bro same place same apartment
I hope blooper team will be the team remaking sh1,
but it's a lot of work.
4:39 not only James fingernails but its entire body. The designers really appreciate the details!
Heather: Forget it. This is way too gross.... Who would even think of doing something so disgusting?".
James: 3:43
i shouldn't be this happy about seeing a guy stick his whole arm into a nasty toilet but i am delighted
If they remake Silent Hill 3, I hope they bring back that easter egg
That how many easter eggs are there with reference to Silent Hill 3 this may indicate that Bloober may be working on SH3 Remake 🤔
yah i think so just like a Re2 to re3 remake ❤
Oh man they better not make the same mistake as Capcom, we need an Silent Hill 1 remake ASAP, it's an goated game and cannot be missed!
I wish they are because silent hill 3 is the real deal. SH2 has a beautiful story and a deepness in psychology that is not even comparable to anything BUT SH3? That is just downright devilish horror that came straight from the pits of hell. That shit is cursed.
I feel like they’ll do it this way: silent hill 4 will be next but just labeled the room (like sh delta). I can see 1 and 3 being combined.
Yes! Did anyone else see the flyer in the shop window at the beginning of the game advertising the amusement park?
“Ale Peaks” is also another series call back for Twin Peaks. David Lynch’s discography in general also helped inspired the games.
Filmo-graphy ?
@@peterparcoeur5917 he does sound design, music composition and a painter. He does everything
Literally just beat this game the other day and I was so impressed and loved almost every moment. Definitely my favorite game of the year! 😊
I dont know if it's in the original, but Maria has additional dialogue if you break a ton of car windows around her
The attention to detail it´s insane. Angela´s nails are different as well, showing she bites her nails because they´re eaten up. You can really tell the developers put a lot of care into the visuals and scenario.
3:20 Regarding the seal of Metatron in the hotel bedroom. This is also the room in which you arrive with Douglas at Silent Hill in SH3
His hat is also on the chair in that room:)
Thats the halo of the sun though, the seal of metatron is a triangle inside a circle, very prominent on the first game, third game only has it as a "useless piece of junk".
I just love games with tons of detail like this. It makes a good multiple playthrough to see it yourself not to mention the multiple ending it has
In the original game, the letter also disappeared from the envelope once you got to the Hotel
When u're walking on a streets with Maria and suddenly break some window, she will be scared like "Ah, 🤯 James, why did u do that?"
During the game you could hear a sharp sigh a couple of times. It could be Marie's last breath.
There's another detail some ppl pointed out when James asks Angela if she has seen a little girl around. It triggers her and you can hear the flames in the background
I despise the inflationary use of the word "masterpiece" nowadays. But this remake truly deserves this label. It is a masterpiece. It outclasses even the RE2 Reimageining by a mile imo.
didnt know james bagged a baddy too. thats a nice detail.
Maria: Do you want blind me James?
I am very happy the silent hill 2 remake turned out great
Not like the original (models and voice actors )but it’s great nonetheless
Now what really needs a remake is silent hill 1
I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised, and they exceeded my expectations. My only gripe is with some of the voice acting being flat for Angela and Maria. But I like how they altered and improved the narrative overall, especially with Eddy.
1:22 HOW!? How did they code that?
Dynamic textures coded to display behind an enemy which matches a certain health state
Thats looks so cool wth
I also noticed the room where you get the red button for the jukebox is a reference to sh4 bathroom apartment with its layout and it having a hole in the wall next to the toilet and sink
I think one of my favourite things are the subtle and small details
I thing that for some reason blew me away was that when at the saving screen, your actually looking from the red square and out. What I mean is, at some point in my game, Maria came running up from behind, and I saw her do it from the red screen.
0:25 well if you don’t notice this you’re not gonna get the good ending
Your health determines your ending?
@@Stargazing_night_sky it contributes
@produccionesr7168 I'm definitely getting a bad ending then because I get hit a LOT lol
@@Stargazing_night_sky it's not the damage, but the time u stay hurted
@@produccionesr7168 ahh okay. I should be fine then because I heal a lot. The game is very generous with heals so
Every time you look at a clock in the game it always says 9:10
If i was all day killing monsters and touching horrible stuf my fingernails would be dirty too, poor James!
The best detail James didn’t noticed is Maria knowing his name without telling her.
James eyes gets more tired throughout the game. Underneath his eyes becomes red and sore.
I hope we get a chance to see silent hill 1 or 3 remade. I would love to see Heather Mason again.
4:55, also regarding Jacob's Ladder? In the movie theater, there's a movie poster of a film called "Return to Owl Creek Bridge."
The 1890 short story "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" by Ambrose Bierce (and eventual adapted 1961 short film by Robert Enrico) was a major source of inspiration for Jacob's Ladder. If you've read "Owl Creek Bridge," then you know *why* it was an inspiration...but I don't want to spoil anything.
Either way, just another great easter-egg/hat-tip from Bloober Team.
the letter from mary gets blank right after killing eddie, she probably got dissappointed because you just killed another human being again
maria's ending is james still becoming the monster he is.
We got fingernail details before GTA VI
Cringe
The fingernail details were also in Blair Witch (also from Bloober Team). So they can be seen as experts in dirty fingernails.
0:58 Maria will say the same line the first time you break any window
3:03 - isn't that the same room where Heather and Douglas stayed. Room 106, right?
4:20 - this is just like in the original game - after the fight with Eddie the page becomes blank, after that revelation scene in the hotel room there is nothing inside the envelope.
3:03 yes
What does the looking away from the player when saving symbolize?
Probably just the idea he can't look at himself after what he's done
That was when he realized he committed the murders so he cant look at himself anymore
deep meaning search syndrome
The way I saw it is that its the age old tell that someone is lying, when you try to look someone in the eye who's lying to you and they look away, because its "us" looking at him. It's not 100% an accurate tell obviously but its an old belief; but I could see him not wanting to look at himself being the case too.
Apparently we look to the left when we tell a lie if right-handed and vice-versa if left-handed
The "Welcome Back" sign was a good catch!
James jacket also shows your health - the more blood is on the back the closer to dying he is, once you drink a healing item the blood disappears/evaporates.
If you play the piano in the room you find Laura at the Lakeview Hotel, each note James play is a note of a known song too. I don't remember which was
This remake is amazing. 10/10 😊
I really appreciate the way you made this video spoiler-free
Loved this game so much, been a while I've felt the tension playing a game that I did Silent Hill 2 remake
first time with pyramid head you dont have to fight him , just kite him around he ll go away after few minutes
We always see Eddie's breath
Knowing Silent Hill changes itself to each specific person, i have always hazard a guess that SH for Eddie is cold, frosty and icy like himself
I base this off of Angela's iconic line knowing she realized James couldnt see what she saw. Silent Hill for her is always on fire and for James, theres constant moisture
1:04 those monsters are also wearing black wedge heels.
And a thong.
You can find a Heather jacket in town
They really did a good job on making this remake and I never thought about that
I'm glad you noted 13. I thought I'd encountered a bug, but if we both got it I'm sure it was a feature.
you may missed the tombstone of walter sullivan which another reference to silent hill : the room
The details they added are immaculate to say the least. Callbacks & deeper implications for the overall lore!
1:45 That "JAMES!" is the exact same voice that you can hear in the hotel when you are near the room 312
3:45 Okay, but why did my dog have to fart while this was happening 😭😭
I'm so glad they succeeded with the remake. Nearly guarantees they'll be tapped to make further remakes. They've shown that they can not only recreate with respect to the originals, but also know where to improve upon things which would be excellent to bring the first game, third, etc. to modern audiences as those games do have some glaring mechanical flaws, limited voice-acting, etc. but still had solid sales back in the day.
The first time I saved and James was looking away it really freaked me out. I don't know why it just did
The room with the SH3 symbol is also the same room featured in SH3 where Heather is staying when she arrives in Silent Hill. The blood effects really impressed me, especially the injured Lying Figures leaving blood streaks as they scurry around the floor.
3:24 May HAVE*
But great details.
0:44 also if you play the game on pc and have razer products it will also interact the same way
I've never played the original so idk if it's new, but when you find the grave room, James' and Eddie's look more neat like they were professionally dug for a coffin to be lowered, while Angela's looks sloppy like it was dug by a shovel just enough to fit her body. She doesn't think she deserves a coffin.
if there's one thing i've learned from big budget videogames, nothing is by accident.
The best remake games ever!
2:36 it's theme of Laura not theme of maria. Still cool though
and some people said Silent Hill already dead and woke
thank goodness those stinky incels don't matter
Wait, are you saying incel losers who haven’t played a video game yet are mad at a video game?!
prolly you, since this franchise is fallen in weak devs, not in DEI cunts
@@chasel.9704 yeah, i mean if that toxic anti fan community becomes large then they can kill the Silent Hill brand by eliminating it like Concord (i use Concord as an example not because i think Concord is good but because the online community can call on a lot of customers to give up buying a game)
lol so why was this getting a bad rep before it was dropped? So far from what I seen it looks amazing
Can someone please explain detail 12?? Why *does* James look away?? That’s after James comes to terms with what he did (I don’t wanna spoil it even tho I think 90% of the people watching this video knows lol)
