  • In the first half of the video, I went to the store to pick up a sealant to seal the leak in the fuel tank. Unfortunately, the first half of the video was accidentally erased. I attempted to seal the fuel tank but that didn’t work so I had no choice but to purchase a new one. On the bright side it will be a larger capacity.

    Good video brother yes your probably right over tight if you have a old intertube split it and put it on the pipe that the tank sits on and just tighten the nut a little more than snug on new tank and use blue lock tite on the threads keeps it from loosening up ride safe brother

    These tanks suck 😅😅😅 good attempt on repairing it. You will be happyer with a bigger tank. I would recommend removing your fenders and the cain gaurd, though. If one fails and gets sucked into the drive chain or you're wheels, it will throw you off the bike and could really hurt you. Overall, the bike looks solid 👌 😎 💯 🎉🎉🎉

    Idk if you ended up buying the same style tank but I used extra brackets and nuts so that all the clamping pressure is between the brackets instead of the pressure being from pulling against the studs. Worked great and the tank doesn't get shifted all over the place any more 😊

    Dig the video! I definitely would have tried JB weld instead of flex seal just because of the chemical resistance, just make sure the surface is sanded down to the bare metal and cleaned off with break cleaner or something similar! On my install video on my channel I show a trick to attach your gas tank in a way that won’t rip the studs off and you can tighten it a lot more so it doesn’t rotate! Hope this helps!

    JB weld is fuel resistant, and strong...sand the area clean of paint and such and decrease it with non-chlorinated brake cleaner, then give it 24 hours to cure properly. There's also a clear two-part epoxy meant for sealing fuel joints that I've successfully used to patch small rust holes in a tank, still holding up years later...
    oh look, JB weld has already been suggested. Excellent. You can tighten down those axle nuts more than that too...Hand at the end of the wrench handle, firm pressure - NOT reefing pressure, just firm - and if they keep backing out, get some blue lock-tight on the threads. Good to put on most nuts and bolts with a motorized bicycle(Don't use the red unless you absolutely have to or enjoy using a torch to heat your nuts up first).
    Assuming you didn't crash or anything, the tank was probably leaking from over-tightening of the nuts that hold it on...there's nothing there to stop the nut from trying to pull the stud out of the tank or tearing a hole where it's connected to the tank. Common issue. Various ways to prevent it, the simplest being to only snug the nut down enough to hold the tank in place.

    When you buy a tank sealant it should go INSIDE the tank.
    Putting anything outside of it won't work.
    It costs the same as a new tank and you will never have a problem again.

    Gas will eventually cause it to leak .JB weld it ...just sum tips get a rear mag rim and it will save you many headaches...coaster brakes lock up ,spokes get loose and move your wheel all the way back and buy a chain cutter and cut the chain to length cause those tensionerz get loose and go inward and mess up your rear wheel ....

    That's why you should buy yourself a nice wrench set all the way from 6 all the way up to 17 on metric side and then all the way from quarter inch all the way up to 78 to 11 16th on the standard side I got one of them so it's like that let me tell you it worked beautiful

    Hey guys, My carburetor is leaking gas from the cover area which i think is called a float. Its the NT carburetor with the red cover. I checked my donut it has no holes and it wasn't stuck. Any advice?

    • @Bob-T-Builder
      @Bob-T-Builder Місяць тому +2

      If it hasn’t leaked before than you probably just have a small piece of debris keeping the float needle from sealing correctly, but if it has always leaked than you might have to bend the tabs down more that hold the float until it sits level with the carburetor in the closed position. Hope this helps!

    Know what you have to do is turn your switch a little bit not all the way off but not all the way on turn your switch on this halfway to where it flows that'll cut down the save you on gas

    Know what you should have done to clean that metal to it's nice and shiny and then you should be well not that flex tape bulshit you got to use JB weld
