I loved that you said: "courage won't save you from fail. But that's ok". This is way more motivational than 90% of motivational videos on UA-cam. Great content!

Resilience comes from owning our decisions and results, and choosing better next time. Mopping around gets old but it's ok for short periods to find these videos, dust off our courage again, and recalibrate our compass.

"A cold shower a day keeps the doctor away "~ Wim Hoff. I feel very present during the cold shower and a bit after it. My concentration has improved significantly. I recommend everyone to try it

I've been out of hot water for almost a week now. At first it pissed me off, since, you know, coming back from kickboxing and having to do an ice cold shower because the neighborhood boiler is broken kind of sucks. But I now got used to it and sorta hope they don't fix it.

I can so relate to your story. When I was younger our flats boiler broke regularly (especially in the winter). That was the first time I realized I wasn't as tough I wanted to be even though I was used to full contact fighting. Later, I voluntarily challenged myself with cold showers and ice bathes.

This is just the video I needed. Thank you so much! 🙏
I knew I made the right decision when I subscribed to your channel after the first video I ever saw of yours. I rarely subscribe to channels, but I felt a strong urge so didn't hesitate, and this just confirms my intuition was right about you.
    Much love my friend♥

I've been taking a cold shower on most days for over a year now and it's the best thing I've ever done. As you suggest I started with hot to cold for a short duration and then built up from there. Nowadays I can walk straight into a cold shower and spend as long as I need in the cold water. It help me mentally and physically. Loving your vids BTW. Keep up the good work. You definitely deserve more views and subs. Your breathwork sessions have been excellent and I like the way you've combined them with meditation which is something I was already experimenting with before I found you. Best regards, Matt.

A "borrowed" courage is something that we can start with. It's the courage we feel when practicing next to an experienced practitioner or with our team. We can also use visualization beforehand, by going through the steps in our head and visualizing ourselves doing the details of our practice successfully. "Placebo Effect." Brain will feel like we've done it before and there's less resistance than starting without any mental prep. Combining the visualization at the exact moment we practice allows for deep focus and energy flow. With practice, we learn to generate heat with our minds.

I find the hard part is not taking the cold shower, but turning from hot to cold;) Tells you something....I found in essence it is all in our mind. Same with fasting or intermittent fasting....There I found as well I was fighting my head not my body demanding food. The mental process, the decision taking is the harder part. It works on both directions, not only "strong body = strong mind" but also vise versa.

Cold showers are Great but stepping into the ocean or lake during winter gives a much more intense and longer lastning euphoria. And suprisingly its easier too. When the water is totaly emgulfing you its easier to accept and even ejoy the cold.
Wish i could afford a swimmingpool with just enough heat to not freese in The winter so i didnt have to commute to my morning winter bath at sea.

    • @KitaroWaga
      @KitaroWaga  2 роки тому +3

Sure, if you have a river, lake or ocean nearby - that's great. Especially during winter the water gets colder than that of your shower's and you have the whole winter atmosphere that creates this magical moment and you can connect with nature. But a shower is for most people more accessible and reduces friction to do it regularly.

Thin wetsuit is cheaper than a swimming pool. It will keep you from freezing and, combined with strong swimming, will keep you comfortable. Team up with your local open water swimmers. Make sure to keep your head warm with a thermal hoodie so you don't pass out.

It gets easier if you start with legs and arms before proceeding to torso, back and head. Don't start with your head first when taking cold showers. You can also start with gradual exposure in stages, over multiple days.

I have been taking cool showers for nearly two months and love the after affects of feeling calm clear minded and revived. It has taken the courage to do daily to become used to it as I think would have been easier not to do it if I tried sometimes. Also found letting to cool water go over the head first was easier than leaving the head free if the cool shower. Winter will come in a few months so that will be an interesting test but trusting to be fully accepting of it by then.

I have cold showers for some years now. Only when I am dirty I take a warm shower. There are many nice side effects, for instance my skin is not dry, but I don't sweat much. I have no problem with different temperatures. It works...

Hello Kitaro, I am warming to you, excuse my pun. I am lucky enough to live next to the ocean in Queensland Australia. I start every day doing some Wim Hof breathing rounds and follow that with a swim in the ocean. If the surf conditions are dangerous, I take a cold shower. We are coming into summer, and soon and the ocean (and shower) temp will peak up to 28C (82F). I am a looking forward to winter. Haha. I now enjoy and learn from your videos.

Hey Jed, thank you for watching my video and the comment. That's a nice routine that you have there. I sometime wish I would have the Ocean close by. But I can't complain, I have cold rivers and lakes for my cold punges.
