Honestly i was one of those ignorant people that made assumptions regarding disabled people. You guys have taught me SO MUCH. Thank you for enlightening me, and helping us all understand the truth. I'm so happy for you that you found each other and have a happy, satisfying life. That isn't a statement because Shane has disabilities, I would say that to any happy, loving couple. What Shane lacks in some abilities he more than makes up for IN HIS ABILITIES. Not many of us can say that. Love you guys ❤

I am 53. My older sister 40 years ago fell in love with a man with M.S. He was paralyzed from the shoulders down. He was the love of her life. So I have seen the love and life of a couple like yours first hand. I love your channel, content and both of you! I am watching all your vids and just watched: "My Wife Cheats On Me - Addressing Rumors / Squirmy and Grubs" I must admit after watching it I must agree with some of the things pointed out and now understand how you two work. I mean "Covered, full body in peanut butter" and how shmexy your chair is... Then you said someone said your wife was actually your nurse: NOW she is in a nurse uniform.... Oh my... I hope that gave you both a chuckle and I know you don't need to hear this but don't listen to the haters. They just wish they had what you two have found. Happy for you and looking forward to all your future vids!!
I watch you every now and again in memory of a young man that I was hired to care for. He didnt have the exact same but a similar diagnosis. Watching the boring stuff is the best and worst. People have such a better POV on life when faced with a horrible unstoppable situation. The gems of wisedom constantly fall from their mouth. Its horrible that the realization of how weak and short lived we are is necessary to make us such better people. He once said, I am scared when I feel like I cant breathe but I remind myself if I can talk then I am breathing and it helps me calm down. It helped me once dealing with someone having an asthma attack to calm them down. You said "its not a bad thing, its a big thing and big things take up a lot of brain space." in a video you made 5 years ago about changes to your life expectancy that I just watched. I hope you continue sharing your insight for a very long time.
I have been a fan of your videos for years, but as a parent of a child with Down syndrome I especially love your comments about halfway through about people with disabilities just being included. I worry that as my son grows up he will be seen as an accessory, or a good deed to be done. I just want him to be included like everyone else

Based on most people's perceptions, experiences in relationships and what they find attractive in a potential partner, I would think it's more common to think it's not the real deal. What do you think of when you hear of a 25 year old woman marrying a 75 year old man? Or when you hear of men visiting websites that cater to western men marrying women from Thailand or Russia? These are examples of relationships that you might have questions about or something's up. No different here. All I'm saying is that even though these two may be legit and in love, you can't criticize other people for suggesting it's not real.

I had the same feeling. Like something bad happened. It is weird to me someone else said what I was feeling. Because the plan was to tape every day at Christmas time and then they just stopped. But I guess they got a long drive back to LA too though.

I worked with a guy who had cerebral palsy and society's reaction to him was infuriating. He was my boss, he had a wife, and children, and people treated him horribly. When something happened at work, and people asked for the boss, they were dumbfounded when he came up. He graduated from Temple University with a business degree and was able to handle ANY situation, but people looked for a the manager above him. People thought that his wife was his handler. When he worked counting money and giving people change, they would recount it even after he counted it out to them.
Andrew and your Dad are sooo funny!! I really love how you approach being disabled and how you are moving to educate all of us doofuses of the world! Thank you
Care giving isn’t just for the disabled. My husband and kids need my care even though they are able bodied. It’s just different but it’s still care giving.
I love you both. You are so smart and hilarious. I guess I was blessed by being around disabled people and, other than some physical things they were unable to do, I never saw them as lesser than I was. Most of the time I thought they were as smart or even smarter than me. Keep on living the dream guys. I love the glow of love that shines from each of you. Taking care of each other is what comes naturally when you have genuine love for one another. It looks, and sounds, like you have found that true love, which is so hard to find. Just so you know you are more free then some of us that put barriers in our heads and have all movements and capacities. Our family went through a very bad and traumatic situation and me and my husband have not had the capacity to move forward. And we have felt stuck kinda. It was cool to see the interaction between Shane and Andrew! I think seeing Shane's "normal" relationships (🙄) with more people than Hannah lends to bringing up awareness, too. It was amusing to hear 2 brothers tell a crazy story from their childhood...and oh! There happened to be this insignificant wheelchair that played a role in the story, too! It wasn't AT ALL about a disability, and the presence of the wheelchair just subtly enhanced the story. It's kind of like not every family has a dune buggy, but ours did, and here's how things went in my family because of that inclusion. (I'm not sure if that analogy makes ANY sense to anyone else!) Keep doing what you're doing! You have something special here, and I look forward to seeing what else you 2 come up with. P. S. I think we're due for another fashion show of some kind. Shane's "flavor" of judging is absolutely hilarious. I love how he makes up the rules as he goes, and Hannah just rolls with the punches. Your channel was a Godsend in 2020. In a world of chaos, I sought the real and kind. I have been following since and still hope the next video will be to announce a baby! This was such a good compilation. A thought occurred to me. Throughout history, “different” has equated to “dis-something” and “abnormal”. (Aside, I believe it our inability to recognize our primitive nature, but I digress). In the course of societal evolution and the birth of “trade based” economies, a pervasive tactic to raise money for the “disabled” population was through pity and the cost of that was the image of an entire slice of society. Be pitied=Receive funding. It is still pervasive in other aspects. (elderly, chronic illness) Today finds us in a global state of outrage- for pretty nearly everything- and social media now has elevated that disfunction to a cottage industry. Outrage=Likes, views and contributions. Not flattering, but true. The work that the two of you do pertaining to educating and raising awareness on behalf of and advocating for the Physiodiverse is exceptional. Please just remember that we have thousands of years of “pity” baked in. It will take time for society to transition, and some never will. We mist remain the compassion we wish to see in the world. It is true that back in the day, we didn't have accessible vehicles, accessible entries to restaurants and other places, or even the motorized wheelchairs like we have today so, indeed, someone like Shane would be mostly confined to the home. With every new technology and awareness adaptation we make, someone who couldn't participate in something actually can for the first time. It's a beautiful thing, progress. So, I guess I can see why someone older (though I'm 60 and would never think such things let alone say them) would think it an inspiration or surprise that Shane was out and about. Still, it does boggle the mind that people actually say these things to him.

Today finds us in a global state of outrage- for pretty nearly everything- and social media now has elevated that disfunction to a cottage industry. Outrage=Likes, views and contributions. Not flattering, but true.
The work that the two of you do pertaining to educating and raising awareness on behalf of and advocating for the Physiodiverse is exceptional. Please just remember that we have thousands of years of “pity” baked in. It will take time for society to transition, and some never will. We mist remain the compassion we wish to see in the world.

It is true that back in the day, we didn't have accessible vehicles, accessible entries to restaurants and other places, or even the motorized wheelchairs like we have today so, indeed, someone like Shane would be mostly confined to the home. With every new technology and awareness adaptation we make, someone who couldn't participate in something actually can for the first time. It's a beautiful thing, progress. So, I guess I can see why someone older (though I'm 60 and would never think such things let alone say them) would think it an inspiration or surprise that Shane was out and about. Still, it does boggle the mind that people actually say these things to him.
