Thanks for the video at the NEC. Ivan, you are a national treasure and thanks Suzie for being a great partner in these posts. I've had a few Fords in the past and if your Type 1 Escort had come to the US, I would have had one more. I got a bit melancholy when Ivan was talking to Gerry Johnstone about all the car friends who had passed. I'm old enough now to have had a good number of my car buddies pass and their cars sold on or gone, but the great memories remain.
Wonderful exhibition, plenty of eye candy wherever you looked. Exemplary camera work as usual, Susie. The occasional aside, or prompt for Ivan is much appreciated as well. I do have one request however, there are times you come tantalizingly close to the car's data sheet, just beyond reading distance. Please bring the camera in a little closer and hold for one second, allowing those of us who wish to, to pause and read.
The old photo, Ivan, (the Fox), surrounded by pretty "chicky babes" sitting on his racing Escort, so typical Ivan. Suzie I'll bet that guy takes some "supervision". A great look at the show, thanks Suzie and Ivan for taking us along.
Absolutely wonderful! The Ford hall reminded me of the Earls Court Motor Show circa 1970 or so, great memory. Suzie, it is so great that you spend time doing this with your Dad, he is a national treasure!
Susie it is to your credit that you are picky about the lighting but you did a wonderful job and all the cars are great to look at. Thank you for your professionalism Ivan someday you're going to have to tell us the story of the locomotive on the shelf over your head. I'm sure I'm not the only model railroad guy that wants to know more about that
An old man, a retired railway engineer, lived next door to me (SW4) in the 1950s, in a house which still used gas lights. He made a model locomotive, just like the one on Ivan's shelf. It was very detailed, but as a child at the time, I cannot be sure if it ran. It certainly looked as if it would run.
Great to meet Suzie and yourself on sunday ! and thank you for the picture kind words on tonight’s show ! A highlight to end on a belting weekend, boys from manchester 😂
Great to finally see the show. Took my lad there a couple of years ago knowing it would be the best part of a hundred quid for two tickets, got to the car park and they wanted another twenty quid or so to park. That was the tipping point where i got the hump and we went to the national motorcycle museum half a mile away instead. Turned out to be a great day out and cost about a tenner each.
Thank you for the tour. Makes me wish I was on your side of the big blue thing instead of being in the USA, but there you go. Thanks to you and Suzie, and UA-cam, I have a small connection with you and your exploits. Cheers.
love it the ford stand guy says o yea course you raced one ops think he ate some humble pie that day , beautiful pictures you look like you all had a great time
Hi Ivan, you stood right next to my Jensen 541S whilst videoing the Thunderbug on the VSCC stand. It was a great show and I was sorry to have missed you. Thanks for another great video.
It’s interesting listening to Ivan reminiscing about the old racers , those memories are built every day with the likes of Steve Soper ‘ Andy Rouse ,Mat Neil etc. each generation will have funny stories to tell , I sure a audience with John Cleland would have you laughing . Great work Team Susie that Ivan bloke is not to bad with young John his strait man . Keep up the good work 👍🤪
I love that line "they gave it to me for still being alive" I just couldn't believe his honesty and the devil may care attitude, well done Ivan, you deserve the cup!
Another good one suzie, we both admired the orange Audi 80gt I had one a long time ago and of course would love another. We both share the same favourite colour.
re: Hall-Scott breather - I suppose the breathing with a dry sump will always be a bit turbulent compared to a wet one because the air volume is much reduced so extra "reserve" volume needs to be maintained external to the crankcase. The front and rear breather connections should make this achievable as long as you have vertical "tubes" long enough to act as a baffle and avoid oil splash. Great fun Ivan !
You know what I like about Ivan and Suzie? Absolutely everything!, fantastic content, passion and knowledge. Met them both at Prescott a couple of months ago and they are genuinely as lovely as they seem on these videos…. ps buy a shed racing t shirt greet cause x
Don't know how you keep up this exhausting schedule Ivan,I'm a mere 82 & would have been knackered after just one hall at the show! I'm assuming there were plenty of places to sit down? I'm sure like me you can remember the shows at Olympia & what about the time they held a racing car show on a cross channel ferry moored near Tower Bridge?!
At school we were taken around Ford's Dagenham works and saw the clay model of the Capri before it was launched. Interesting place if you love machinery. We also saw the first 3 door ford Cortina. It was a QC mistake, one side of the production line built a 2 door, the other side made a 4 door Cortina. It was only when the guy drove it off the production line and parked it, and tried to lock it, he noticed that it only had 3 door buttons!
Hi Ivan, liked the walk around the Ford Hall, hats of to Suzie for the great camera tooling!.. back a bit I had a Anglia, rusted out with a bog & paint when I got it.. but me dad was hooked up at the local aerodrome & we ran it on AvGas.. green carb took a bit of explaining but made it rev! HARD.
Every thing looks cleaner and shinier than it did when it was brand new! Even the Peugeot looks like it has been scrubbed up. The show looks wonderful, maybe we should go one year, just seems a long way to go from Dover... Don't believe the ads, nothing works like it does in Adland.
Arrgh!, I didn’t know you were going to the NEC, I’d have gone to have a look around the Peugeot, oh well I’m sure I’ll see it at some event or other next year, thanks for another entertaining video you two 👍
Great video Ivan and Suzie, some memories at the NEC. My Mexico was more rust than Escort but I was younger and impressionable! The false teeth cracked me up. Best wishes, Dean.
The NEC video was great! I and I think everyone else would like to see all the footage Suzie, it doesn't matter at all if it's a bit dark. Anything with Ivan in it talking about cars is well worth watching. Could you put out an unedited version please? I bet you would get plenty of views! Ivan the motto is if an advert is on the internet DO NOT believe a bloody word of it, as it's a tissue of lies! I just skip through the adverts as quick as I can, but these days UA-cam is cute and makes you sit through all of it with many of them. It's even worse if you watch it on the television the adverts are far more frequent.
Hey I for one would also like to congratualte you on being alive. Sorry don't have a trophy to give you though but I assure you I'll keep watching your exploits.
Thanks for the video! What have they done to Bloody Mary? I saw it at Beaulieu in 1975 and it was as John Bolster had it, in original condition. Looks like it's been unnecessarily "restored". You have to wonder why...
Great video as always but can I recommend you go to Salon Epoqu’auto in Lyon next year it’s incredible event I’ve been for two years now , well worth the effort to go
Well Ian…I walked around the NEC for seven hours but still didn’t see some of the cars you did! There was so much to see and better than it used to be about twenty years ago. It is wonderful to hear your memories of old friends that most of us only knew via Autocar and Motor Sport magazines….you could have made money doing Show walking tours at £20 a head! Well done…stay young! 😃😃😃😃
Ivan thanks for another great vid and now testing you tube merch😂 Marvelous. I,m struggling to find Shed Racing T shirts etc ,could you send a link , please. Cheers Paul
Ivan. In your rush to inspect PMO 200 (13.00) you walked straight past Bernard Unett’s first racing car, a prototype Sunbeam Alpine. You can see it clearly in the background as a gentleman says good morning to you a few seconds later.

Come for the knowledge, stay for the humor. You guys always produce!
Thanks again Susie and Ivan for bring us another great video! Alberta Canada; Cheers!

That's funny. I was looking at that again, and did wonder.

That was great, thanks
Ivan you should do an 'Ivan recommends' section. Very funny with those false teeth!.
Really enjoy your channel. Thanks to Suzie, John and yourself 👏
Another good one suzie, we both admired the orange Audi 80gt I had one a long time ago and of course would love another. We both share the same favourite colour.
Excellent video thank you. Lovely to see Martin on the Morgan Stand too.
As always, a treat to watch!

Lovely what a treat. Thank you:)

I laughed my head off when you put those teeth in. Great video and always a window in your long association with cars.
Many people thought they saw a ghost, but it was Ivan with the heavy foot 😁
In the mid 80s there was an ex Shell series Mexico racecar in the old scrapyard under Harringworth viaduct near Uppingham.

That is pretty much what Ivan said but he used a few more expletives so I edited it out
@@suziepilkington5600was it the real one?! Blimey I hope not.

I walked straight past a lot of things - it's overwhelming
Had HFS Morgan designed that fine chair instead of EB it would have had 3 legs and a better P to W ratio and better MP gallon too!
Has Ivan muddled with and A30/35?
All the Fords I've owned from new never had paintwork like those. They need some rust!
Did they play classical music ic at the show?

What can I say Suzie? ... B BRILLIANT (again). Oh - I bought some plastic teeths like Ivans too - and I'm only 80 and dissapointed. What a laugh!
Ford did that not used to mean Fix Or Repair Daily ? 🙃...Fiat was another Fix It Again Tony....🤔🤭🤭
The best yet, so many funny comments.
