1998 doesn't seem that long ago but when I see old photos of myself, friends and family I realise it was almost a lifetime ago, time just goes so quickly.
It's a wonderful video just a few years ago! I'm glad that Ivan can still do all the things he did back then!! Cheers Ivan keep enjoying every bit of your life! Thanks Susie you did a great job!! Cheers from Alberta Canada
A Portly Ivan and a young Boy John loved the video its priceless as you explain the history and workings of a Bugatti racing car the importance of this video its timeless thank you all for making and showing it
how good is that thanks Suzy for putting that together what a treat , as others have said a young Ivan and a very young john too , thanks team shed racing
Wow, I really enjoyed that. Mad props to Susie for all the great video work she's taken over. Also, it was great seeing Ivan and John back in that day.
What a lovely video! And to see a delightful interviewer that actually asks sensible question and does not mind getting greasy is a revelation, it does bring home just how far standards of today have fallen, now the drivers handbook tells us not to drink the battery acid! Very many thanks for posting this video, and to Suzy for compiling it in an interesting form, it has re defined standards. Chris B.
Ivan, that was great, I never seen those clips before, and such a good programme, she let you explain quite a lot. So how long has John been with you, no wonder you work so well together, you don't need to tell each other what to do, you just understand and trust each other, maybe!!.
It is upsetting to think...no sobering to think that in 1998 I was 31 and remember it like it was yesterday, today 57 and in 25 yrs, 82 yrs old. Enjoy every day, they are precious.
Great entertainment! Good job on pulling these old videos, Susie. I was somewhat distracted by the overhead shots of the interviewer....obviously. The Bugatti looked and sounded terrific. Thanks for sharing, Ivan. I may have been a bit larger in 1998 than I am now as well!
Wonderful clips of your beautiful Bugatti's thanks for sharing these Ivan and thanks to Susie for putting them together. I am enjoying your UA-cam channel immensely and have been following the progress video's with your 1959 MK1 Speedwell 850 Mini, she's a little beauty. I can't wait to see a video of her running on the fabulous blue Speedwell wheels 😀
" Ivan, I can see that you have a rather strange looking tool there" said the posh lady who had no idea what the young and enthusiastic Mr Dutton was banging on about.
Ivan, with his "winning ways", and "young" John both fine "dapper chaps" back in the day and still today, you chaps sure have worked together a long time. And I'm sure we all looked a lot younger 25 years ago. Thanks Shed Racing for this historic look back in time.
that was splendid , thank you. You do so much better explaining the genius of Etoire Bugatti and his cars than the bbc ever could , not that they would now, you are unique and a wondrous role model to anyone concerned to live life to the fullest
Lovely bit of nostalgia and nice to see the lads as they were 26 years ago! Terrific video actually, and the young lady interviewer seemed quite absorbed with what Ivan was describing to her about the Bugatti. Thanks and Cheers from Canada, Regards Paul.
Hi Ivan. I was at the Brumos Collection in Jacksonville, Florida earlier. They have "Charlatans" related displays, one of the two Peugeot L45s from 1914. They also have multiple Miller related displays. Well worth a visit. I spoke to one of the staff about your "Peugeot" and your interest in The Charaltans. I told him about your UA-cam.
I wish interviewers were still that engaged and enthusiastic. She was never going to be on Mastermind with forced induction as her specialist subject, but making a proper effort is what made the difference. I think the problem now is that they don't employ enough interviewers to be able to marry them up to the subject at hand. Either that or they don't bother to do any research.
Great video, its funny i remeber you like that and you sound just like dad 😂 and great to see Jimmy Diff and charlie ... Seems a life time ago. Thank you for bringing the video back to life.
Great video and I was there too! Think it was my third ever race meeting as a competitor. Keep your eyes peeled and you see a few clips of me with Lagonda Rapier AHN730
I wish I would have known about Ivan and Bugatti's and all of his old sports cars back in the 90's. The young folk have a great advantage in learning the engineering now from someone who spent a lifetime working with, modifying, and improving these designs. From everyone who benefits from this education....THANK YOU!
Really enjoying the videos, could you possibly do a short one on that lovely little model locomotive & tender behind your chair in the bookcase & cabinet?
I definitely would Ivan, i can can see why you liked her. The car i mean, I would love to spend an afternoon getting to grips with all the intricate bits.
@@Margarinetaylorgrease Had to look that one up as well! You could be right, I found this description of the kind of person who would call a total stranger a simp :- Many men who accuse others of simping suffer from toxic masculinity, an unfortunate and pervasive illness that commonly plagues monster truck enthusiasts and also all of society. They might see any level of respect or consideration for a woman as simpish antics. Getting just like Twitter on here isn’t it.
Great video about Bugatti's innovations! Is there more to the air than mechanics and tools? Maybe it was just the charisma and chemistry created by Bugatti?
1998 doesn't seem that long ago but when I see old photos of myself, friends and family I realise it was almost a lifetime ago, time just goes so quickly.
Whoever that lady was, she did a great interview and appeared to know her stuff and was interested in the topic!
Excellent footage of early Ivan and John TV stardom! Always surrounded by lovely ladies, nothing changes!

Nice to see James diffey. Gone but not forgotten
I thought so, too. He sure encouraged guys like me to go out and have fun

What a gem seeing them both 25 years ago. Everything being obvious then as it is now. 😂

He's still got Crumpet wrapped round him!
"Take it right now and make it safe somewhere!" I was thinking it might be nice to take the presenter somewhere safe for dinner and a chat
Susie you obviously need to keep a close eye on young Ivan. These videos are real gems and a delight to watch.

Brilliant, just brilliant! I was grinning from start to finish. Well done, Suzie. Terrific video.
She was quite the distraction 😉
" Ivan, I can see that you have a rather strange looking tool there" said the posh lady who had no idea what the young and enthusiastic Mr Dutton was banging on about.
She'd oil my kingpin.
Ripper footage.. what a Treasure.. Many thanks for posting
Great work Susie! These Shed Racing videos from Ivan and Susie are historic gems. Thank you!🙏 ❤
Looks like The old silver fox has been wowing the ladies with his cars for a while 😊
Just brilliant! How Ivan managed to speak coherently around such glamorous company is a mystery but clearly has developed the knack...

another awesome archive vid! Great work again Ivan and Suzie (and video helper)
Those are wonderful! and learned a few things too- thanks for sharing!
Great to see Ivan in Days of Yore, and John. That second babe was easy on the eyes!!!
Great to see these older clips! Thanks!
What a Great video.Very well presented.Thank you.A step back in time, and lessons still available.
Ivan's voice has regressed with age and he now sounds much more cockney than he did in the '90s! He's reverted to his teenage accent.
Might have been the throat cancer?
Lovely bit of nostalgia and nice to see the lads as they were 26 years ago! Terrific video actually, and the young lady interviewer seemed quite absorbed with what Ivan was describing to her about the Bugatti. Thanks and Cheers from Canada, Regards Paul.
I'm no Bugatti expert like Ivan, but I dare say that Chiron's Monaco winning Type 51 is worth considerably more than £1 million today.
Ivan, would love a story on your old Mazda Cosmo !!
I really enjoyed that and thank you for sharing the video. But when you told the lady the price on the car they couldn't stop touching him😊

Fantastic video! Ivan has had a amazing life and continues to grab a piece of life. You go Ivan!!!
Lovely footage. The T51 is still owned by a "proper' car enthusiast in the U.K. It is still driven to the pub, and couldn't be in better ownership :-)

I wish there was a tv programme like that now. Thank goodness we have Shed Racing! The second presenter was very good.

Not a day older, lads.
a true gentleman trough the times.

Fascinating technical detail and, seemingly, resolutely Anglicised pronunciation of the great man's name.
Hi Ivan what a great car do you still own it.
Well done Ivan, Susie, and John All good stuff
Another great video. Bravo
Who was the presenter? She is very good and even got her hands dirty.
