That's the fastest I have ever seen anyone drive a 1950s living room, complete with leather upholstery and wooden furniture. Fabulous video Ivan, classy smooth driving, you've still got it mate.

Good stuff, love the black cat getting in the Alvis at the beginning. Perhaps she was hoping to do the "Pom" as well!.Remember the racing Grey Lady that Marshal drove at Goodwood.I seem to recall the A35,s had around 135bhp so,as you say,not modified at all!! Even the Academy cars later on had about 85bhp.

Wonderful! Not quite sure when I will dare to enter the Pom, (first event will be the Cotswold trial this year, I think) but hopefully not too far off... That grey lady, Shure would look awesome with more modern shoes, about 8"-10" wide rims, in 17"-20 diameter 17-18" on the front 17-18" x 8-9" with a 9-10" in the rear, 245-35-(17"-18") tires in front, with 275-30-(17"-18") rear, or there about, late 90's early 2000's sizes, it would not be too heavy, a alloy mesh center with larger appearing hoop possibly mounted reversed, to give the look of a 20" rim if ther is clearance, I think it would look awesome, I love restromods. Basically add better brakes, modern rims and tires, possibly upgraded suspension. With either a slightly newer engine, or modified original, better balance on the crank, remove excess weight. Stronger tod bolts, possibly stronger rods, fit a modern piston, lightly ported head, polished chamber, possibly ceramic coating possibly larger valves , port match every thing, all the ports , and add a more modern carburetor. And a cam or regrind, getting about .080" more lift with about 10-18° total duration, and about 4-6° additional overlap, And raise the compression to about 200psi, (195-210 Psi,) basically any engine getting this treatment, will possibly double the output, pickup about 1000-1500 rpm on modern engines late 40' or 50's and newer, or 200-500 in the old engines!: Or keep the low compression, and add a turbo! With blow through carb!!

Absolutely fabulous video. I know it will probably never happen but I would dearly love to meet you in person. Not real familiar with Alvis although the character Jim Prideaux drove one in the BBC/Paramount film series Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy in the 1980s. The six episode series featured Alec Guinness as George Smiley. His was a two place painted dark blue with red leather upholstery. The retired intelligence agent was working as a teacher in a private school and in one scene he is letting his boy students drive the beautiful Alvis around the playing ground -- great fun for them! Those looked like SU carburetors on the engine and the interior appointments were simply stunning. They certainly don't make them like that anymore although I understand there is a firm who has started building the Alvis once again. Keep up the GREAT WORK!!!
