Here are some extra tips which I missed in this video..
1) Any variety rice can be used for this recipe but the rice should be little old. If new rice is used then ghavan will become very sticky.
2) Soak rice for longer time so that you can grind it fine. If any tiny bits of rice is left they will not get cooked and you can feel the raw bit of rice while eating.
3)When you take out the ghavan from pan take it out on an inverted seive or on a plate, let it cool down and then fold it. This way they will not stick .
Awesome. Thank you so much. Please lemme know do we need to warm them before eating or the same will be ok

morning166 yes ... Mangalore Konkani style is like you mentioned 👌🏼
quantity of coconut for dis recipe ?
@@safiaamourvous half medium size coconut is enough for about 300 GM's of rice. While adding salt to the batter adding sugar 3-4 tsp gives nice taste to the dose.
for neer dosa they don't add coconut ....
KotiChennayya , for Konkani style neer dosa which we call as ‘paan pole’... we add coconut. I use 1 cup coconut to 2 cups of soaked rice while grinding and also salt. It’s soft and delicious the way we do 😀

this is a nice breakfast and helthi and very tasty
Process of soaking the rice overnight requires lot of patience but it's worth waiting for. Do we need a specific griddle or any ordinary one will do?
Made this for my 4yrs old toddler. He likes it very much.
Mam is it non stick pan or iron
Ok thaink u so much for your reply ☺
very nice I make this type but little different and I add grated coconut mixed with godd or gur
Very nice tutorial. We Konkanis add a little grated coconut to the rice while grinding. Thats 'panpolo'. If we add jaggery and puffed rice, they should be put a little thickly. Thats called 'Surnoli'.
Maria Coelho thats 'Surnoli' which should be eaten with ghee. Yummy!

Nice .... so good
hi............i have tried many of your recpies including neer dosa they are just perfect, but can u tell me is there any trick to prevent neer dosa from sticking . as soon as i folded them on pan they stuck
To prevent dosa from sticking dont fold it onto pan.. just take it out onto perforated plate or a broad sieve and leave it there for a while so that the steam will escape and then you can fold it.
I am from Udupi... We add little grated coconut...to get great taste!
When can v use the batter after grinding for preparing ghavan. Any specific time

I'm using old tawa itself... as said the tawa should be too hot and apply good quantity of oil to the sides and little in centre... stir the batter each time and put on the tawa. .
I got good dosa on first try itself
