Hi JP , I love you got back to Rory he was Ireland's first rock star , and is still very much loved here in Ireland.!!! Please continue your journey discovering Rory's music with IRISH TOUR 74 the live song from the movie TATTOOED LADY , Lou Martin on keyboards the whole band are absolutely cooking on this track. Great channel jp
This is part of one of the great Loreley Rockpalast events. The lineup for that day was BAP - a vera well known German band, Eric Burdon, Rory Gallagher, David Lindley and Frankie Miller. And everything was on TV. At the end of the show members of all bands appeared on stage for jamming some songs - among others Knocking on Heaven's Door - obviously because that was one song everybody knew to play. My favorite performance by Rory Gallagher on that day was Moonchild - what is probably my all time favorite of his performances ever. Gerry McAvoy is still on the road with his Band of Friends and still playing some Gallagher stuff.
The live performances from the 70s are particularly spectacular. Anything from Montreux Jazz and the 74 Irish Tour. Also Bullfrog Blues from the Old Grey Whistle Test. Saw Rory live a number of times in the 70s--they were the best concerts ever! Gerry McAvoy is still playing--Rory's Festival in Ballyshannon, Ireland--with Band of Friends
Hi Justin. Dave from Across The Ocean. I grew up with Rory's first two solo albums, plus On The Boards by his former band Taste. He was a fantastic, unsung guitarist, and I really like his singing-and-playing style. P.S. my song ref Across The Ocean is by more unsung artists - pop/proggers Meer from Norway. The song and video have a dreamy Summer of Love vibe - highly recommended.
Love Rory! My older brother, haha Please, react to the first song I heard from him, 'Moonchild'. Fantastic song, produced by Roger Glover from Deep Purple.

Live is the only way to listen to Rory even better when you see him perform, he was GOAT

Thank you for the live performance. Rory and band were a ripping show back in my youth! Preace & Love.
One of the best guitar rock players.. great band
Saw him a few times back in the day. No gimmicks - just a great guitarist with a really tight band. A real musician's musician.
Great live performance. Love the tune and the guitar playing is captivating.
Gerry Mc Avoy on Bass .
2nd row legend, but a legend indeed.
Saw him a short while ago, still holding up the spirit:

My favorite and one of the best ever. A list Rock Star without the corporate bs. R.I.P.
Happy this was a different live performance. The other I had seen was good too. I hadn't seen this one and could enjoy it for that reason too.
IMHO the best (incredible)live performance by Rory is Shadowplay at Montreux Jazz festival.Unbeleivable
Finger-tap is when a finger on the picking hand plays a note. Hammer-on is when a finger on the fretting hand plays a note that is not picked.
Ohhhh ty ty Jay :)
I scrolled down. I figured one of y'all would have the answer. : D Kept me from talking stupid. LUL
Hilarious review Hahaha

Alex Lifeson used to rave about two guitarist's. Alan Holdsworth, and yer man Rory Gallagher!
You should watch shadowplay live,it will leave you speechless!!!
What an astonishingly meagre response to such a brilliant guitar player! 🤔
Red hot Chilli peppers
