    Fantastic video.
I got to borrow a V4S for a couple of weeks last year and fell in love with it. Shocking to me as I’ve been a life long sport bike guy. Took delivery of my 2024 V4S last week and I absolutely adore this thing. Haven’t ridden the Pikes Peak but where I live, the 17” front isn’t too important as all our roads are mostly straight anyway. I will be taking it on a couple track days though as it handles incredibly.
    Keep the Multistrada content coming!

You make it very hard to come up with a comment because you’re spot on. I also have a streetfighter, but my sf 2022 does not have near the mileage that I have on my multi. I also hate to turn ignition I would much rather have the European version that’s a push button. And I also was pissed that it didn’t come with heated grips. I couldn’t even get the dealer to negotiate it into the deal. I actually have the Rs version and I enjoy the stock carbon fiber windscreen. And you’re right about burning up tires I’m on my third set The first one lasted me about 1400 miles then I tried to continental sport attack4 now I’m on the road attack 4. I did add the keyless gas cap. I’m still debating on the exhaust.
I’m just over 8000 miles now. Thank you for the history lesson and taking the time to make this video.
Man, if you ever need a travel mate going north or wherever I’m just up in Idaho Falls I’m always looking for a riding buddy.

As always, great report Dave. Agreed with your assessments of the Multistrada. Many years ago had a friend that had a 620, and have lusted Multistradas since. Finally pulled the trigger the Fall of 2023 on a Rally, which makes me giggle everytime I ride it.

I've always like this channel. Spot on advice without the know-it-all attitude, pure riding content, true to its name.
And this video is exactly how bike reviews should be done. I dont want you to read the brochure to me while playing nice shots of the bike. I want to hear about the riding experience and your personal take on how it is to live with the bike. Cudos!
Btw, i own a multistrada v2s and besides the v4 engine stuff, everything else i agree 100% on. Even the utterly useless keyless system.

IN 2020 i bought my first bike ever: a showroom example of the 2019 S1000XR, full option, triple black, with a HUGE discount as it was standing next to the 2020 model.
I have 100 000 kms on the bike now, and could not be happier. The upright ergoes are perfect for my 50 year old 6'3" and 250 lbs body and the quickshifter and nannies made it a good beginner bike.
So i understand you and agree 100 %, the agility make lanesplitting through Brussels and Antwerp rush hour a real breeze, the 'lack of torque' is easily solved by keeping the bike over 6000 rpm.
And i started using another word for "used", i say "pre-loved"

I’ve only been riding for a relatively short time, but went from a Scrambler 800 in 2017 to a 1260S the next year, then picked up the 2021 V4S as soon as they were available. I absolutely love it, but would have to consider the Rally or Pikes Peak if I had to replace it today for the more road-focused design. Fun to hear more about the Multi history, and sharing your thoughts. Love the channel, so keep up the great work.

I know I've said it before, Dave, but that Pikes Peak of yours is a thing of beauty!
I've still got the 1200S and my mate has the 1260S. I was surprised how different they felt to ride. The wheelbase on the 1260S is a smidge longer, and you can definitely feel the difference. I dunno how much it had to do with him running thr Scorion Trail 2's, compared to the Angel GT 2's on mine tho, but for such a similar looking bike, they felt like night and day.
The difference having the 17" front on your Pikes Peak compared to the 19" on the other V4's must feel like that too. I've not ridden the new Multi yet but think I definitely need to this year. 😎👍

I too got my 23 second hand and sold my 22 V4S to a buddy. Moral is never demo a Pikes while service does your bike. I agree with all your observations. This is my third Multi since 2014 with a Monster mixed in. I'm 77 years old and this is my fifth Duc. My car has the same key tech. If you really hate the key use the PIN function. You can't lose a PIN number. I hate the keyed gas cap. Took them off all my bikes. What somebody is going to steal 4 gallons?????? The heated grips are a F'ing gripe. I too think the muffler is total BS. I never thought a heated seat on a Ducati ever made sense so don't miss that.

I have one and it’s awesome! I already had two V2 Multi’s but at the end of the day it’s all about the V4. Brakes are amazing, it slays the mountain passes and that can go on for days. I did lower the front shocks 8mm from some instability at very high speeds on the freeway. Only thin I would change is to have the ability to change my shifter to Moto GP style and have the ability to change the engine braking. Other than those two things it’s a hammer. Thanks Ducati!

Congrats on the new bike. Buying low mileage, pre owned is definitely the way to go on bikes like these given the ridiculous initial MSRP and immediate and fairly substantial depreciation in the first year or two. I would love to try a MS Pikes Peak someday as, just like you, it would tick a lot of boxes for me, that is, boxes that I currently fill by owning multiple bikes. Alas for my inseam-challenged self, seat height and the costs and headaches of lowering the suspension often drive me to look elsewhere for my latest "unicorn". On occasion in my decades of riding, I have bit the bullet for custom seats and suspension modification costs but, more often than not, I have just moved on as over time I have found there is always some great new make/model of bike that will reasonably fit my inseam-challenged self - all while ticking the right boxes at the time. Great video.

I live in Australia. The number of well maintained, well surfaced twisty roads is minimal. But pothole roads, dirt roads, freeways and backcountry byways are numerous. I would rather tour on my 19 inch front wheel then on my 17 inch front wheel. Once you become accustomed to the stability of a 19 inch front wheel I don’t believe it has any disadvantage over a 17 inch front wheel in fact ways it is far superior. However I would swap both for a Pikes Peak V4.

Like the ol’ Clarkson used to say “what a machine!!”.
Love mine to bits! Toured Sardinia last fall with my pillion, wheelie it on the twisty and cruise it to work… if I had another set of wheels to mount slicks on it and raise the pegs I would track it too.. just the perfect all around bike, Ducati just nailed it.
A bit curious about the RS with the streetfighter engine, but I wouldn’t change the 10/15 hp difference for the 60.000 km valve intervals!
P.s. treat yourself with a full akra and the ducati ecu tune you’ll thank me later! 😂

If you've not, take a look at Madstad windscreens. I have a Madstad on my tiger 1200 and love it! Fully adjustable. I had the stock and the Puig, but these were not wide enough to get wind noise off the side of my helmet. Less noise, less fatigue. The look is more aggressive - less cutesy than most stock windscreens. IMHO!
Your content is always spot on! Really enjoy the engineering and physics insights. Thanks!

A nice scoot indeed Dave. I bought a new '23 V4 PP in the middle of winter back in Minnesota in order to save a few $ last Feb and trailered back home in Arizona. Coming from a '20 Panigale V2 for the track and a BMW K1600 GT for the road, I've found as you have the PP is a terrific blend of track bike, sport bike, sport tourer, canyon carver. I agree that for the price, getting less features (heated grips, center stand, removable saddle bags) than some of the other Multistrada models is a head scratcher and no doubt a margin grab by Ducati. I also put on the full Akra exhaust with the Ducati race tune and the exhaust note is improved and it brings the HP up reportedly to around 185-190 (not that it needs it) After over 40 years of riding some 300,000 miles on about 25 different bikes over those years, this bike may be my last and arguably the best I've had. Thanks for the review and affirmation. :)

Somehow I'd still go for a 2010 model (driving a Hypermotard 950SP at the moment). I tried a V4S as a courtesy bike once and it was perfect to the point of soullessness but maybe i should have tried harder.
Moreover I bought my first Ducati in 1989 (Paso 906) and I have difficulties swallowing the move away from desmo 😉. Otherwise I agree, it is a marvellous bike surprisingly agile and a blast even for the tight twisties of the southern Black Forest and the passes of the Apennines between Bologna and Florence that are my current playground 😍
