- In this video I diagnose what went wrong with a failed seal on a bag of pasta plus test all 3 major styles of heat sealing machines. We've got the $2 hair straightener, the $30 thin impulse sealer, and the $130 commercial style crimp sealer. Which is best for your project? I weigh the results and costs and find out in this awesome video.

I love your energy great video!
Awesome video ❤
I sell the impulse sealers because they have proven to be excellent value. If you buy the cheapest Chinese variants, then the elements don't last. The trick is to seal with 2 - 3 beads for redundancy. I have filled mylar bags with 55 pounds of wheat and the Chinese impulse sealer works well.
"I got a hole in my sock, I just discovered" haha you crack me up bud
Could have put it in a bowl of water and push you can find pin leaks from air bubbles. Same way tires are checked for holes.
Also just wetting it with soapy water and looking for bubbles when squeezing.
After 30 years doing mylar bags not all stinks to hardness as long as you have a recommended cc and it sealed up, not to panic,it's just air,cc absorbers removes oxygen not air....
Glad to see it's tested now. I don't have mylar but I have Mason jars and oxygen absorbers so I have to keep my pasta raw, but that's fine I have fuel for dayzz
That is quite a lot faster and reusable. I have some stuff stored like that. Just gotta keep it out of the sunlight but it's definitely more mouse-proof too.
@@EmergencySurvivalTips for sure, we like to keep it in the top most shelf in the pantry but our apartment is old and weird. With that said there's a lot of weird places to store things. I love this channel, post as much as is fiscally reliable and I will always tune in
Would you still buy the expensive sealer? Is it holding up well?
I don't think it's worth the money unless someone just has that much money.
Beautiful❤*
The Harvest Right impulse sealer is great quality and does a super sealing job. $130 but well worth it
Glad yours works. I just got one w my new freeze dryer a few days ago and I have to go over the same spot 3 times on highest setting to get a solid seal (using the HR bags which I am guessing are 7 mil). They are replacing it so I hope it's just mine is defective and not a bad design. I can't even seal cheap sandwich baggies unless it's on setting 6.
Proper heating element! 🤣
What size mylar bags do you recommend?
Quart. Gallon and bigger is too heavy. Like a quart is around 2.2 kg of rice.
What's your opinion on the Wallaby Mylar bags ?
Never used them myself but based on their appearance and specs, they look okay. That zipper is nonsense though. You'd definitely still have to seal it.
You didnt leave the product information
That's because they're terribly easy to find at any retail website
Why are you so hesitant to name the brand? There are zillions of Chinese knockoffs...
That chinese sealer is 100% WORTHLESS
bought one, never worked. Not once
