I love super hero's because when we were children we all ways dream we could fly or shoot beams form our eyes and move Heavy objects with her mind It's so forth but they Taught us To stand up for ourselves and do the right thing. That's why I love drawing them In writing about.
To me, the most "SUPER" of all Super-Heroes are the ones that constantly punch above their weight, who fights battles too big for him/herself. For me it's Spider-Man, who never gives up, keeps fighting for people that hate him, sure people fear Batman but he needs that, he uses that. Spidey on the other hand is treated badly but keeps going... I know I wouldn't lol I'd be all "Fine... Fuck you guys, save yourself.. I'm gonna go rob a bank and go home." So in my eyes, Spider-Man is the most heroic hero, and the most Super in that he always rises to the occasion, never backs down no matter if its a mugger or alien invasion, a bank robbery or robot uprising, when people need help Spidey comes no matter what the sacrifice to himself, his life, his employment, or even paying his bills. He's not rich, or incredibly powerful, he can't afford to start over if his secret gets out, or even pay his rent by working and fighting crime at the same time... but he does it. He always finds a way. If you disagree lemme know why, I'm sure I'm overlooking some people but I've just been reading ALOT of Spidey lately and he's quickly made my top 5.
+Owen Likes Comics Thanks, I've never been in one of those or anything lol I just tried to be honest, and just thought "Super Hero" and wrote what came to mind. Spidey is a pretty awesome guy, I think if I could meet one superhero It'd be him.... He seems fun lol
+danteelite I can definitely see where you're coming from because Spidey's my favourite superhero. But I've idolized Superman ever since I was 3 so I would prefer to meet him.
Lang-Burney Let's Plays Lang-Burney Let's Plays Why though? Would you admit you know he's Clark Kent? lol Or play along? I don't think Supes would be good company, similar to Batman but in a different way, awesome guys.. just not someone fun to hang with. Spider-Man seems like the kinda guy who would chill and take you for a swing, and talk nerdy with you, show off his cool web shooters with geeky enthusiasm and tell awesome awful jokes. Although, I think If I had a chance to spend a prolonged period with someone, like a week or so.. I'd choose Batman, or someone in space, like the Guardians or Green Lantern.. Just because who could pass up a chance to see another world, meet aliens, fly in a space ship! In my opinion Superman would just lecture me on swearing, and I'd get bored hearing about Lois and justice and how Bruce won't return his texts or accept his facebook friend request lmao He's too goody for me, but I do see the appeal. I'd like to know why you'd like to hang with Big Blue, what would you do? Tour the Fort?
+danteelite Well my friend when your a kid who was always confused as to why people acted so mean towards each other and wouldn't help each other out when they could really use the assist it makes you think about morality(even though I didn't know the word). So I always believed in helping people even if the problem is minuscule. I just knew in my heart it's right because God knows I would definitely want help if I really needed it. And when I was exposed to "the Amazing Stranger" through the animated series from episode 1 to 54 I watched and listened to the exploits of not just a symbol but a person I can relate to 100%. When I watch the(3 part) episode "The Last Son of Krypton", all that emotion in part 1, the beginnings of Clark in part 2, and everything in part 3 just cemented my love for the characters, setting, and story themes. When you see Clark react to his powers it's the same way all of us would react, confused and scared. Then when he runs off to clear his head he begins to realize just how amazing his powers are and that Jor-El & Lara were right, they are a gift. So he decides once he graduates that he'll try to find his purpose in the world and how to best use his gift. What he finds is that helping the world is his goal, to better the world, to be the champion of the oppressed & a symbol of hope. And you know straight away in part 3 that this is not just the dream of his birth parents or the Kents he choose to this because deep down Clark has always been an upstanding guy who looks to help no matter what. When you here Tim Daily speak you now it's sincere so when Superman told Lois, "I'm not here to scare anyone. In fact I've always tried to help people whenever possible." its so genuine. The music in the show is sooooooo good never in my life have I loved every song in a soundtrack. Every time music plays it brings weight to the scene wether it's emotional, action packed, or even standard a moment in an episode is always engaging. And thanks multiple composers who have enough range to incorporate other genres of music in a Superman show and make it work is commendable. Each song you here isn't just for Big Blue it's for the situation or the villain as well. I could watch Supes do anything if this music team is on aboard. Shirley Walker's theme song is my favourite Superman them of all time whenever I read Superman comic or just see a pic of him I think of that masterpiece it really suits him. It's thanks to this wonderful introduction to the Man of Tomorrow that I have since become such a huge fan of the character and his mythology. I've enjoyed every tv, radio, and film adaptation except for the Zack Snyder filth and I'm finally able to buy and read of the comics so I can expand my knowledge on the story. The stories of the man who can fly have entertained me and inspired me. The character's optimism, hopefulness, compassion, kindness, friendly nature, and willingness to help others despite their faults is truly admirable. Superman is such a fun guy wether he's chillin as Clark(his true self contrary to popular) or as Big Blue you could hang out with him, give each other advice, or even try to get to no each other and you know you can talk about anything with him because he's so understanding. And that's why would like to meet and talk with Superman.
I think something interesting to point out is that Nietsche used the word "Ubermensch" which actually does not translate into overman but overhuman. The word "mensch" in German does not translate into "man" but rather "human."
Thanks a lot Owen, I'm doing a research project on Superheroes and mythology and your videos help a lot. I have even cited this video for evidence in it.

Ooo 😃 I just recently started reading _Thus Spake Zarathustra_ (which is where Nietzsche first used the term *ubermensch* ). Like, I literally opened the book yesterday 😅
Omg I love your video and right now I’m working on my research based on Norse mythology- how Norse gods like Thor and Loki have been transformed to superheroes by marvel. By watching your video, I can trace back to the origin of superhero. Thank you so much 💓
They're definitely characters that would be defined as superheroes if they were created today, but they were created *before* the term became synonymous with action heroes (which started with Mandrake)

@@OwenLikesComics I think Routh already was great at being Christopher Reeve. Routh did also get ripped for the role of Superman. Sadly, much like every other Superman suit before Man of Steel, the costume didn't let Routh show off his physique. Brandon Routh is my first live action Superman. He was my favorite, but I think Dean Cain is rising above Routh for me. Loved his appearance in The CW's Crisis on Infinite Earth's and would love to see him get a new movie or even a series as Superman again
Maybe not the sense that he's a Superpowered hero, but at the same time, his abilities are beyond those of a regular human (enough so that he's an equal part of a team of Gods), alongside his drive to do good might make him one?

Come swiftly Lord Jesus Christ.
Superhero = a kind of hero that possesses super-powers.
Too be completely honest, I'm thankful humans don't have these kinds of powers, because i know people won't use them for good.
the idea of superheroes came from Frederick Nitschke. He called him "Ubermensch"

nihilism seems depressing
It can be seen as quite depressing, but to those who follow it, it's seen as liberating - I guess it's all about perspective.
