So they just offered me retail and ate the tax!🤬 Jomashop has allot of new for $4500-$5500 shipped and $6150 shipped with diamonds!😁😁 This is an awesome watch and size(38mm) but Omega is way to proud of the price. It should have micro adjustments for the price.
I'd probably go with the sandstone or the green or blue, it's very enticing to go for the red or yellow but it's much harder to wear that in an everyday situation, and then the watch starts collecting dust as you're more likely to reach for your watches that are a bit more restrained.
I tried on the terra-cotta at an Omega store and I have to say it’s one of the most beautiful watches that I have ever tried on. Classy but at the same time catchy ❤love it so much that me and my brother ordered one. Can’t wait to have it on the wrist again!
I’ve been watching your content for a little bit as a new watch collector and I’ve got to say you give me great insight on many watch brands. Thank you for guiding my new process! One day I’ll get my first Omega.
Great - I have my terracotta one already. Waited a long time. Managed to get one from Omega direct in the Uk. No fuss - fits perfectly. A really stand out dial. Thanks for the review.
I really like these, I'd struggle to choose a colour, they're all great! The date window bezel addition is definitely an improvement, I'm glad they took notice.
I wasn't really actively aware of these as a separate model within the Aqua Terra range. They're very pretty and well sized. The sandstone color is my favourite, classic and understated.
Really like these too! And I’m very glad Omega added that facetted metal frame to the date window. It was my only major gripe that they were initially introduced without it. As for color choice…that’s really tricky. Initially I thought my favorite was the saffron followed by the terracotta. But now I’m seeing the Atlantic blue and sandstone variations again, I can’t conclusively decide. I suppose I’ll have to see them in the metal before making a final choice. 38mm is just my perfect size watch as well! My current daily is a 38mm Seiko Alpinist ‘Ginza’ which I purchased a few years ago, and still love to this day.
These AT’s look amazing! I’m not a huge fan of date complications for watches but I agree that framing the date window was an improvement. For any watch in that price range or above, there’s not really a good excuse for the bracelet to be lacking a quality on-the-fly adjustment. I really like those dial colors though! Excellent video as always 🥃
I would love to see a comparison of that style of watch (date at the 6, marker indices, simple and clean). Lots of brands have that style of watch, like the conquest and like this aqua.
My favorite 2024 is the Prospex Limited Edition 1965 Recreation European Exclusive in Gradation Island Blue. The dial is stunning and the contrast when on a white strap is to die for. I will get my hands on one from MAMACOO
I'm impressed with these new models and very pleased that Omega put a frame on the date windows. The frameless ones really were ugly. I don't mind the white date background either now that there's a frame.
Beautiful dials for these new AQUA TERRA . They combined the quality of Diver's watches and the elegance of dress watches . They will have, for sure, great success.
I totally agree. Especially the Date window looks so much better with that frame. Keep up the good work. I really enjoy your videos! Greetings from Germany.
These colors are super nice, especially the saffron❤ But if I had to spend this money on a watch, I still would go for an option with the 8900 caliber, that is amazing in my opinion.
I love my Aqua Terra 41, so I’m glad you made a video exclusively for the new 38mm Shades lineup and focused so much on the dials. The Terra-cotta reminded me of the video you did with Kevin O’Leary. He mentioned putting a red strap on it of course, and I got an idea: you should create a red strap challenge - a nod to Mr. O’Leary. Select watches with dials that really pop with a red strap. Let’s see which ones get the most enhancement from this move. This could be done in a wide set of price ranges…
Atlantic Blue and Bay Green are definitely my favourites! Too bad Omega has skyrocketed out of my budget by hiking their prices few hundred dollars every other month, would have otherwise owned one by now...
I have the terra cotta, saffron and bay green. They are beautiful - I prefer them over my Rolex OP41 collection. Bracelet is incredibly comfortable and I love the the size. I think these are a home run for Omega.
I think I was vindicated when I was probablly the first to say the date window made the Omega look shabby and needed to be lifted up .MIDO did this first and made their similar watches go from a yeah /nah to really popping. Omega has intelligently fixed up the original tackiness of the date window and it now looks Professional and outstanding.
I bought my Aqua Terra Terracotta 38mm with the frame on the date window at an Omega boutique in Rome on 25th of April 2023. I then got a dark green Alligator strap with a clasp at Omega's boutique in Cannes.
Dude! Beautiful thing those models! Good size, good polish, good bracelet, great dials colors, mostly for me that yellowish champagne kinda dial, and that nice sutil blue. Awesome
I have had this watch on my wrist and it does look great. But I’m not really happy with the price, so I managed to get a brand new Railmaster for £2.5k which is very underrated!
Hallo Teddy, thank you for this video, I really like that you always explain the whole inside and outside of the watch. It definitely makes me appreciate them more. The red color for me is very stricing. So as always love from Switzerland 🇨🇭
First like very much colors on dials Second I like most terracotta n Champagne? Third I love arrow minute hand Fourth love that the hours indicator moves independently and last but not least I like date on six! In general i love it 😍 😍😍😍😍
Nothing beats the 41mm AT’s, the detailed dial and 8900 calibre makes that watch a better buy in my opinion. However, the bracelet on the 38mm AT’s look great. Wish they’d have one for the 41mm’s too haha
The change to the date window is possibly a perfect retrofit. Usually when companies change things based on feedback, the result feels 'pasted on', as it was, quite literally, an afterthought from the original design. In this case (ahem) Omega really made it feel like it was supposed to be this way all along.
I've always preferred longer power reserves... I just got my first watch with on the fly micro adjust.... it's now non negotiable too... I need both those in my watches because I like to frequently rotate.
These watches are near perfect for my liking. I’d prefer a bit lower alignment of the date window (centered on the same circle on which the hour indices are centered), micro adjustment of the bracelet, and a bit more power reserve. None of those are deal breakers obviously, but Omega should continuously improve these things in the coming years if you ask me.
How do you know, just by looking at the price? This is still a brand belonging to the swatch group, I rather buy a rolex oyster perpetual for less than 7 grant
I think the date wheel is better off in white than color-matched to the dial. First, even at the same color it would be solid and would never fully match the sunburst dial, and second, it's standing in for the missing 6 o'clock marker, which should be silver and white (lume), so white background with silver frame is the perfect choice.
Love these. Great dials, great size. Date window is at six, where it should be, and framed beautifully (I'd be *very* unhappy if I'd bought an unfinished early model). Agree the shiny brick red is the star. I'd wear these beauties with pride anywhere.
I really wish brands would get on board with providing some kind of micro adjust ability (you too Grand Seiko!). I just think that should be an option at these price points. That said, I really love the terracotta and can't wait to see one in person. Great video!
The terra cotta version is still basically unavailable in the US. I checked with the Miami Omega boutique 3 weeks ago who said there was only one in any of their stores in the US (was in Honolulu).
Im no1 on the list in my omega boutique for the terra cotta and have been since release. Cannot wait, been agggges. Seeing a couple pop up around the world in stores thanks to watch forums, and now thanks to your video some more release clarification. I went in to buy another speedy but they happened to have the AT in red in the safe as a show and tell at the time. 2 seconds on my wrist and i paid for one on the spot. Great timing as it was travelling around stores for customers to have a look at and i’d seen them online, but in person, too nice.
I'm really interested in these. All efforts at anti-magnetism are appreciated, because once you get the plus COSC certification it needs to be maintained during daily wear.
Re. micro-adjustment: Teddy, the issue is not getting the watch perfectly sized *initially* , it's being able to adjust it throughout the day as your wrist swells and shrinks. I'm in Texas where, for 6 months out of the year, it is properly hot, meaning that when you go from an air conditioned vehicle/building to outside or vice-versa, you're experiencing a temperature change of around 20-40 degrees Fahrenheit. This inevitably causes your wrist to swell and shrink (and also eliminates leather straps as a possibility for most people). I refuse to buy a watch on a bracelet that does not have tool-free micro-adjustment at this point, I just won't do it.
Great review. Teddy, I'd love to see you review the stratotimer GMT from Jack Mason. True GMT for under $1k. I just picked one up and am incredibly impressed.
This is a great release for sure. Even with the date frame addition (an improvement), I don't understand why it took so long after announcement to start showing up at ADs/boutiques. I've been able to try some of these on at my local boutique and was really impressed, including with the comfort and finish of the bracelet. The lack of micro adjustment is definitely a complaint of mine when it comes to this line, and is one of the reasons I did not get the Railmaster, which wore beautifully on my 7.25" wrist. Even I really like the size of the 38.5mm ATs on wrist, so they can work with a wide range of sizes.
For a boring but excellent option, I have my 2503.50.00 first generation black dial. About a third of the cost, thin, and absolutely gorgeous.. worth checking out the early 2002-2008 ATs (they made them in black, blue, white, silver...)
Beautiful watch range. Adds a lot of youthful style to the Omega range that to be honest overall has a more old man watch feel to it that puts off younger buyers and even older buyers wanting something stylish but not the typical old mans watch look. Almost feels like they looked at Grand Seiko in some areas. Love it and might look at getting a green dial.
No micro adjust = No sale - love the Saffron dial - in person it's my favourite - one day they will learn to add the micro adjust until then - I'm keeping all my cash.
I like these models and the colours are spectacular! Question: did you observe sharp edges in the cases of these watches as seems to plague a significant proportion of Seamaster and Speedmaster watches lately?
Had a look at a boutique in London, a little small for my taste also no quick adjustment clasp at this price is taking the p1ss! My other half really liked the saffron but in the smaller case size they are comically thick. Bit underwhelming really. I’ve an 8500 AT and apart from updating the movement and throwing in some nice dial colours where are the improvements to actual wearability?
Thought they'd never get round to releasing these! Went into the boutique at least 4 times since March last year where even the rep joked that Omega were becoming like Rolex 🤦🏽♂️ I wonder if they will make these in neutral dial colours.
" ... big sigh ... " I'd buy all colour versions 😏 Or at least that Terra Cotta with the blue ... one of each colours bright and "all rounder". Nice watch to "shoot" for in a watch journey. Thanks for sharing.
Very Nice, I was ready to buy Last Year, decided to go with Aqua Terre Small Second instead. Teddy when are you going to be an Omega AD?? That would be Fantastic!! 😊
Definitely nice watches that I think will be popular. The dials are beautiful and the colors should fit a lot of taste. I have the blue Globemaster and love it. So a few things I would have liked to seen on it and it would have kicked Rolex's behind. One the clasp you mentioned, two at least another .7 to 1 mm off the thickness for more symmetry for the 38 mm case, and three the 8900 movement. In my opinion one of the reasons Rolex has dominated is because of the symmetry of the case sizes in so far as width, thickness, and lugs. They have a athletic style but with a slim classic look. Nice watches non the less and those dials are sexy! Good job as usual Teddy!
I got mine in sandstone and I absolutely love it. The bracelet is very comfortable.
