What is going on everybody, this is TGA, and I know everyone is going to mention it, but the unlocking didn't work on my drone, I'm having issues with it again, and I'm looking in to it.

I know tattoos are the in thing at this moment in time,however on a professional police officers arms, to me they just look chavy and should be made to cover them up when on duty.
'Security' .....GUTTED.. they were told by management in their 'training' they had more power than they actually have in real life. When will these 'managers' ever learn to read the Law before they conduct training sessions!?

I would not talk to security. They never will give permission and never know the law. If they say no and you ignore them then they cant get any blame.

The law states that unmanned surveillance aircraft are not allowed to be flown within 150 metres of a congested area, nor within 150 metres of an organised event that features an open-air assembly of in excess of one thousand people. That's why the laws that apply to planes carrying banners are different to those for drones and therefore it is illegal to fly over a stadium filled with people but not one that is empty.

I live within the restriction zone. Just unlock it in the DJI app. It takes 2 minutes then go can fly over. Just keep well above the level of the floodlights then you're not trespassing their airspace.
@@keithpop3097 Landowners have retained rights over the airspace, in, around and immediately above their property. (Bernstein v Anyways 1978). That's known as the "lower stratum". Certain rights are relinquished above that, in the upper stratum, to allow for the passage of aircraft. As for airspace ownership, the property "owns it" - to infinity (and beyond..!). Aircraft have rights but the property still has ownership. If you get approval to build a 1500ft mast on your property any aircraft take second place
Other than that, there's no clear definition. It would also depend on the nature of the property in question. Flying 100ft over a bungalow shouldn't incur a trespass. But flying over a football stadium with a height of 78ft and floodlights extending to 90ft just might. I'm sure we will see this tested sometime soon. All that's been tested so far is above 500ft for manned flight. Normally drones have a 400ft AGL ceiling.

Bernstiens lost their case - no trespass. And the judgement stated that the idea of infinite ownership would be absurd. Ownership only extends to ordinary use and enjoyment and the structures upon it.

Have you read the summing up by justice Griffiths? He acknowledged that properties and their owners DO have airspace rights, but above 500ft aircraft need to be given passage. The case was decades before drones so leaves a grey area on what defines airspace trespass but does qualify its existence.
Ownership does extend infinitely, or at least within the planetary limitations. You've got to acknowledge ownership is different to control. The CAA controls the passage of aircraft, but does not own it. Hypothetically, you could construct an enormous structure on your property (subject to planning and regs) and the CAA who previously controlled that space would have no say in the matter.

I flew my mini 3 pro over Elland Road last year (after unlocking the zone two days prior)
I was stood right next to the police station & flew over. Didn’t speak to anyone about it.. and didn’t have any problems either 👍😀

The officer did not inform you that he was filming you, he did not identify himself when he approached you, he did not tell the security to stop wasting police time. Where is the audit?

You could have connected your controller to a WiFi hotspot on your mobile phone and unlocked the zone as long as there's no match on its perfectly legal to fly over that stadium with your drone.
OK so I've heard what you said but that 8s not a no fly zone. I have seen may others fly in those areas they simply make a request via the app to the CAA who then either say yes or no if yes they send an unlock code to allow the flight even over the stadium. If there is no match on or some other event then they will unlock it. Security cards staff need updating on the law and teck so they understand that a drone can't just fly into a geo locked area and if they see one it me that the CAA have approved the flight whether they like it or not.

You need to understand the law properly, then you won't find yourself in this situation.
With a class 0 or sub 250 drone your fully entitles to fly in the open category over Elland Road. Yes, it's an Authorisation zone but provided you are a registered drone pilot with flyer ID from the CAA you can request this zone unlock either at the time of flying through the app or prior to flying through the DJI site.
