Makes me kinda sad that there's so many crappy people just throwing this stuff in lakes but at the same time glad there's people that are doing something about it and even found a way to make it fun, entertaining and profitable.
Right I can't get passed the dumping in the water supply? I mean people are just si ignorant selfish for sure. I mean leave it on the land or beach just don't throw it in the water. The homeless around here move themselves into the woods and then they leave everything imaginable. It's so disturbing. 😡 my husband and u started getting information that says whose stuff addresses etc anything identifying who dumped their house in my woods. So we and many other clean up what people leave behind and heck I have items in my house I kept lol. But forest service is grate to anyone who can help turn the mess in clean up if you can because it cost forest service to dump garbage. So we try to do our part so we can keep what we love until they ruin it for us. When u find broken glass (beer bottles) poopy diapers in the rivers streams lakes I just get so angry. Why do not people appreciate what we have been given to enjoy frustrated in Coeurd'Alene
In this area there are alot of the homeless people and drug addicts. I and surprised there were not alot of needles on the magnets. In some areas in Orange county where they did cleanups, there were thousands of pounds of trash, crap, needles. It is sick.
@Posh On Drip there was a trend to break/lose scooters on social media. This was when the big e-scooter companies just started renting them on the streets of city's, I expect the majority are from that
That is literally a gigantic un flushed toilet. Last time I saw MacArthur Park in early 2021 it was a homeless encampment. It has since been cleared; but it looks like the pond was never drained and cleaned. This guy is very brave and must have great health insurance and a very understanding wife.
What has kept me watching, supporting and loving this channel the last nearly 4 years is just how incredible Jake and the crew are for not only doing these clean-ups but also inspiring interest in viewers to go out and do the same in places around them. Such a loud voice in spreading awareness about water pollution as well as a major force to take action in water cleanup ❤️
Mite sound a little crazy to some ppl but you Sweetheart are a Blessing to so many. I really enjoy your videos and love to see you clean up nasy places.
By far the most disturbing thing about this is just the sheer amount of stuff people just throw into ponds... _-_ So many electric scooters... It shows how much people care about littering too. Not very much... I believe littering fines should be closer to $1,000 everywhere and enforced harder than seatbelts. 👍
I am so beyond joyful to say that I have been able to watch you grow into this amazing guy since 2014! Keep up the amazing work brother you are absolutely killing it.. Always a banger of a video and never leaves you disappointed.
What is so fun is you get just as excited today over the smallest find as you did when you started years ago. That cute face and silly giggle have added to your success.
I work two blocks down from MacArthur park. Not only CAN you find dead bodies in the pond, it's happened a couple of times over the past two years. You are braver men than I, wading into that cesspool.
So although Jake didn't state in the video, based on the shape of the pond/lake and the land markers at and around the park this looks like MacArthur Park in LA. If that is the case many of you may be happy to hear that the lake (as they call it from the website) as well as the park is going through a beautification process. Part of that process is supposed to be draining the lake to remove trash and garbage from the bottom. So hopefully it will get better.
An interesting side project he could do is try restoring some of the stuff he finds. I have watched so many videos of him picking and dredging stuff up from the bottom of lakes and rivers for so long it would be kinda cool to see him bring some of those things to like their former glory. He might also find it fun learning new things. Knives would be easy, though it would be awesome seeing him take on a big challenge like getting one of those electric scooters working. Heck if it is those public use scooters they might have a repair facility that would be cool with him coming by and seeing what they do.
Hopefully you guys are being safe as a mother of four boys nine grandsons and 2 great grandsons and 3greatgrand daughters and 1 very special granddaughter I worry about you guys but I love watching you dive. Keep up the good work from Elaine in Kentucky
In ponds with little or no water flow, they usually have some sort of aerator to prevent the buildup of the stuff that makes it stink. Maybe you should get a small raft or a piece of plywood floating on inner-tubes to stack the stuff you pull up onto.
You nailed it lol. Puncture resistant nitrile gloves are a 💯 must. If you get chemo gloves 🧤 it would be your best bet. Needle and Chemical resistant plus they go further up your arm.
Holy cow. THIS is in California? Why isn't the EPA involved and charging this city's officials with not cleaning up this environmental hazard. This pond should be raked/scraped/filtered from one edge to the other every year. This is horrible and pisses me off to hear Californian politicians and rich people complain about climate change when they can't even clean up their own surroundings.
You need a floating platform to ferry the stuff back to shore instead of carrying each piece and going back. You're currently cutting your throughput in half.
The pool net (found in a previous video of yours I saw) would be good to keep there and, if people were thoughtful, they could use it to scoop up any trash they saw floating and dump it in the trash containers.
I think they need to just drain the whole thing and clean it out. It just boggles my mind at what people will throw away into a body of water. All those scooters I think just some kid or kids grabbed them and road them off into the water for kicks and giggles. It would be nice if someone could fix part of those and donate them to kids who can't afford a bike. Instead of a magnet in this place, you just needed a scoop! This is just crazy!
Just a thought, but maybe next time, you could use a plastic floating boat or a kayak to pull along with you. That way, you can just throw whatever you find, assuming it's not too big, into that and just keep going! 🤙
Perhaps you should take a small inflatable boat or kayak with you out in the pond. That way you could save time and energy putting your finds in it without going back to the shore everytime you find something.
I just came back from Sanibel Island Fl after staying with some friends. They said there was over 100 cars missing from the island. Nobody knows where they went. No missing persons, just 100 cars. Just thought it might perk your interests.
So what baffles me is that the cops didnt take the knives to check against unsolved stabbings. Sure Dna would be gone but size of the wound and weather or not it was serrated could have helped in those cases
If that's a Man Made Lake, the council should Drain it, then clean, what's under all that water... Then replace it with Fresh water afterwards. Nd maybe put some fresh water fish in it, afterwards...
I can’t believe people just dump electric scooters in the pond. What is wrong with these fools? And why aren’t local authorities cleaning up that dirty pond? Seriously?
I would assume if anyone throws something that they dont want to be found, they throw it as far from the edge as they can. if they want to find it again, just hide it for now, they would just put it right in the corner in easy to find spot, so near that powerful fountain for example.
Geeze.. this is the perfect location to hold the Magnet Fishing Olympics.. seriously NOBODY would go home empty handed. It's Feb. right now and about another month I'll be pulling my magnets out & heading to the lake but I've never been anywhere that had finds like this. I appreciate you guys cleaning these places up, that's the fun part of the sport to me.
I'd recommend some Kevlar lined neoprene gloves. Waterproof and cut/puncture resistant. Worn by people who catch and process fish. Mainly colored blue.
I collect coins and I’ve never seen that coin before!! It’s so cool id love something like that in my collection what do you do with your found stuff id even be happy to pay you for it and cover shipping costs!! Worth an ask anyways :)

So glad to see Steve-o doing well :) he’s overcome so much.
I love your energy. Something about this you made magnet fishing entertaining for sure. Keep up the great content!
Never seen anyone so delighted to be splashing around in filthy black water. Jake your joy is infectious, just like that water.
The dude pulled out so many scooters that the water level dropped and they had to turn on the water to fill the pond back up.

This is an incredibly tiny man-made lake. I dont think the EPA are too concerned with little pools of water
All those electric scooters, unreal. What a difference Steve-O's new chompers made. :-)
Why is there so many scooters in there 😂😂😂😂😂 that city needs to drain that and completely clean it out and scrub it down and put new water.
Probably stolen and then dumped when they didn't need it anymore. Happens with bicycles where I live.
i wanna know who the hell is ever in a position where they're like "yeah you know what I'm gonna throw this office chair into the pond"

the number of scooters dumped in the water just shows how little respect some people have for other people's property

That looks like MacArthur Park. On the weekends, that place is packed with people. Yea, you should have had gloves.
A BRaVE man doesn’t wear gloves in there - that’s needle central!

Good thing electronic scooters are environmental friendly.
Y'all should rent one of those huge magnets that junk yards use. Could clean that pond in a single day! And think of the finds.
The coin is 10 cents of “Quetzal” from Guatemala CA
The City of LA should be cleaning up that place. So much money in LA and not a cent spent on keeping the city clean. WTF!
