I've been working on your methodology for about a month (2nd time) and this time I'm seeing much better results. This getting the club to go left seems to be the final piece to the puzzle. I had a bad back (ended up having back surgery that freed me up) and was a constant flipper rolling the hands over to close the face, it's been hard to trust that swinging left the ball doesn't go left. I played a quick 9 yesterday and it took a few holes and a few lost balls to start trusting the concept. Once I started trusting it I have never hit the ball so pure and on target in my life (the last 5 holes I played 1 under, I have never done that before). I look for forward to a better season playing golf. Mike you have changed my golf life, keep up the good work.......
Can't understand why anything Mike posts gets a thumbs down, probably knows more the swing and understanding how everything works than anyone out there.
Mike, thank you. My hook came back mid year and I took a lesson, but didn't help. I watched this video in the morning and took a few swings in the garage before going to the course for an afternoon round. Although it was a moderate grip change it felt easy to adjust to. I hit 13 of 14 fairways with most drives 10-30 yards longer than before. Heading over to sign up at Malaska golf for your online program.
Mike a Alaska is an outstanding instructor in his choice of words “liberating momentum” as FREEDOM and integrating natural swings with biomechanics; thank you Mike. You are an angel of golf!
Mike talks to people with care and class! You can tell he genuinely loves the game of golf and wants to share his current knowledge with others so they don't spend time struggling.
Ok I get it now. I've done this numerous times by accident and hit the longest drives of my life. Now gotta go work on doing it on purpose. :) Great tips as usual.
Wow that was a fab video , This young man has my swing tendencies aswell , that idea was explained to me before but in terms I couldn’t get my head around , This made more sense
Good gawd Mike is good!! Happy new year Mike. Thank you for all of your video posts. There's not a one that I have seen that didn't contain a chunk of knowledge and wisdom that is truly valuable. (The best part is the way you deliver the information - like being hit with a hammer...a beneficial hammer to be sure - but WHAM-o!) Wishing you a very happy 2023.
Hi Mike. You're the best. I do want to suggest we should care how much the hand works to lay off the club at the top. Because the body's reaction if we lay off the club st the top is to be symmetrical through impact to then roll the club face closed at impact. I'm just sayin I'm aware of when I'm (unintentionally) laying off the club face it makes me roll the club face closed later and pull hook it. Do you have any thoughts on that?
Hey Mike really am enjoying learning the game through you and your videos. I have a question: at what point in the swing do you want to feel like you’re swinging the hardest with your hands? I know in order to get the hands ahead, I need to feel the effort ahead of the ball. But is (the pulling the handle up and through to the left) where you need to feel like your max hand effort is? Thanks
See that shadow from the circular training thing in the background? The shadow....not the circular thing. That circle only meets up with the target line at the ball. We make the club go in the circle, the clubface makes the ball go down the target line.
If you will take the tip of swinging like in baseball, I was driving the ball 320 yards on several holes it really works and man it's so much fun and I'm more consistent now thanks a ton Mike your tips are the best!!!
This is great please can we have more on exiting left with some helpful thoughts and drills I know it features in some of the content but would great as a focus point
Do you do anything on the backswing to prepare for the swing out to the left? For instance your right wrist (for righties) shoots out to the left at impact, but does your wrist feel like it pulls back on the backswing? I for one have never been able to drag the handle at impact and really appreciate these kinds of tips for driver.
I cut my wrist at the top of my swing and when I see the video it makes a loop at the top. How can I stop this? I’m a six handicap and hit the ball good at times.I just wonder if the cupping is causing some of my shots to go right.
I've had PTSD from snapping it for some time years ago. It's horrible 😂. When I stand over a driver, my predominant fear is snapping it. Since I've been working on what Mike says, I don't snap it anymore but I still have the left heebie jeebies aka snap hooking ptsd
@@phenomoron the flow. A little pressure in the left that starts the swing, shift to the right then back to the left as the club nears the top. Just got a hole in one just now lol whoo hoo!!!!
This is a "Feels Like Move". In real time movement with proper weight shift to left side you never have to worry about that. Research his Joe Nichols swing video and you will understand.
The absolute best feel to have in order to achieve what Mike is wanting to happen here is this....feel like you're trying to put your left elbow in your left pocket on the downswing. It won't happen, it's a feel, feel that you're doing it. If you're doing everything else in Mike's program and just add this feel, distance and club head speed will increase dramatically. Remember, the golf swing is all about circles.
@@Jamruns Yep, Mike's is amazing, and it's a great feel. This video and others with Drew Cooper, really made me think about how to generate power. Good video. Looks identical to jim hardy oven mitt drill circa 2006. Good reminder
Nice change of thinking. I want to see this spectaculous lecture rt side of the player.
Great lesson I use an impact bag and swing at the bag to hit it with the toe of the club . Now I know why it works
Thank you Thank you! I've been concentrating on being more right handed and its really taken over.. with a pull or hook.
Mike you are an absolute beauty. Good for you
Would love to see this DTL MIKE.

Just watched a Mike Austin Video. Is this right hand movement the same he was promoting?
Loved that - very interesting
Agh i would pay for clarification on this motion. Where can I find this?

Not sure why I'm watching this. I still haven't figured out how to fix my slice...lol
Why do you swing to the left?
Throwing your club left, not down the target line.
Move the left foot back a bit.. fosters over the top path
Is this swing tecnique still relevant in 2024?
