  • There is a difference between playing for your potential misses vs. playing out of fear that your swing will break down under pressure. When setting up with your driver for a shot you know you have to aim left, what is going to keep you from duck hooking the shot?
Don't just play golf. Understand it.
You can watch the complete Player Lesson series with Michael Garden as a member at malaskagolf.com. We go from the practice green to the driving range. It's a must see for golfers at every level.

Can't understand why anything Mike posts gets a thumbs down, probably knows more the swing and understanding how everything works than anyone out there.

I've been working on your methodology for about a month (2nd time) and this time I'm seeing much better results. This getting the club to go left seems to be the final piece to the puzzle. I had a bad back (ended up having back surgery that freed me up) and was a constant flipper rolling the hands over to close the face, it's been hard to trust that swinging left the ball doesn't go left. I played a quick 9 yesterday and it took a few holes and a few lost balls to start trusting the concept. Once I started trusting it I have never hit the ball so pure and on target in my life (the last 5 holes I played 1 under, I have never done that before). I look for forward to a better season playing golf. Mike you have changed my golf life, keep up the good work.......

Good gawd Mike is good!! Happy new year Mike. Thank you for all of your video posts. There's not a one that I have seen that didn't contain a chunk of knowledge and wisdom that is truly valuable. (The best part is the way you deliver the information - like being hit with a hammer...a beneficial hammer to be sure - but WHAM-o!) Wishing you a very happy 2023.

Hey Mike really am enjoying learning the game through you and your videos. I have a question: at what point in the swing do you want to feel like you’re swinging the hardest with your hands? I know in order to get the hands ahead, I need to feel the effort ahead of the ball. But is (the pulling the handle up and through to the left) where you need to feel like your max hand effort is?
    Thanks

Hi Mike. You're the best. I do want to suggest we should care how much the hand works to lay off the club at the top. Because the body's reaction if we lay off the club st the top is to be symmetrical through impact to then roll the club face closed at impact. I'm just sayin I'm aware of when I'm (unintentionally) laying off the club face it makes me roll the club face closed later and pull hook it. Do you have any thoughts on that?

  • @ignorance123
    @ignorance123 3 роки тому

Do you do anything on the backswing to prepare for the swing out to the left? For instance your right wrist (for righties) shoots out to the left at impact, but does your wrist feel like it pulls back on the backswing?
I for one have never been able to drag the handle at impact and really appreciate these kinds of tips for driver.

See that shadow from the circular training thing in the background? The shadow....not the circular thing. That circle only meets up with the target line at the ball. We make the club go in the circle, the clubface makes the ball go down the target line.

I cut my wrist at the top of my swing and when I see the video it makes a loop at the top. How can I stop this? I’m a six handicap and hit the ball good at times.I just wonder if the cupping is causing some of my shots to go right.

This is a "Feels Like Move". In real time movement with proper weight shift to left side you never have to worry about that. Research his Joe Nichols swing video and you will understand.

I've had PTSD from snapping it for some time years ago. It's horrible 😂. When I stand over a driver, my predominant fear is snapping it. Since I've been working on what Mike says, I don't snap it anymore but I still have the left heebie jeebies aka snap hooking ptsd

The absolute best feel to have in order to achieve what Mike is wanting to happen here is this....feel like you're trying to put your left elbow in your left pocket on the downswing. It won't happen, it's a feel, feel that you're doing it. If you're doing everything else in Mike's program and just add this feel, distance and club head speed will increase dramatically. Remember, the golf swing is all about circles.

@@Jamruns Yep, Mike's is amazing, and it's a great feel. This video and others with Drew Cooper, really made me think about how to generate power. I did this while using a trigger move similar to Henrik Stenson, and all I can is wow, my swing became much more powerful & dynamic. Check these two videos. ua-cam.com/video/sq5bWKSlVcc/v-deo.html
      ua-cam.com/video/5uWigK12xNY/v-deo.html
Also check out reprogramming videos on Dr. Kwon's UA-cam channel. You will be amazed by what happens to your swing. Everything comes together without thinking, just reacting. He has a number of videos that are definitely worth taking time to watch. These two are great.
