Thanks to my sister Sherry for being vulnerable and sharing her home with UA-cam!! Forgot to mention the stair stepper will be donated... it was just too heavy for us to move. Anyhoo I think this is a great start!! Leave a comment if you want to see more 😍❤

What struck me in this video is how you were so respectful and peaceful when removing items. You asked her what she wanted all the way through the process and let her come to the decisions to get rid or remove items. That is how it is done right there! Bravo and it looks great!

Those metal carts to store chips or flour are not good for people trying to stay organized and only works for people who are organized. It's still visual clutter and will only contribute to the same actions

That's very helpful. Her furniture needs to be re-arranged to give it a different appearance. Separate the areas. Looking inward. Her sofa need to be facing her living room window. Open up the covering, let light come in. Need one nice piece that can hold the items kept and placed at dining room table instead of all those individual pieces. Need area rugs to define the spaces. Great job otherwise.

This will be a great series, Carla. We can see your sister’s stress and anxiety decrease as she decides on individual items and faces the reality that she likes high end things which makes it difficult to toss away, even if we don’t like it. Like many of us, c19 increased our “stock-up” mentality which got away from us making us look like hoarders. Please thank her for allowing us to walk along this journey with her.

It doesn’t take a lot for a house to get out of control. We’ve all been there. Illness, work, life changes, even a 2 week vacation leaving a husband and 17 year old grandson to fend for themselves 😉 The good thing is once you start cleaning and seeing the improvements, it usually snowballs. Thanks to your sister for sharing and always to Carla for caring.

You two tackled a lot in 4 hours ! It's nice that your sister was ready to let go of things. It's interesting how having that week away at the Air B&B helped her to feel the difference of a more minimal space in comparison to her own home. I'd say that most of us have a lot more than we need. It's easy to get caught up in spending. I think it's great that she is also committed to a no spend month. I've done that before too. I hope you continue on with her house in weekly video's.

You are so kind and thoughtful and encouraging so it makes sense that you attract people who watch someone being vulnerable about their struggle and don’t have a criticism or cruel judgment to offer up, just praise and kindness. 19:50 I would have moved the love seat forward and put the elliptical behind it and face it the other way. It’s quite a difference, you both are so patient with each other. I have to go to my parents place soon and we’re gonna be decluttering. There’s barely any space to walk around in their basement. My dad still has paperwork from the 80’s 😱 He also still has briefcases from that era he’s never gotten rid off. I think something happened in their family when he was young bc he and his siblings are all hoarders. I’m overwhelmed every time I go to their place but being in their 70’s now, it’s time they have a nice and uncluttered home. I told my mom we’d clean until it’s done.

Your sister is a doll!!! I loved this video, really liked seeing the small shelving units gone, I think they just collect clutter, so as you remove things they are so much easier to get rid of. Great job ladies!

Amazing changes in a short amount of time! Great work!!!! It is so important for my decluttering clients to understand that it is KEY that they stop the flow of items coming into their home if they want to have lasting change. I love the idea of a 30-day commitment to not buying anything. Feels more do-able than "stop buying stuff" in general. This was the first video of yours I have watched -- thoroughly enjoyed it. You have a new subscriber. 🙂

you two did such a good job in that time!! it's great that staying somewhere else helped her understand how nice it is to live in a decluttered home. it also seems to be easier to declutter food than other items (even though it hurts to throw it out, you don't want to keep old food), so it's a good category to get momentum going.

You two did a really good job. I know Sherry will enjoy her neat space. Lots of people have rooms like this but are reluctant to get help clearing them because they think they are the only ones.

This was a fantastic declutter video! I really needed this. I watch declutter videos all the time, but this video really stuck with me!
We lost our youngest daughter(35) to covid 2 years ago. She lived with us & I'm the one who found her.
Our house is still cluttered with some of her things & I have added to the clutter. I just couldn't get rid of her stuff at first because it felt like i was throwing her away a piece at a time. I got rid of 3 pickup loads then i had to stop. I have started doing a bit at a time again. I liked how you both got in there & made the different bags. I'm going to do the same thing.
It seemed as if it got easier for your sister as you went.
I think if I do that, then it will become easier for me to donate things also.
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!

I'm glad it helped! We will keep going a little at a time. I was back there again today and some days we can only work for 30 minutes before stopping. It's not easy work but every little bit helps and adds up over time. I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter😔❤️

You both did such a great job in a 1/2 day! I bet she felt fantastic with the wonderful results. I love watching you for motivation. Today I put 2 cartons of books in my trunk, gave a plastic storage unit to a neighbor, reorganized my laundry room, and hooked up an antenna so I can stop paying for cable! 🥳

KUDOS to your sister!!! It's not easy making that first choice and move to declutter and she made it!!!
To see her sitting at her cleared off, polished table at the end; she looked as if a huge weight had been lifted off of her shoulders. It resonated through the screen.
Thank you for sharing your journey with us Ms. Sherry. I'd loved to see more, if you're willing.
Thank you both for being such beautiful sisters to one another. Family is everything. 😍🥹🫂
