Wonderful video. Learning so much from your videos about the CX5 2.2D engine. I am not a trained mech but I have managed to replace a few engine components on a CX5 based on your videos. Thanks again.
From the bottom of my heart thank you both. If you remember my comment from the last time you help me to diagnose an overheating issue with was the coolant bypass. I’m here with good new to say I’ve successfully change that along with my rear exhaust camshaft and vacuum pump. My car is running fine again. Much praise and thanks to you both
Классное видео, узнаю много нового 👍, продолжайте снимать, очень жду выши видео! Thanks guys for video very interesting. For anyone got promlem with their mazda I recommend this boys. Done my mazda cx5 carbon clean and camshaft replacement. Thank one more time
Another great video guys, always informative. I see that you guys have a few engines out, do you guys remove the engine out the bottom of the vehicle or up out of the engine bay? , I haven't seen you replace the plastic coolant bypass with the upgraded metal style coolant bypass. It would make sense to do it if you have the inlet manifold off, and it would save the customer from additional expense if it starts to leak. I haven't used heat to clear the exhaust pressure sensor tube, I have always used an old style speedometer cable in a cordless drill to clear the tube. Thanks again for the videos, keep doing what you are doing and keep improving.
We remove the engine from the top, only because we wanted to try it that way. Peter Kennedy removed it from the bottom with 2post lifts, Dan has already removed his one from the front by taking the bumper off, so we said let's try it from the top. Which is actually fairly easy if it is 2wd. We haven't experienced that pipe leaking but I am not saying it can't or won't and also we can only do so much what the clients ask us to do. ;)
Another wonderful video with lots of information about this engine. My question is that I had the camshaft on my 2.2 skyactiv engine replaced at the original Mazda dealer service, I paid roughly 2200 euros so I'm a bit curious how reliable it will be now. I asked if the new camshaft was better, they said of course, but when I asked if the problem with the new camshaft would still persist, they just said maybe yes, maybe no. I've heard that after replacing the camshaft with a better one, it's supposedly going to be fine, it just needs to be given proper maintenance.
Another great video. I have to take the engine out of my cx5. Is it best to remove from the top and can it be removed with the trans as one complete unit. Thanks in advance.
Hi great work as usual, done all this to mine but I'm getting quite a lot of pressure from rocker cover cap which is causing a sump leak, any breather pipe I should be looking for that could be blocked. Tia 👍🏻
Hi where are you based followed you and done several jobs Carbon clean etc but now have major problems on cx5 2013 . Standing ticking over (after a service) engine suddenly lost 3 cylinders only number one lefthand one looking from front running 2,3 and 4 dead. Diagnostic giving no codes garage have taken compression tests via heater plugs. cylinder 1 okay 2,3,4 nil compression. The garage is not willing to investigate further as never had one of these before so your location would be appreciated or contact details. Being unable to find these on here. Regards David Williams
Investigate: overheating. Carried out cylinder head detection test- Failed. Has Co2 in coolant. Requires cylinder head removal to investigate head gasket failure and flat bar cylinder head to check if warped/within tolerance. If cylinder head is within tolerance and not warped, will require new gaskets, injector seals and timing chain kit. (£3,914.72+VAT) If cylinder head is not within tolerance/warped, will require new cylinder head, gaskets, injector seals and timing chain kit. (£5,368.29+VAT)

Hi, I can't exactly remember. Do you mean the pipe underneath the intake manifold?

Have you been away, saint? It's been a while, another informative article 😊
Kinda yes, we were/are very busy so weren't really recording. Tried to get the work done in the first place ;)
Welcome back😊
Great insight into these cars, thank you !

According to our knowledge the new camshaft is an upgraded one so it shouldn't wear.
@@MrNiceGuy94 Are the replacement camshaft you use a Mazda item or do you use aftermarket. Thanks.

The breather is on the top right corner of the valve cover.
Also you may have the DPF blocked and that's causing the excessive pressure.
I'm dreading replacing my 2010 2.2D Mazda6 as it will end up with the Skyactive engine. They seem to be a right pile of *****

Hello David, could you please message me on my facebook page? Same profile pic and username as on here.
Have you ever had to work on the skyactiv X
Not yet buddy.
Just been quoted £5500 by Mazda dealer to fix heating and cooling issue on 2017 CX5. Gobsmacked 😢
What is exactly wrong with it?
