Last night I saw the Erebus looking at me with its beady eyes. I picked it up and I plugged it in and there was no sound. I don’t play this synth enough and I even forgot how it works. I thought probably I need to send something to the GATE input. I just want to make a sound, what is the easiest way? Oh yeah! I can send the LFO output into the gate. Still no sound. I check the filter, it’s on. I turn the RESONANCE up and… that was it. Erebus was ready to rumble. And what an insane sound. That filter sounds incredible. It’s like Moog but better. Somehow. The ECHO is an integral part of this instrument so the settings for delay time and feedback were crucial for this patch.
So, in detail: I’m hitting the Gate with the output of the square LFO. I have the filter completely closed and the envelope is controlling the frequency. This way I’m getting an even harder and sharper hit and I have 3 parameters from the envelope (Attack, Decay, Sustain) that react with the filter in different ways. These are my main controls for this jam. When I have the Erebus going I can also open and close the oscillators (genius idea to have that possibility) and change their shape. Such a simple patch, so many possibilities. This one is for the books.

Amazing, I wouldn't have think about repatching the ENV to the filter.
I have an Erebus too :D the signal is so precise and powerful.
does your unit also have a strange behavior with AMP release ?
With the release slightly up, when the NOTE OFF kicks in, the sound actually rise up a little bit before going down in volume. it's kind of annoying and it limits my use of the Erebus.
Is this only my unit ?
It's only thru hole components inside so maybe there is a doable mod, or if I'm lucky maybe there is a trimpot but I doubt it.

I miss my V2. Sold it, got the reissue… but the 5v power changes that last 5%
Ah interesting that it makes such a difference.
I have both V2 and the reissue and they sound the same to me, but I haven't compared side by side. If I had to choose one it would definitely be the Reissue because of osc sync and Eurorack compatibilty. Erebus logo is cooler on the reissue as well :) Would sell my V2 with little regret.
