    Wood and stone spam tends to be fair more effective than heavy armour. I think it's not worth having ha as part of the hull if you have enough space to have 5m of metal or 10m of stone or 25m of wood for the same cost.

      Yeah you are probably right about that, I think I leave it for now, but I might reconsider when I know where I will place my turrets and stuff, perhaps a stronger interior bulk armour would be a good idea, also thinking to not go overboard with blockcount but as long as we are not using the pumps it might be OK

    I'm pretty sure beam slope spam is better than wedge spam, especially on broadsiders

      multiple layers of beamslopes then? But what is the reason for that?

      @@GMODISM Beam slopes have the same amount of hp as wedges, but they are sideways. Therefore 4m of beam slopes has 4x as much hp as a wedge. The difference in angle damage reduction is not enough to make up the difference.

    To be honest, on the armor i would just make it kind of medium ish with a lot of ERA. I found that no matter how much you armor your boat, you will most likely not stop doom CRAM's or any somewhat powerful full rail railguns. Any railgun with a total of 1.8 million+ AP*KD railgun will without any problems rip through multiple layers of stacked heavy armor. However, if this railgun shell holds any payload at all. HE/EMP. Instead of ripping through all armor and blowing up inside it is stopped dead in its tracks and explodes at the point the ERA is. Even if it has a total of 8 million AP*KD, if it just has a little payload and hits an ERA block it is instantly stopped. The only thing you cant armor against no matter what is a high pen railgun shot that has no payload, but almost no crafts at all use that anyways.

      Yeah, I don't wanna be over my 100k block count, but I hear you, I might have to stick some more staggered era in there because you are right no one can armour against crams anyways.

    I enjoy seeing what you create. I would think in the 2M class you need more armor. Make it thick, specially if you're going to make it a one sider. Double the cheaper armor. Even all alloy isn't bad. I know you like it floaty. You also like the big alpha strike, offence heavy ships. I would agree CRAMs offer big bang for buck. I like CIWS, they offer both offence and defense. I guess your plan is to have a bunch of little ones along the sides. A big one center front and center back mite be better than the sniper turret and use the area on the side of turrets for block spam. It's harder to shoot a hole through layers and layers of blocks. You could have 20 layers, side of ship to turret filled. Alloy floaty, and steel for more protection. Could even be slopes to cut down of costs. Think front sider but on the side. Just something to think about. Good luck and have fun.

      Thanks for the feedback, I think however that it's not worth it to spend on armour to stop something like sabot railguns, maybe I'll need to change this but currently I wanna have my budget towards dealing damage.

    What’s the point of having huge armor on the side yet one block on the deck

      Theory is guns from afar will hit the sides, not the top. Also because it is fighting an enemy battleship, in water, roughly the same height.

      That is quite true, most damage will come from the side and not from above

    I love the strategy you're going for here, however, you may want to increase your armors thickness. The current thickness of your armor is only 8 meters, compared to 11 meters for the Ragnarök, which is a broadside. I'm not a battleship expert by any means, but that discrepancy seems a bit large. Might I suggest doubling the armor width to 16 meters? That would give you a comparable total armor cost to the Ragnarök, but would allow you a nearly 50% armor advantage when you reach right side position. Thanks for not spamming missiles or ERA, that will make this a lot more fun to play with in the workshop when it's done. I'm sure the final ship will be badass as hell! Love the content!

      Since the secret advicers big wooden builds I have understood that size and bulk may matter more that armour itself, we will have thinner armour yes, but a larger budget to deal damage too.
      I will have to use some AMMs later on, but will not spam them I hope, also intend to not use a VLM damage missile system at all because they are unlikely to get through the defences... But yeah, no missile spam and only era where it matters the most, like probably on ai XD

    Are you going to make a right sider? Arent there some competitions that ban those?

      Possibly that is so, but as frontsiders are allowed one siders should be I'd think, but I am not building for someone else's ruleset

    If you are making a sided ship, I suggest putting the turrets offset on the far deck and filling the midspace with missiles, torpedoes, redundant storage / engines / ammo is good towards the center / airtanks (water pumps cause lag? I haven't had any problems with this but haven't built anything with huge volumes / more than 10 pumps on the craft).
    I am thinking more of a ranged ship that stays as far away as possible, good CWIS / lams, strong missiles, long range APS guns, and a particle cannon or series of cannons. Probably a frontal bombardier, a rather wide craft or multi hulled. Heavy frontal armor and layered shields. I have an airship like this that seems to be shredding NPC ships, has been shot down a few times so I added emergency balloon deployers. Needs more testing

      I did just that for the Fred battlecruiser build series, and it worked, beats the stronghold with less than half its material cost!

      Btw only the first shield counts, the other ones are just redundant but wont increase deflection chance.
