I just grabbed one of those Earthway 2600s for $150. I can finally throw away my Scott's spreader I bought 20+ years ago and have been rigging it back together ever since.
I wish my 2600 had that pin like yours my rod constantly comes out and I got to rap the end in tape to keep it on. Take your pin out and you can experience how the old version worked. One of these days I just got to get some JB weld and fix a bolt or something to the end for good.
Recently used my new 2600 to spread fert for first time and I’m noticing dark stripes. I spread the fert back to the tire marks of the previous swipe. I got rid of my Scott’s Edgeguard because it was terrible about creating stripes. How far over do you spread with the 2600?
Not easy to put together and paper instructions leaves out steps. Found a video that was helpful but required assistance to hold some parts while tightening bolts.😢
finally got my 2600 and i have to say ive been lazy and the setting is way off as far as how much it spreads. I need weigh like you mentioned and then +offset because im left with more than 30% and it should be more like 0%. super annoying because if the granule size is larger i barely get any out
Does the earthway have plugging issues? I notice there’s nothing to sweep around the drop holes to keep the product moving. Or is it really just a matter of buying higher quality product that doesn’t clump in the bag?
Has anyone else had an issue installing the control rod into the shut off plate? The assembly instructions say the hole is key shaped but mine is not, its a yellow circle shaped hole and the control rod is square shaped so it seems impossible to fit through.
Feel free to crap on the Scotts spreaders. Because that is what they are; crap. I have been a DIY lawn care guy for 38 years. The Scotts quality had gone down tremendously, especially over the last 5 years. I currently have an Earthway 2150(now 5 years old), a Scott's Elite (less than a year old), and a Scotts handheld. The Mini? I've gone through 3 in 5 years. Not worth the money and aggravation. An Echo RB60 is a better purchase. The Earthway was at least 2 beers or 50 swear words to assemble, but is my go to spreader.
Anyone have issue with this spreader throwing heavily on left side? I see no fix for this and many people have been posting the same issue in lawncare forum
I think the answer is very much subjective. It’s definitely a price vs. performance trade off. The mini has been accused of an uneven coverage and leaving streaks, There’s a guy with a channel called tommy tester. He made two videos about this. search for “tommy tester spreader patterns” and “tommy tester spreader distribution” for an eye-opener why the higher-end models are probably worth the cost.
i do not recommend the Earthway; it's not well-made for the price you're paying. its dispenser adjustments is inaccurate and hard to adjust. don't fall for the "Made in USA" label because it's simply not a good product.

Just received mine today. I found the assembly video easy to follow. I listened to a couple sections twice but not bad.
I loved my Earthway 2600, but I wish they made one the size of the Scott’s mini for us little yard guys. Earthway was and has been my favorite.
With my Earthway have noticed really have to go at a pretty good pace, to get to spread nicely.

Just wish the open/close of the earthway handle was the same direction as the Scott's which I'm more used to.

I hate my edgeguard mini. Is this overkill for a 2500sq ft lawn?

I just put mine together yesterday. The part that goes into the key hole is shaped to go in one way. Maybe your trying to use the wrong end
Having to put it together and not having spring for the latch was enough to not buy it I choice the Echo and was even 50ish dollars cheaper.

I wonder why the 2600a is $191 and the earthway 2150 is a whopping $440 with tax. I’d like to find a comparison video of the two spreaders.
I was wondering the same but i think one is commercial and one is residential. I think commercial has bigger tires and more heavy duty
