This is a mom who has taken on the incredible task of teaching her son at home which isn't easy so I don't see the benefit in nit picking everything. To much stuff on the walls. scissors are to big, toys are going to fall and so on.... Geez. Sorry I know there are a lot of positive comments but it just bugged me how people can be so judgmental. I have 4 kids of my own and cant imagine how some parents do this and I'm kind of jealous. My kids are 14, 11, 7 and 2 and I seriously don't think I could survive so I really admire parents that do this for their kids.
What a wonderful mother and teacher you are, Heather. Mina will catch on and be so ahead of the game at this age. Enjoy every moment of this time. Love you...
I'm also a first time homeschool mom! We just finished getting our classroom set up. It's so cool to see your room. It looks so inspiring and fun for your kiddos. Have a blessed, blessed year!!
I know that I'm late to the homeschool room reveal party BUT I love it! It is so much fun setting up a homeschool hangout, so much discovery learning for Mina and tons of "Aha!" moments for Mason...Oh! And hugs and kisses! Homeschooling mamas pass out tons of hugs and kisses! I hope that you guys have an absolutely fabulous homeschool year!
+Gra8ful8 THANKNYOU soooo much, sweet mama. You have no idea what your comment means to me. Your name is famous around here. I think my husband almost feels like he knows you he has to hear about you and your homeschool so much. 😂😂😂😂 I admire you immensely. ❤️
Why am I always so late to the party!? Lol! I actually think that a three year old tiny human (who shall remain nameless) clicked my message icon so I missed more than a few messages! Bless your hubby's heart! He's probably tired of hearing my name! Lol! Thanks so much for your kind words! You truly put a smile on my face today!
I knew you could do it. You plan thoroughly and with your love and devotion to your kids and family, you'll do great and Mason will sense your enthusiasm and continue to be excited with you.
Nice having the school room near the kitchen. Fun seeing the manipulatives you have in your classroom. It is attractive and I like the kidney table too - and your adult chair! Wall decorations are fun looking. Thanks for sharing. Good luck!
It's so nice to see a mom who absolutely loves her kids and will do anything to make their life better. I can't have kids, so I love seeing the things you and Matt do for them. Very very sweet family you have Heather:)
I have always enjoyed your videos, very much:). You have the hardest job of all yet you do it with a smile! Your kids and husband appreciate you more then words, just look at their faces!! Mason and Mina are the cutest babies I have ever seen. These videos are so fun. Your recipes are always a hit!
Hey, I'm a teacher. I love watching other peoples videos in classrooms and homeschool rooms! Your video actually gave me some really awesome ideas. Thank You!
I think you out did yourself this time girl.... that looks amazing, your 1st attempt at HS design looks better than some in school nurseries I have seen, You grouped your themes together very well , everything has a nice, logical flow about it.... hope your 1st day went well
Just lovely! Your son will be so excited and Mina will want to learn too! How fun for them and how fulfilling for you as well Best wishes for full success!
How fabulous Heather, you did such an amazing job with the room I absolutely love this set up. Mason is going to have a wonderful school year with you at home.
Wow! The white board was $20.!!!! I love your set up! I have older children as well! We have a few things in common especially with the choices of learning activities! The kidney shaped table is so ideal! I didn't get it because of lack of space and because I needed more storage.tfs!
so love your room so am thinking hard about home schooling especially with my 5 year old son been praying on it anyway hope yall have a great year in your new journey be blessed and thanks for sharing your family
+Homemade Home praying on it helps. To which direction you should go. Asking for guidance. I was not sure what the best thing to do for Mason and Mina was and the path to homeschooling opened up for me. I just followed what THE MOST HIGH called for me to do. Everyone has their path. I pray yours becomes clear for you. I know how heavy on my heart it once sat. So I am sending heart hugs to you sweet Mama!!!!! I hope your calling becomes clear for you soon. Xoxox
This room is awesome!! and its awesome how many kids you have! We are also going to be homeschooling and want lots of kids :D thanks for the ideas of a homeschool room!
Holy Moly Heather!!!! That looks professional -- only better! My poor kids get (got) a kitchen table, books, notebooks, and a laptop. Of course, we started homeschooling when they were 4th and 5th grade, so those important foundation basics were behind them. I am thinking I will have to put my girls back in public school next year (for high school). I makes me sad, but Momma just isn't smart enough, nor has enough time to learn to teach the upper subjects (that I personally hated and struggled with in high school, i.e. Geometry, Chemistry, Physics, etc.) Plus, the supplemental resource programs I've found are just too expensive to have two enrolled in. I wish we got to keep our property taxes if we don't use the public schools. . . yeah, dreaming on that one, eh?! At any rate, Mason and Mina are so blessed with all your efforts!!!
+Michigansnowpony this is my fear as well when Mason and Mina get older. Then again, that is some years away and I have no idea what kind of world we will be living in by then. Or if homeschool will even be legal the way we are going. Gosh girl, we should swap numbers and chatty chat on the one day!!!! I looked into that Ron Paul curriculum but fainted at the price. Hahahha it's great for high school tho but man, the price!!!!! It's like private school!
+Michigansnowpony Renee do you subscribe to Erica? Her channel is called gra8ful8. She has 6 kids. One is now in college and the other in high school. She is our age and homeschools. She is a former 5 th grade science teacher but she has amazing ideas for easy, inexpensive curriculum for high schoolers. Most homeschooling moms I watch all have littles. Not many our age with older kiddos. She is super sweet and extremely helpful. You could always reach out to her, maybe she has some ideas? I saw she bought her son in high school a microscope and slide from Amazon and I couldn't believe how affordable they were. Hahaha she gave me some hope! Of course, I have 2 boys graduated and they would have been better learning life skills vs chemistry and algebra4!!!!! Like how to cook, clean, open and manage a bank account, things we had to teach them on the side that they don't offer in public school. Anyhow I am rambling. Hahahahaha check out her channel!!!! I think she may have a video on her high school curriculum!!!!
If you don't mind my asking do you have a budget for your homeschool year? How much did you spend on all of this? I am just starting out and find there are so many things to buy!
lol I am only 8 minutes in but I had to say u could save the puff things and do in door bowling and if you save enough you could almost make two lanes not only get the kids involved you and Matt to
+bubbles6114 Laura Hahahaha awesome idea. But she doesn't really like the puffs now that she eats adult food. Hahaha she snubs all baby foods now. Hahahaha she has had a taste of the good stuff!
+The Kneady Homesteader lol well get with some mom's in your area lol it will be double duty toys lol and you can still use them for storage too. they also do wonderful for pre measuring ingredients for the kids to cook with you in the kitchen. u can put the dry ingredients in them and then they can pour them in just a few more ideas lol
Thanks for sharing! Just wondering, how do you stick things on the walls so that you can remove them later? I've used the sticky clay, but doesn't always work so great. Any suggestions?
What curriculum do you use? Can you do a video on the curriculum you are using and some of your lesson plans? I have a 4 year old and I want to start teaching but don't know where to start. I'm also in need for a good curriculum. Which ones would you recommend?
+newcheveu I made one last night for ya! Just check my last video on my page or near the end of this video input the link in a card! 😄 I went with preschool palace. The link to the cd I bought is in the description bar. 😀 so much to choose from but I love the one I chose!
Wow, what a great room. Just hoping those crayons are USA made or crayola brand. You have helped me so much with EWG awareness. Crayons not made here have toxins.

If you have 10 of the puff containers you can do a DIY bowling set, you just need a ball. Its really a fun way to teach counting up to 10.

What adhesive do you use to attach things to your walls?
Thanks for sharing! Just wondering, how do you stick things on the walls so that you can remove them later? I've used the sticky clay, but doesn't always work so great. Any suggestions?
those 3M Command Hooks are awesome! I also use push pins for high up stuff and low stuff, i use packaging tape! LOL
What curriculum do you use? Can you do a video on the curriculum you are using and some of your lesson plans? I have a 4 year old and I want to start teaching but don't know where to start. I'm also in need for a good curriculum. Which ones would you recommend?
