- Easy and fun! In this DIY tutorial, I will explain how I created this romantic vintage style curtain backdrop in my studio. With a few simple curtain panels, thrifted lace, jewelry and bedsheets you can create this exquisite, custom, one of a kind curtain....all with scissors and a glue gun!

Our Dear Ms. Myers: Another inexpensive way to get yardage for the curtains themselves is fabric drop cloths! They are huge, inexpensive, and have a great texture.Thrifted sheets work well but you may not get enough matching (assuming you want matching😅!) sheets for a curtain set. In that case, Walmart sells solid color flat sheets in all sizes for very low prices for sheets, and you can get multiples that match perfectly.

I could hardly consider them properly, all I could think about was how would that lace look in strips for fringe, or swaths for ruffles! I kid you not. True Story! 😆😅🤣

I know what you mean. I deliberately buy curtains that are too short, so the adorable shedding machine I call my cat can't sleep or play in them.
I just found you accidentally a few months ago and you are beautiful and sweet and generous to share your stylish creations. I have accumulated a lot of "stuff" in my 80 years and you are so inspirational. I never heard of "snippets" until I saw yours and WOW I had to know more. In one video the lady made hearts that were decorated in different sizes and if decorations were washable, could go on jackets or clothes. I have not seen all your videos so you may have done this idea. I Then I remembered I saw ladies decorating bra undercups into "purses" with the straps as purse straps . I thought Tracie would decorate them with lace and ribbons, etc. I thought I wanted to tell you. Maybe you already do them, but I also want to Thank You.

I buy boxes of used jewelry off eBay It is surprising what you can find in a bag or box of miscellaneous jewelry some broken some not! My daughter made me a jelly fish with 8 tentacles and I used gems and strands of pearls or other strands of “bling” to create more tentacles.

I was actually watching some tutorials on window dressing on UA-cam. And I came across this video that had all of these beautiful sceneries and artwork on curtains and I just thought they were beautiful. So I went looking for them. Wayfair have the most beautiful selection… but they can be very pricey. Amazon also has them. But the selection is not that great… and you can get them in most any style you like. I did purchase a pair for my patio door, but my grandson took them when he got married lol. But yours are by far gorgeous. I just love the beating work the jewels and the fringes all of that is just absolutely amazing and it definitely would go with my aesthetic. You’re wonderful my friend 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

Our problem is most of windows are huge, like 8 to 10 feet long. It's been too expensive between the curtain and curtain rod!

When I was on a tight budget in the 80's I used Calico, comes in different thicknesses and quality and a great neutral, I had huge bay windows in my Edwardian flat, sooo would be expensive. @@tmyershandmade978 have you done any sewing with painter drop clothes? I've seen curtains online, a couple of times, but never really checked them out in a store, to see what the weave is like. That's another great way to get BIG fabric, for low cost, if the quality is good.

I am so enjoying your tutorials! I had the idea to do the floral patch jeans like you did, but for thrifted children's jeans/overalls for resale. What could I use to embellish the little jeans , in addition to the flowers being that they need to be washed so frequently? Thanks so much for sharing your gift with us.
That sounds sooo adorable! Maybe bows, lace, braided yarn belt. I painted floral jeans once and took a simple (kind of wide) piece of tulle, used it as a belt and made the prettiest fluffy bow.💞💞💞💞

I do have a question though, when you do strips of fabric or lace, how do you deal with the stray threads that happen when you cut the fabric, so you don't end up with a tangled mess of loose threads in amongst your creation as time goes by?
I just clip them off after laundering. The first wash is the worst, not too bad after that.🤗💖💖💖

I've had my glue gun for so many years that I have no idea if it's low or high, just standard glue gun and glue.

Your curtains are perfect for what you use them for. However, those curtains tell me that you don't have a cat. Young cats and kittens would love playing on your curtains. Even puppies and young dogs would love playing with your curtains. Small children would also love to play with your curtains. Yes, I do find those romantic vintage styled curtains interesting and beautiful; but, I have two cats (so, I'm not going to try this project). Thank you for this video.
