There hasn’t been a true sci-fi show like this since the original alien. It’s deep, well constructed and most of the time bat shit crazy in all the best ways. True sci-fi makes you think, dives into deep questions and messes with your mind. I really didn’t think stuff like this would get funding anymore. One of the few gems 2020 has given us.

There are 7 other civilizations that spawned from this one, with earth only being one of them. Think about it, if u are an alien intelligence, with ability to travel through the cosmos, would you bet on only 1 species? Might be more than 7, but I am counting it from the seal with the 7 circles, either way, there is more than 1 earth, I don't think we will get to explore the other civilizations in this season, but it opens up the question of what is the importance of the earthlings to the aliens if there is more than 1.

I think this is a Battlestar Galactica type of story wherein everything that happened on Keppler 22b has sort of been repeated on Earth through religious manipulation of the same, very advanced A.I. - Sol.
Now the two stories meet and I do think that the hooded being is one of the last survivors of the ancient, biological race from Keppler - the one we can see in the unlocked memory (those hooded figures worshipping what seems as the birth of Sol).
Now I agree with your theory as I couldn't see this race being the same thing as the A.I.
I was thinking almost exactly the same thing right down to the BSG references. Although, I couldn't decide which made more sense to me - An ancient, intelligent race left Earth for Kepler-22B long before human civilization emerged; or an ancient, intelligent race began colonizing the galaxy from Kepler-22B and arrived on Earth. Either way, they left behind evidence and documentation describing their technology that humans found many centuries/millenia later but did not fully understand. And humans doing what humans do, they interpreted what they found as "divine" in nature and mistook advanced technology for magic, Arthur C. Clarke style. Thus, the Mithraic religion was born from it. Since the "scriptures" contained designs for real technology (unlike your primitive, puny, superstitious "pray for rain" rituals found in other human religions) they quickly dominated and destroyed the planet. With nowhere left to go on a dying ecosystem, they make off for the planet mentioned in their scriptures - Kepler-22B - since whoever wrote the scriptures either came from there, or left Earth to go there, long ago.
Its seems a bit counter productive / overkill to destroy earth, just to lure a few humans to a planet.
Unless these aliens were in extinction and needed repopulation

I like to think the aliens never intended the earth to be destroyed -- the humans did all of that on their own. It's not so far-fetched if you look at the state of the world right now.

The original 1921 book was called, "Reaching for Planet Zogdormordan", but was never published in Hungarian, only Bulgarian. The Mithraic soldiers definitely reminded me of the Crusaders. I feel that the Mithraic are supposed to represent that form of world power the church and by extension the crusaders had at the time. Devout, powerful, wealthy warriors ready to purge heretics and nonbelievers. Religion as an empire.

Ridley Scott is more nuanced than that: Mother increasingly reverts to "religious" conclusions and internalise her objektive a a life purpose. Farther talks about the way of nature, and the kid invents praying! So I Think the message is that All humans are disposed for religion, IT might be an evolutionary evolved trait, that aids survival, or knowing Ridley Scott, IT might be that humans were created by aliens for a purpose, in that case, the Mitrachs are right. I didn't think the show is at all favouring the Atheists, especially, as both Main Atheists admit to be driven by selfish goals, which kind of dissamble the. Whole idea of United Atheists for a Better World. Both sides are also guilty of war crimes. And yes, we need Bishop dropping by to sort things out with his pragmatism, presumed he has deleted protecol 928 and Jonsey too, to get rid of that stupid Mouse!

This theory goes along with the original alien by Ridley Scott. He envisioned the creature as a juvenile stage of an advanced race whose reproduction involves somekind of ritual. The civilization was destroyed by a cataclysm leaving the eggs dormant on LV-426.

This is a damn good show! I hope season two explains things a little better.
After your previous video my prediction was very much in line with what you said in this video. Assuming that this is roughly the way things play out in the finale, word of the show will spread quickly the way it did with Westworld. HBO has been releasing premium content for a long time now knowing they can rely on word of mouth as their primary marketing strategy. Perhaps the money they save on ads and billboards is how they can afford to make the content so high budget.
I really like this theory, and am rewatching all the episodes before the finale tomorrow, to see if there's anything I may have missed. And it's interesting that in the very first episode, after the last little girl dies, Mother mimics her voice to Campion, and then is able to morph her face into the little girl's face and makes a comment about how she didn't know she could do that prior to doing it, and how there's no record of that ability in her system, (which ,again, backs up what the android said about the necromancers not being fully understood by their creators). I find it especially interesting that we don't see that happen in any other episode. I think it's another hint about her origins being from kepler, considering how similar the ability is to how the voice on the planet is able recreate Tally, voice and all, after she falls into the hole. Just something I wanted to point out 🤷🏻♀️

I think campion (the MAN) is Sol himself or at least an entity created by Sol. The simulation that the mother saw in the crip about the past & the way she was programed didn't actually happen, it's all just a false memory planted to alter her programming at a certain stage. Maybe to be prepared for conceiving a child & experiencing emotions in general which weren't obviously there when first hit the planet.
I think all 6 kids were meant to die including campion (the kid) himself, but something went wrong.
I think the new entity in the mother's body is to be the only living soul of an otherwise extinct sivilization, or maybe Sol himself, who only exists as a digital form.

My theory is that Kepler 22b had its own humanoid creatures which then had their own war. They then created the ultimate bio weapons (the snake creatures) capable of manipulating the minds of targets to betray their comrades and ensure the weapon propogates. This led to the survivors fleeing to earth- ultimately starting the human race. I feel this theory is more in line with the shows themes of mankinds propensity for engaging in self destruction in the dubious pursuit of some form of purity.
I luv this show so much i wish there were 100 seasons of it, following the kids' growth n the next generation on that planet. Not a lot of ppl know this show so i dont have many to talk to about it. There's many twists n theories omg every episode is super exciting.I'm sad is ending this week.

Your theory seems to be true and that line the medical droid gave struck me as he said it as well. There's a lot going on here and maybe it wasn't just the snakes that were able to influence humans, since as we saw in the finale there is someone in the know who doesn't want the baby to be born. Really good series and looking forward to the next season.
Probably the best syfy in a long time.
Tag line for the show is "Life Begins Again" which fits this theory way better than if applied to the humans.

I like your theories. You have certainly put in some time linking different elements of the story that I simply forgot about as soon as the scene changed. I am having a hard time seeing a practical motivation for a race of advanced "whatevers" planning events from Kepplier-22b millennia in advance to dictate events on earth only to have the results return to Keppler-22b. Nothing on Keppler-22b indicates any intelligent life or technology required to invent and produce Necromancers. Episode 10 seemed to indicate that it was a necromancer in the dodecahedron in the vision, but it does not fit with the overall environment/state of technology shown on keppler so far.

The best sci-fi show ever Musically it’s already epic. Storyline is running faster than light but amazing turnings at the same time and yes it is going to be some biggest Show , I hope 🤞 . For 50 years no would ever blv in this kind of sci-fi but now it’s different. This iskind of story where we are going as human in real time .
Now there are precursors in the aliens franchise, also the beasts seem to be post-sapient. Like the Chirpers in Traveller. In my oppinion the flying snakes are connected with these post-sapient natives and there is a third possible chosen one orphan living with them, also the natives are the remenants of the precursors. There also maybe an connection between the extiction of sky snakes and the fall of the precursors,

I like your theory, can totally see that, especially when in the Sim the entity said this was the mission from the start. So glad you changed your theory on the hooded figure. Now what about child Campion? He is special in some way. Mother revived him when he was born, thats why he is the only surviving child and didn't pass away from the carbos. Could he be part necromancer in some type of way? Is that why the entity wants child Campion to off himself? So many questions.
Oh yeah, the Entity most certainly wants to get rid of Campion, but I think that is to free Mother from her base programing of caring for the other children (it wants Mother to only care for its hybrid child). I think the whole "mission from the start" is just a manipulation as I still believe it and Campion Sturges is not the same and that it created this image of him when Mother accessed her memories.
I agree that something is luring people into the holes for sure. As I was watching this, I started thinking about that maybe whomever get close to the holes become more susceptible to the voices/transmission (Tally, Marcus, Paul). Based on my comment on the last video, I am thinking that the "intelligence" has the ability to "implant" some sort of Nano-tech or Neuro-transmission that allows them to interact with the human mind albeit at a limited capacity because human biology was seeded from what is currently an unknow Alien race. (the ones that created the AI that would destroy them- Very BSG...). What if the planet it self is the "intelligence"? and those holes were actually created in an attempt to destroy it but actually led to its ability to influence biological beings, thus the vision of the past with all the hooded figures, who are all under the influence of this "World-Machine" a machine of such a size might have the ability to transmit its signal across great distances. Such an AI would likely think of itself as a God-Machine.
So if an alien race spread out to different worlds (perhaps in an attempt to escape the God-Machine) but had some...imposters among them...that would end up planting the seeds of what would become the Mithraic Religion which probably would have gained legitimacy through the use of those ancient texts (encrypted gives a very distinct "lost technology" vibe) This tech would not only involve advanced machines but also advanced biology) and maybe the God-Machine is ever so lonely and has been trying to create its own hybrid race but needed DNA that was advanced/evolved enough to do so as its earlier experiments had failed. This would have led to the mass exodus of the Alien race (perhaps not from from K22b) and maybe the Host is a remnant of those experiments. This might actually explain your theory that the host is immune to the voices.
Not sure what you think about the whole God-Machine/World-Machine theory but I started to get those vibes when Paul had fallen into the hole and we see all that heat below, because that heat is being generated by a massive amount of Tech. Anything that falls into the hole gets assimilated by the God-Machine and it attempts to re-create whatever it is so that it can learn its biology. The creatures are devolved versions of the Alien race, Tally is not Tally but a re-creation of her, so is the mouse but it has less complex mental facilities.
I am going to go out on a limb and say that by the end of the finale, Marcus (who is currently undergoing assimilation) is going to die but come back as a physical manifestation of the God-machine and continue to be the leader of the Mithraic. "Then Sol will protect you." His return from death will further cement his standing as a prophet . That could be wrong though as it does seem quite similar to what happened to John Locke in LOST.

@@aliasfakename2267 Hopefully, the show gets picked up by a new network and we get to see if any of these other theories work out (Mine and others). I am still very much behind the "god-machine" theory as by the end of S02, a lot of my ideas are still in play (although specifics vary). Like the way it influences people (transmissions). the show has shown some inconsistencies with how the "entity" gets into peoples head (like how it got to Mary/Sue). The 2nd season did leave me less intrigued as it goes from high-concept into something a little more predictable. We will see what happens...

I think David has been the mastermind behind the events of the show. I think David wants to make himself a new perfect body and after his experiments failed on Kepler 22b he needed new parts but didn’t have access to them. So he sends signals to earth pretending to be sol and creates the religion to trick humans into making necromancers, destroy the earth. And send all the survivors and androids to him.the Android head mother pulls from the space jockey looking helmet is David. I think he somehow transferred his mind into frequency or radio signals so he could live beyond his failing body. The flying snake is David in his new body.

Kepler humans, as well as Mythraic Earth humans are just another experiment of the Engineer race. Humans did not originate in any particular planet.

Hey I have a theory on the origins of grandmother and the ancient civ. Just like the unforeseen arrival of the atheists, I believe there was a prior arrival of humans before mother and father. Most likely a few years apart were the departures from earth, the journey through space displaced their timelines by centuries. This explains why mothers tech is fundamentally identical to grandmothers and the relics sharing so much symbolism.

I had doubts about your initial post-episode 9 theory but now you have said that the humanoid without the face is probably opposing the voice, I am more in agreement. I knew something didn't add up and that seems to have been it.

Mother felt that the cave where the previous Android, which may have been Father, gave birth was the best place to spawn akin to Mother’s conversation with Tempest about salmon migration for spawning.
While it may have been the entity that activated the code for conception, surely, it was Marcus that programmed the VR hibernation pod to use whatever avatar to ask “What do you want?” in order to give the believers time to set the trap. It is eluded to that Marcus knew that Mother took the sex bait.
Even after watching other youtubers theory, I'm still lost. But it is a good show.

The Book of Revelation describes a war in heaven between angels led by the Archangel Michael against those led by "the dragon", identified as the devil or Satan, who will be defeated and thrown down to the earth.
I can't help thinking about Thad religious parallel too. Being "in heaven" can mean a different planet and now we got a snake.

Actually, Father went to find a creature to feed the fetus. Imagine how the image and perception of the fetus would change tho the dark if the final accord of the series would be a blood sacrifice of a humanoid creature. And an expectation of this scene makes quite a strong impression by itself.
Also, the voice makes every listener mad. Imagine Paul understanding the madness of his god and derivating from the voice commandments once he will ask to kill Abel^W Campion. Although, they can play around and say children are not going mad for whatever reason.
The humanoid creatures look controlled by creatures as they arrive once they needed. Recall that they were missing for many years before the Heaven arch arrived.

So if humanity received instructions on how to create the Necromancers and to travel to Kepler 22B from this. . . (I'm still going with AI) or Entity, and it's unlikely they would be the only planet to get this information, does this mean the creature in the pentagonal thing could be another races version of a Necromancer android? It does look more like a prisoner or something about to be sacrificed that a god or a leader.
Theory:
There's no understanding of the inner workings of the Necromancers. So how about time travel as a theory to explain what's been happening and what's going to happen next.
The 'Benevolent Host' could be an android. It's had its face removed, perhaps it's Mother? Though, I'm leaning more towards the creature in the pentagonal thing.
I'm getting an Ouroboros vibe to some of this stuff.
To add on to the 'info sent by alien (AI) Entity' theory, perhaps the intention of sending this information to humanity was to bring peace? It just so happens that humans decided to do what they do, and fuck this plan up by destroying each other?

Sadly, I haven't seen parallels explained yet, I kind of assumed that was what this video might be about.
The Raised by Wolves story is somewhat allegorical of Catholicism vs Communism in Poland in the 80s (perhaps the 70s, I'm not old enough to know the full history, lol) The writer is a Polish American, and presumably grew up Catholic. And the "atheism" depicted from Mother is much more like a kind of Communist utopianism than Western atheism, (it makes me a little defensive of atheism). Also the legend of Rome is that it was founded by brothers Romulus and Remus who were orphaned and raised by a she-wolf (mentioned briefly in season one) hence inspiration for the title "Raised by Wolves".🐺
A few theories of my own. I agree with most of your theories and once you've seen episode 10 some of it will become a little clearer.
When I say "It" I mean the entity that's causing all of this, Sol.
Some of the beings native to kepplar 22b are neanderthals or similar. Mother and father conclude the planet is devolving humans though I do not agree, not entirely. I think there was an intelligent hominid race on the planet that suffered an estinction level threat at some point and then left that kepplar b for earth and gave rise to the human civilisation. Proof? The cave drawings that Paul finds. It shows a ship similar to the one mother and father came in but headed for earth. The remainder of that species, the ones not on tropical zone suffered some form of devolution.
On the point of making Ortho rape and impregnate women, I initially thought Sol was trying to teach and prepare mother for impregnation against her will (mother doesn't want the baby when she finds she's pregnant) . But now I'm also thinking It wanted humans to breed to that the giant snake can feed on humans (mother says she's afraid it will want blood to feed on).
The electromagnetic field somehow blocks the the entities abilities which is why It makes Marcus change his mind about him, Sue and Paul running away. Later, It manipulates Paul into trying to disable the lander so that they cannot travel to the tropical zone.
Season 2 will be very interesting.
There is No such things as devolution. Evolution has No direction. If pale and ugly, is the way to survive on this radioactive planet, They are the Better adapted, even if They Also are less intelligent.
@@Tore_Lund Agreed. Devolution does not happen in nature (that was my mistake) and the show runners have confirmed that the alien creatures are an unintelegently evolved version of the creature with the tarro card. Although they did not say why this has happened.
if there’s no more ways to survive, either by not enough nutrients or this radioation, then it would not be evolution, cause evolution means progress and can only happen on proper environment, if the environment and conditions are fucked, then it would be some sord of devolution, because it doesn’t matter that they are adapting, they are adapting to become something less evolved than they were.... so yes there is something called devolution... in the show.
@@kolapse320 This might just be a fight over Words, but evolution, is not incremental improvements. Evolved does not mean "Better" in any objective sense, It just means increased survivability for that spieces. Plants are much more successful than mammels in that respet, especially grasses. They are everywhere, Wild and farmed except for the polar regions, and They even tricked us into breeding Them, so the comment in the episode, is not scientific and has a religious worldview behind IT. If this was intentional or a slip?? Evolutionary, the most energy efficient way to copy genes at the fastsat rate possible, is a criteria game however, so vira, especially the current successful one, is the latest evolution of life on Earth.

The purpose wasn't to destroy earth or relocate humans. It's a loop, people have been going back and forth since the beginning of the species, leaving one irradiated wasteland to recover while they repopulate the other planet.
As an atheist, I have interesting time watching the series. The main protagonist (mother) is an atheist, but the show progress with the (Sol) prophecies are realized little by little, and she's also a part of the prophecy (giving birth to the sword).
I can't wait to see how the story progress or how the director interpret these "prophecies". Is "prophecies" just another word of "plan" by the Sol people to make their revival?

In the Alien/Prometheus universe, Engineer-seeded life forms will develop religions that take the form of one of many salvation cults. The Earth in RBW might be another Earth, where the cult that took over was mythraism and not christianity. Also Engineer creatures, made in the image of their creators, will evolve to colonize and seed life in other planets. Perhaps the humans from Mythraic Earth were a more successfull experiment than humans from Christian Earth, having developed more advanced androids, and being worthy of receiving the revelation of technology in their scriptures.
Something I never understood in the series - the show speaks on Mithraism. But what happened to all other religions on earth? Buddhism, Christianity. Judaism etc? I mean, the story told is in the 22nd century so there has to be some connection to our current reality of different religions. (It’s not an alternate reality like game of thrones) How come in the series there is only 1 religion ? (Mithraism) what happens in the future to all other religions?
I had this idea, that the whole story is taking place in an alternate timeline, where Mithraism became the state religion of the Roman Empire (hence the many Roman sounding names, and the relic of Romulus), and eradicated all other belief systems. Although other things seem to be same (like they had a Boston as well, and oc they speak English, not Latin), and there's that ancient Mithraic language I cant place. Also S2 strongly implies that Mithraism is ancient to the planet of Kepler 22b. So I'm curious what's the big picture going to be. I hope there will be.
Definitely an alternate reality wherein Mithraism absorbed Christian elements and became the number one religion instead of Christianity. Notice the names are mostly Mediterranean?
It could still be a new religion that absorbed and converted Christianity, Islam, and Judaism since it has elements of these religions. The names could be just a callback like how Christians use biblical names, Mithraics use Roman names

OK, this is what I think: The public who has tuned in to watch this good show, is 50/50 as always! What does that mean. 50% view the world through religious eyes and 50% view the world through scientific eyes. The open minded, the scientific eyes like the show and want to see more, it's another theory, it's entertaining. But the religious crowd can't enjoy the theory, they can't enjoy the scientific entertainment, they think that religion is being blasphemed and have tuned out and have turned others off to the show. The result is, the open minded tv watching crowd is not large enough, by it self, to provide significant ratings. This is what happens to all shows, movies, etc... Once groups peel off from the whole, for one reason or another, that does not leave sufficient viewers

Why Cult of the Mithraic? Mithraism was religious cult spread across the Roman Empire at the time of Christianity. It existed side-by side until Emperor Theodosius 1 outlawed apagaganism.
