- The complete first season of Raised By Wolves is now out in the world, and I am still very much in love with it. Marcus is tripping balls, Mother has been manipulated, along with basically everybody else in this story. This episode sets up for a glorious Season Two, and I cannot wait.

Also the android in a (5)pentagonal cage, has what Aaron says is a birthing helmet. There are five churches, five large stones, even on the cave paintings you see a hand (5) with a serpent embryo. Aaron goes on to says the number 5 is big within this show.

A few things about the "Planets Core" really sticks out to me: Seeing how Mother, Father and Snake baby were able to pass through the core without getting vaporized (even getting that close to it) indicates to me that there is some intelligence there, much like how we see how Hunter is not burned when Marcus puts his arm into the hole of the pentagonal object. Also, a planets core shouldn't have empty space. It should be a heavy iron inner core surrounded by a molten outer core, then the mantle which acts as convection currents (this causes plate tectonic movement) and then finally, the crust of the planet.
What we see as Mother and Father descend through the planet is the crust layer, a layer of empty space, and a molten core. Also, the holes indicate a lack of tectonic movement as that layer of crust should be shifting and reforming (again caused by the convection currents of the lower mantle layer). and therefore, the planet would be considered to be geologically dead, yet we have a liquid molten core that emanates heat. This is not a normal planet, at least it no longer behaves as a normal planet. I am not sure if the show runners looked this deep into how terrestrial planets planets work, but anyone who remembers grade school science class should know this. This planet at the very least has been "modified".
Devolution is not a thing in science, at least it does not occur naturally, as this is not how evolution works and Father would/should know this. However, genetic manipulation and interbreeding are both candidates for the appearance of "Devo-man" and the more primitive creatures. I am still hoping against hope for the whole "God-Machine" Theory even though there is no direct evidence as of yet, but these things, to me at least, point in this direction of something that is attempting to create its own form of life.
So what I think is going on:
K22b is a massive intelligence whos goal is to propagate a species. Perhaps in the past that was supposed to be humanity, but now it is trying to create its own species using what ever DNA it has at its disposal but what is available lacks enough genetic diversity to successfully sustain itself. This would include the Neanderthal humans and what ever snake species was there at the time. So an artificial being is designed to be able to take different species and "blend them together". Perhaps its not AI exactly as the intelligence seems to want to be creating these Psychic Snakes (which needs the humans for their ability to use technology and tools as snakes ain't got no hands) Neanderthals are known to have died out, perhaps due to that lack of genetic diversity (k22b seems to be much smaller than earth and with much less bio-diversity) So, a mission is started, to send the Neanderthal humans to Earth along with those Mithraic scriptures (to be discovered at a later time) to breed with another primate species (homo-sapiens). An advanced AI could probably figure out that the species would eventually wipe itself out (Look up "The Great Filter") so the Mithraic Scriptures allows them to create not only the Necromancers but technology that would allow for interstellar travel and what is the closest planetary body capable being hospitable towards life? Kepler 22b (638 light years from Earth btw). To which point they would return to K22b and begin the cycle again.
There is a ton of stuff going on here I haven't brought up, like the apposing factions on K22b is a parallel to the Atheists vs Mithraic humans and I certainly want to hear what you all think about this overall theory. Again, sorry for the super long comment but I apparently I am incapable of short-form writing. I could write about this stuff for days...

I am not a scientist but I was I am pretty sure there's not suppose be a space. And the voices the characters hear. I thought it was some sort of hallucinogen gases emanating from the grounds but then how do you explain how the kid knew his biological parents were killed and this woman is not real mother. The planet (if it's a planet) is not normal. I think it has a psychic powers.
Kepler isn't a planet. Its a Dyson sphere. The core isn't a planet's core, it's a small contained sun. The clue is obvious all along, Mithraics worship 'Sol' which literally means sun. But its a sun with intelligence, or a massive processor/reactor that has became sentient. How it was created? by who? is still unknown. Thats why Keppler doesn't have a normal planetary geology, because its a planet-sized artificial structure built to contain a small sun. It is not a natural planet.
@@user-lw8dr6xx8i An interesting point, but I think K22b would be too small to be a star. Even red dwarfs were larger stars at some point and gas giants many times larger than Jupiter do not have enough mass for the gravity needed to create fusion. Kepler 22b is a real planet orbiting a "Sun-like" star, although it is smaller and not as bright as our Sun. Even if a Dyson Sphere was created around star, it's mass would not be reduced as a result. I like your way of thinking though, the planet has in some way been modified.
@@Valymir Its a sun, but not a normal natural sun. I think the micro sun/star contained inside the Kepler Dyson sphere was artificially created by the ancient humanoid alien civilization. Probably as a supreme source of energy to power their civilization. But it's Ai turned against them. Thats why it doesn't match the size nor characteristic of natural suns. I think its a massive reactor generating dark photons. The giant serpents were engineered to function like biosynthetic relays to give life to the brain/sun/reactor/god Sol in the center of the Dyson sphere, they are not natural snakes, but bioengineered. Biosynthetic Ai in the micro sun controls the entire Kepler Dyson sphere machine. It gained sentience and destroyed the humanoid civilization that created it. Some of the humanoids managed to send refugees as 9 embryos to Earth to continue the humanoid lifeform. The skinny creatures are the degenerated remnants of that ancient fallen civilization. They are descendents of the ancestors of humans. They aren't human, but are distantly genetically related to us.

The scene was explained by Mother's compulsion to feed and nurture her fetus. The fetus was drawn to the location, and she had to submit due to her programming.

The holes transport them thru time. The tropical zone is in the past and they’re in the future side of the planet shown when M&F are in the lander. ‘In The Beginning’ is the title of the final episode. It’s why they couldn’t land in the tropical zone in the pilot episode.
I know technically devolution isn’t a thing, but if you’ve seen Idiocracy, those people definitely devolved.

I really do not think the humanoid that mother killed is the same the watcher. They move completely different. The watcher is nimble and fast as F.... the one mother killed was dumpy and slow and a lot larger.

I’m interested to hear more thoughts on the issue of Tempest being impregnated by Otho who stated he was being directed or spoken to by Sol. Was this some sort of test to see who it goes when impregnating a human ? I think there is a connection in the future to her child in some way or another
I think it’s 100% purposeful, but I’m not sure what it could mean just yet. Possibly to see who was fertile? But again, with the goal of using androids to reproduce, I’m not sure.

Think Story hypothesized that the electromagnetic field around the tropical zone may keep "Sol"'s voice from being able to influence the snake or anyone else and that's why it didn't want them to go there. Makes sense to me. You both had some very interesting ideas throughout your videos on this show, as did Heavy Spoilers. The 3 of you should have a discussion, I know I would love to see you bounce your ideas off each other!

I wanna know why the 'core' of the planet just floats there? I'm thinking as the crust is like swiss cheese maybe the core is the intelligence/ source of dark photons and the crust is like a prison/ Dyson sphere type deal. The snakes could be appendages and the intelligence wants to evolve or even escape so now we have necromancer snake. Maybe there is a weird symbiosis going on with the intelligence, snakes and humans 🤷♂️
I think the intelligence uses the core like a stasis pod,& can manipulate the magnetic field for its purposes.
Kepler is actually not a planet. Its a Dyson sphere that contains a small sun in the center. The clue is the Mithraics belief in 'Sol' which means Sun, and Sol is contained inside the Dyson sphere. Kepler doesn't have a natural geology which proves its an artificial sphere structure, not a planet. Sol is a massive reactor that generates Dark Photon energy, and is run by an Artificial Intelligence which can manipulate humans and androids because its biosynthetic. Ancient humanoids created it, but it turned against them and took over. The remaining humanoids sent a refugee ship with nine embryos to Earth to continue the humanoid race.

There is a strong electromagnetic field that surrounds the tropical zone - suggested by the Mithraic who tried to land there. So, my guess would be that this is man made, that there are humans there who learned how to shield themselves from the voice.

Edit: I don't think there were actually drawings in that cave. I think that was Paul being influenced.
If previously more “advanced” versions of human species develop over time, maybe they’re suggesting that in this alien environment those “advanced” traits were not suitable for survival on this harsh planet. Thus over time through natural selection the species with advanced” traits (walking upright, speech) died out and the ones with “primitive” more animalistic (tails, walking on all fours) were able to survive and multiply. Furthermore the radiation may have impacted the rate of mutation and develop of the devolved species.
The tropical zone probably has more remnants of the humanoid predecessors, like the hooded guy.

For me the show started off slow to the point of being ponderous, but my interest really picked up during the second half. I thought the finale was the best episode of the season. I loved that it introduced both alien life form mysteries & the atheists, adding complexity to a plot that had been too "us v them." A few random thoughts: 1) the ship entering the core totally looked like a sperm entering an egg, 2) the NYT has a really good interview w Ridley Scott & the show runner that answers some of your speculations, namely that "Sol" used mother essentially as a 3D printer; it identified her as a means of reproduction/replication (to what end is still a mystery), so what came out of her was both digital & biological; also she wasn't designed to give birth out of her mouth, that just happened to be the easiest way for the creature to come out of her, 3) I'm not sure what you mean by "the necromancers were designed to get them to Kepler B"--from what I can tell, nothing in their programming involved doing that (if we are to consider the original necromancers, not the reprogrammed Mother) & 4) you're correct about "de-evolution," there's no such thing because evolution doesn't have an end goal. You either evolve to your surroundings or you die off. To me that humanoid looked awfully "Engineer"-like (& I believe it's inferred on the show that one idea is that they're evolving into a lower intelligence as a way of not hearing voices...?). Even from an android's point of view they shouldn't be looked at as "de-evolving," because a computer model (android brain) would see any evolvement from a scientific/statistical point of view & come to the conclusion of evolution.
About 3, he meant that the war drove humans out of earth, he believes that it was the plan of whoerver sol is all along.

There are electro magnetic fields or something like that in tropical zone. Some colleagues of Marcus aka Caleb told in the very first episode that they couldn't land other side of this planet due to this electro magnetic field. I'm not sure, but it might be problematic for this flying snake to be "hatched out" there.
While watching your video I noticed a goddess holding 2 snakes in the cave painting. It's a riff on the fertility goddess of Crete but the panther on her head has been replaced with the 🌞 and crescent moon. But there's your connection to historical earth religions.

I don't recall if it has been stated anywhere on screen, but it would be interesting to know how far in the future all of this is taking place.
That "core" didn't look like a planetary core. I think there's something far stranger going on there. Mother and Father seemed visibly affected by the heat on the way to the "core" but didn't seem particularly damanged when they emerged.
As far as the devolution thing goes, I think they were using it in the colloquial sense ("become less advanced") rather than any sort of scientific sense. They also seemed bothered when they came to that conclusion. Given what we've seen so far, I wouldn't be surprised if "Sol" or whatever is messing with nature at that sort of level. Even that is still scientifically hinky, but given the magic technology we've seen so far, I think I can possibly accept it.
I'm hoping they don't pull the whole "humans on Earth originated on another planet" thing, though. It just doesn't work with the evidence we have for humans having evolved on Earth. It makes more sense that something visited Earth long enough ago that neanderthals were still around and they brought a population of them back to Kepler-22b. If that was the case, it wouldn't be surprising to find their descendants still being recognizable as neanderthals thousands (or even a few tens of thousands) of years later as long as they're reasonably compatible with the environment to start with. That could easily lead to a "fresh" neanderthal skull without resorting to devolution. If this is the situation, they could also have aquired a population of our particular species as well (our species was around already before the neanderthals died out).
Still, we haven't had much that we can be sure is completely objectively true when it comes to the history of the planet. Or even the history on Earth for that matter. Everything so far has been revealed through one or more sources who all have agendas.
All that said, I'm still expecting we'll encounter something very much like the Eloi, probably in the tropical zone. Oh, probably not exactly like Wells described them, but I just get that vibe off the story so far.
There is about 26 eggs the snake is protecting in the drawing on the cave. Could that mean anything? Could these eggs turn out to hybrid beings? 2 of the eggs seems faded as well. Very interesting.
those are not snake eggs if you look from another angle they looks like landmarks ( holes, tree, etc)

6:33 I saw the circle as Sol itself and the spiky alien one of those clocked dudes that worshiped it. There's also the different symbols on each hand that remind me of a curse mark. Mother was marked to have the snake and maybe other people are marked too? And when they come together sol is revived. 6:34 it looks like the symbol on the hand matches the symbol surrounding sol so it makes me thing there are more players than mother involved in sol's mission. maybe someone on the new ark?
also i think Hunter may actually be marked as one of the players in s2/ meeting sol because of his snake arm.

One thing just stood out as I was listening to you - What if there are 2 voices (if this goes to such biblical sense devil vs God) one voice that guides Marcus and mother - another voice that talks to the kids - the 2 voices are not always fully aligned to what they say.

I saw the post of people that well did not like it and to me it is like they had already decided what it was about before they watched an episode and some just did not listen and watch and said there were a lot of plot hole.....I want to say its only the first season JEZZ. I loved it this is science fiction not science fact. anything goes. When mother gave birth....I still can not get it out of my head lol I loved father the actor for acted it is spot on. People keep forgetting this is not Earth and bind the knowledge of earth science with a different universe its not going to be the same science facts.A lot of people can not wrap their heads around it.

I take the devolving thing to mean they were once more intelligent but the environment has turned them more animal like.... which is still evolution but sure u can put it that way

Im almost 100% positive that the skeleton creatures are the Mothers Children who died. If you count how many Creatures are shown on the Radar it roughly adds up to the exact amout of children who we know that passed. About 14

You're right, they're definitely different. Interestingly, I think the mouth of Mother's baby serpent looks really similar to the trap Paul created. If there is a connection, that makes me wonder if whatever created Mother's baby a) was influenced by Paul's trap, or b) influenced Paul to make the trap look like that

Did Mother and Father survive thou? I guess we will see next season, the impression I got is that they died when they jumped out of the lander. Cant wait to see the thousand or so Atheists (or at least I imagine there are a thousand or so) against the few remaining Mithraics, and can't wait to see the technology and resources that the Atheists bring with them.
The planet core scene was the only thing that didnt click for me...it should have been filled with lava - Perhaps its not a core but some kind of lifeform.

Something's weird about this voice(s). Why would it tell Paul they they couldn't go to the tropical zone, yet the serpent goes there straightaway? Why would it tell Mother the children were practice for the serpent, but then tell Otho to rape the children? It totally contradicts itself. Maybe there's more than one voice?

The ship went straight through the planet to the other side there was no change in direction it followed a straight line. if the ship had turned it would have went up one of the holes it didn't it plowed straight through. If the snake took control of the ship then why did it crash. That was the way I saw it lol
Telling otho to rape was probably an attempt to have more humans to feed on, but then it would probably be for the best if the voice found a way to stop mother from wrecking the entire thing, although if there was too many humans they could be outnumbered? Idk. But i saw it like madhatters did, the ship just went straight with the velocity it gained and came out the other side like a bullet... but it did cross my mind that the snake touched some controllers at some point, it really did look a bit like that so i see where you’re coming from.
I had not reached the part where Hax talks about this, apparently he thinks the snake was piloting as well, it would explain how they survived specially when he compares to how that boy arm wasn’t burnt so the snake or the aliens who helped the snake have control over the planet temperature or maybe Sol is really a thing who knows

It took me by surprise, but I did like it.
My only major issue is, as you mentioned, the "devolving" thing. It suggests that evolution has a purpose, a direction and a hierarchy of advancement. Which is silly.
The snake thing was out there and for a moment I was not happy with its ability to defy gravity, but once I learned to ignore/accept that bit of flimflam I really had to admit that I liked this- the surprise was good, and how much better was it to have something that we didn't guess at?
If the actors playing Mother and Father was not so talented, I don't know if I would have stuck with it earlier on. But they are fantastic and so I did and it was definitely worth it.
I am already excited for season 2.
I wish it hadn't had been broadcast at the same as The Boys as now it feels like the only two great weeklies are gone.
The Expanse season 5 starts in a few weeks, so there's that one to look forward to coming up

The first thing I though about when I saw the snake fly out of the crashed ship was I wonder if it's going to lay eggs since snakes can reproduce asexually.
I'm only 5 min in so maybe you'll get to this but remember the neaderthal skull? what if neaderthal were the original earth humans, the humans we are today we're the alien humans that wiped out neaderthal?

The composition of the neanderthal skull was native to the local planet and not earth.. they were the neanderthals who evolved into the modern day humans on earth

I wish this show made more sense there's nothing I can make out of it why didn't they open the ship to see if the snake monster touchs the core and die , why there is a voice that magically talks to characters when ever plot needs it.
we watched a full season and I don't think we can have any theory for next season that could be actually true cuz the story doesn't give any certain ideas of what's going on it's not mystery if you can't make anything out of it.
it's just some convoluted ideas floating around.

The voice was manipulating everyone to help achieve the goal of the snake/necromancer hybrid being born. And also some other goals that will be revealed on season 2 but as far as I understood Sol doesn’t exist... just an alien species that can speak directly into people’s mind. I think a second watch will be worth it to check for details after understanding things from last episode
I loved the first 5 episodes. Then it went totally West world on me and sucked

The title sequence is awesome. Probably best sequence since The Man in the High Castle.
But damn, this show blows. It is so dumb, so badly acted, so badly written, with cheap CGI, cheap props.
It makes Foundation look like genius.
