Its always the "easy" jobs that end up taking the longest! But we got it all finished and ready to roll again. Yea I didnt expect them to have one on the shelf ready to go when I called, but they are on the ball man! Great people to work with if you need a driveshaft !

hello, i have a kia sorento also , when it's cold the car start right away , but after running with it for a while and reaching the ideal temperature while starting it again it have a late start she crank a little bit longer no check engine light no vibration in the motor due to failing injector nothing from where the probleme can be it's a kia sorento 2007 model with the 2.5l and 170hp 4*4.thank you Mr jay smart

Just a few simple things, you could get waaay deeper into troubleshooting if you wanted, but quick and dirty thinking puts us at a bad starter, and bingo. The parts cannon was right again! Lol! thanks!

That windshield repair would keep them from getting an inspection sticker down here in Texas. The windshield can be cracked but it can't obscure the driver's view.

We took one big family vacation this year and went to Florida. I have some pictures but didnt film any then. It was a nice trip! This is just a short weekend trip, I think I can film some things while we are there !

My mom has the clone of this car which my little sister has been driving for a few years. She called me one day because it was making a "grinding noise" which I thought maybe was brakes. Long story short the left front wheel bearing had 0 grease, like 2 inches of play, and shreds of metal with heat discoloration 🤣

Whoa there. I've never seen a Sorento of that era that isn't consumed by rust, and has a bunch of random dents, a missing door handle (just one, not multiple), and a whole assortment of weird noises.
well... if you look this one over carefully, youll see shes covered in dents, and its missing a door handle. The noises I wont comment on , but shes rust free atleast! Southern SUV

I have a jump starter I ordered from Amazon. They work great! I advise everyone to get one. I think I paid around $40 for it, give or take.
Its really good insurance to have with you! Seems like they last a long time without being touched. Id like to have one in all my cars

I bought mine at China Fright. Works great! I carry it in the trunk.

3 things it could be low battery voltage .most of the times its timing crank sensor in the middel of the moter near the bottom between the belts or its an car anlarm after market

I've flipped 2 of these so far and they are nothing special quality-wise at all. These were back when KIA was still kind of a POS brand.

Its currently on hold right outside those garage doors. Looking for a replacement engine, or atleast a cylinder head at this point. Old one is toasted.

Aw hell yeah. My friend just decided to put his Ion (same gen maybe even same year) back on the road, and is not mechanically inclined or a car person at all. Curious to see what knowledge you will bestow upon me xD

I would put a 50 dollar used starter over a 300 new one every day. I used to buy used ones out of the u pullit for like 5 bucks for my Dart and new ones were like 25 bucks. I used to buy the high torque police spec starters as they were exactly the same but cranked super fast. I tried to get one for my 78 Dodge van but they didn't know what I was talking about and it ended up with the normal one with the Chrysler whine as it cranks.
Unfortunetly I tried and tried to get the customer to buy a new starter. They declined and wanted the cheapest route out. So I complied with their wishes. If the starter goes out in a few months, then they pay again to have it replaced. It sucks, but its money in the pocket at the same time. Now my own cars I take and have them rebuilt. I trust our local builder way more then some Chinese Reman they sell at parts store nowadays

So, I'm not old, therefore my knowledge only goes so far. But Kia/Hyundai has came a very long way in the auto game. They are building some seriously decent machines for the money. And they have a warranty that is almost unmatched by any other manufacturer. The new Kia Stinger is on my list of "want " cars now. But, when it comes down to fit and finish.. They still dont hold a candle to the others. The Japanese still have the overall quality award.
We need a short video on the 67 Galaxie.
If you got back some years on the channel, there are some videos of when we first pulled it out of that field and got it running again. Haven't really made any videos on it recently but ill try to get that ball rolling soon !

i have a 2006 kia sorento with a 2.5 crdi.
The engine would die under heavy load due to lack of fuel. The fuel pump is at the engine and i have checked the pickup tube for blockage.
What do you think the problem is?
You sure you dont have a pump in the tank? It could also be the converters stopped up.. its difficult to diagnose a problem over the internet.
Yep kia fuel pump usually always go out when the tank is full lol

The Korean automakers Kia/Hyundai don't have the quality that Japanese Toyota/Honda do. As a result, they don't last as long.

Where I'm from, they'll harass you (repeatedly) over a cracked windshield. If you're broke like me, I could see maybe throwing some bird-shit-like-substance on the cracks so they "disappear" especially if it's a winter car (salt belt) or if it's gonna get replaced sooner than later. I don't like the low visibility thing about it buuuuuuttttt sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do lol

Bought it with a blown engine, before we got around to fixing it someone wanted it more then us and made an offer we couldnt refuse.... Money... So now they just havent came to pick it up

That would have been the third one I would have swapped engines with in the past year. But It never made it to surgery. Hopefully the new owners take good care of it and finish it !

I'm gonna be one of those people.... A used starter? So you'll end up paying for another one in a few months when the used one dies. I don't understand that. Do it right the first time, get a new one with a warranty, and save yourself the hassle, and probably money in the end. That's just how I operate.

@@MXguy95 I get it, but in the long wrong when you factor in the time lost and the money spent a second and possibly third time, they'll be out more than if they had just done it right the first time. I'm preaching to the choir, I know. 🤷♂️
@@JeffCD77 I'm on your side with this! But some people just wont listen. So used starters (however many that may be) it is, and they will have to pay that labor bill every time it gets replaced. I cant do warranty repairs on used parts. Only certified. so your right, they will foot the bill for another used start and labor over and over and over...
@@JeffCD77 Sometimes you can get good "newer" used OEM ones... I bought a used starter for my '08 Grand Cherokee Hemi that developed a flat spot, from a wrecked '13 Dodge Ram Hemi, been working great for almost 2 years. Did it myself so no labor, but saved over 100 bucks in cost.

I just put a used $50 starter on my brothers 2005 cobalt, if it doesn't take half a day to replace a starter I would go used any day, now on the other hand if it takes 2 days to replace I'm definitely going with a brand new OEM starter
I REALLY wanted to put a new one on it, but customer declined. Said to go the cheapest route to put her back on the road. So.... thats what I did. For my own cars, I take them and have them rebuilt. I trust that way better then the Chinese reman crap the parts store sell now
