Hell yeah man, one of my favorite scenes. Simple, but impactful. Honestly, I enjoyed the show a lot. I came in expecting it to be mid at best. There are a few cringey and questionable moments, but overall it was good. The writers did their research, and coming in hot straight out of Halo season 2 makes that fact so much better. I have a few gripes though. Minor spoiler warning. I don't think there was enough NCR in the show. I guess the NCR is either "gone" or in a really bad state overall. But they were still a huge faction. For example, they were mass issuing gear to their military, whom was spread out pretty far IIRC. So like, where did it all go? I expected to see some NCR uniforms from the FNV game in the show, but I don't think we got even one. There wasn't that much stuff that really showed how the NCR was running everything not long before the show starts. And they really only teased us with the Enclave being back, we need more. They show us that they have some facility that is still in operation. It has to be somewhere in or close to California for the scientist to run into Lucy. Interesting. And not only are they just still running, they are also actively conducting research at this place. Sadly there was no recognizable Enclave uniforms or power armor, which was a bummer. Not sure if that means anything or not. I thought the Enclave guards looked a little dumb too, I think the white helmets with all black clothes was the reason. It's cool that we get confirmation that they are still active in some capacity. But we know nothing about their current goals, power, or numbers. Hopefully this is setting them up for season two of the show or the next Fallout game.
I haven't quite finished the season yet, I've got about an episode and a half to go. But, for the most part, I like it. I've got some grips with a few characters' actions and some changes to lore, but it's far better than I was expecting. I like Lucy and the Ghoul a lot, they're great characters played really well. I would have preferred they use the Fallout 3/New Vegas aesthetic for the world, but that's simply personal preference. The show looked quite good for the most part. I'm looking forward to the last two episodes, and I really hope it ends well.
@easypistachios7 It ruins the rest of the story. Lucy was a pretty good character up until the last half hour. Then she just took word of some woman who broke into her vault kidnapped her dad and threatened her own life. The Goul is still pretty cool, but why he didn't kill Maximus when he first fought him makes no sense, considering he knows the week point in that model of power armor. Maximus can go die in a ditch for all I care. What a terrible character played by an actor portrayed him horribly. Moldaver is an idiot. First off, unlimited power is great and all, but you kind of need a functional infrastructure to get it to people, and people need appliances and houses and stuff to use said power. A power grid that's 219 years old isn't going to be in any shape to handle power going through it. If she knew so much about Hank and his situation, why did she bother to kidnap him and take him from the vault. She could have demanded the code, and if he didn't give it up. Just defrost another middle manager and threaten that one until she got what she wanted. How is Moldaver still alive? Why did dogmeat work with the Ghoul right after he nearly killed it? Dogs don't work that way, no matter if you fix them up. Stabbing puts some pretty negative associations with you. The Brotherhood of Steal is a bunch of idiots. This sects current leader is the biggest one of the lot. Why they'd ever trust Maximus or Dane after the shit they pulled is beyond me. Knight Titus is somehow a more pathetic character than Maximus. The show looks good. I'd have preferred the New Vegas Falloit 3 esthetic, but that's just my personal preference. It had the potential to be a God show and wasted it.
I’m enjoying it but it does feel a bit campy. Maximus has just been stupid the first 3 episodes, so far. Why wouldn’t anyone explain to the vaultie what a feral ghoul is. Also the whole ghoul drug thing is a dumb addition.
Maximus is just horrible. I'd have been happier with the series if he wasn't in it. The ghouls needing a drug to prevent them from going feral is stupid retcon. It's been a while, and I may be miss remembering, but I'm not even sure any drug had much effect on them.
@@beowulfsrevenge4369Ghouls needs A LOT of the standard chems to feel an effect, or specifically made chems like Ultra Jet to get the same kick as regular Jet in the same dosage. As for the unnamed chem (as of Episode 6) Ghouls needs to avoid going feral? Yeah...Ghouls not going feral because of access to a specific chem is a strange retcon because it seems like it's a specifically formulated chem...or a pre-war medication that luckily protects a ghoulified human's higher brain functions. If it had been just Coop using/needing it, it could have been an interesting lore addition due to who makes it and how, on top of how Coop found out about it.
The fallout show is only cool to people who havent learned jack nor shit about the fallout franchise, afaik its basically retconned everything before fallout 76 because fuck actual worth a shit story amirite?
The show is a test on how many people actually paid attention when playing the games. And a not so big surprise is a majority of people just consume media and don’t really know what their watching or playing.
I'm genuinely sorry for you guys that the game from 25 years ago has made it impossible for you to enjoy any Fallout-related media since then But on the bright side, I bet you both do feel smart after this little circle jerk here
Console player here, hearing that noise reminds me of how many times I would have to turn off my system and restart quests because it would freeze up after a hr or a half of playtime 😂
The thing that I love the most about the timing of the motif is that Amazon understood the show had to earn its place in the universe with the games. The music was low-hanging fruit that they could have implemented early on to shoehorn you into the world, but I think the creators wanted to wait until you had already accepted for yourself that all this was happening before they brought in the theme. It makes the writing a little harder, but I think the payoff is better because it reinforces the viewer's perception that this is Fallout, rather than fighting their skepticism early on that it may just be an unfaithful cash grab.
Got the demo of fallout 1 from a PC Gamer magazine back in 96/97? Played all the games except one. Fallout New Vegas which I started during the Amazon show. I was very skeptical….but now after watching entire season1 ? Best series ever made …..

Goosey and Ghoul the GOATs.
It's actually lucy
@rynohorn3819 No, it says right here Goosey MacLean.
Walton Goggins steals it every scene. I just finished it and he kinda made the whole thing for me.

Not a gamer, but I was blown away by the practical effects and makeup effects used in the show.

Such a good series, absolutely surprised! Didn't know amazon had it in them tbh😂
It tickled and it tickled hard. In all the right places.
Love your energy, Chief!
........I really need to get Amazon prime just so I can watch this show.
Since you're endorsing this chief, I need to watch it.
You can get a free month trial and then cancel after 30-days...

Almost as good as a ton of bottle caps and a fresh one of nuke a cola!

But I've never been able to get into the games themselves.
