Oddly, Lee Moldaver was the name of a real California activist who died during Covid in an assisted living center, choking to death on his dinner after immediately after signing a DNR.
26:06 Ghouls are basically humans whose bodies have changed from heavy radiation exposure & didn’t die from it. The radiation exposure also stops them from aging, so they can live hundreds of years. However, the radiation exposure can also affect their minds, turning them feral. When they become feral, they’re basically like zombies, & they’re the fast kind.
@fentonstrauss7304 That's not how radiation works. Everybody who lives on the surface is being exposed to radiation constantly. If you live long enough or get exposed to a big dose you can become a ghoul, but it's not like the ghouls themselves are so radioactive that they can turn people into ghouls.
While the way ferals work is kind of left open, i've always interpreted it as the brain aging when the body wasnt. most of the pre war ghouls you meet in the games are only non feral because they take extreme pains to stay focused on something, as soon as they settle down Dementia hits and they go feral (that isnt explicitly the case in this show however and there are rules introduced for the show)
@@fentonstrauss7304 Ghouls aren't exactly the cause of an infectious disease/virus/organism like every other zombies in fiction, like they said they're mutations caused by radiation so it cannot spread because the source isn't biological. On another note, the humans who have survived whilst being exposed to radiation constantly have grown somewhat resistant to radiation, although not by a whole lot. It's possible it takes quite a lot of radiation exposure before someone effectively turns into one, and the bite from a regular feral isn't quite enough. Not quite so sure about glowing ghouls though.

I only started watching this show for Kyle MacLachlan. I needed more of him after finishing Twin Peaks a few days ago. I had a blast (pun intended) with this show and am very much looking forward to a S02!
Also, I think it's time for me to re-download Fallout: New Vegas and give it another try. I only played it for 1.5hrs, and spent most of that time trying to create a decent looking human being in the character creator lol
First time watching through Twin Peaks? It took me twenty seven years to finish it.... I started as a toddler, no lie, used to watch it while my mom napped... 😂
McLachlan as Det. Cooper is one of my favorite characters of all time.
Definitely need to give NC another go, any of the games, really! I am thinking about playing through NV again tonight. Cheers!
@@RealBradMillercheers to you, too!
I only started watching Twin Peaks last year after playing Alan Wake II. Reached 5eps into S03 and then took a break of multiple months. Returned to it and binged the rest in like... 2-3 days. Loved it all.
And yeah, once I sort some work stuff out (hopefully in about a month), I will try FNV again :)
7:20 "Name their first kid John!"
that would be dope having John McClean in Fallout 😂😂
Did spidy just say "this isn't a hotel this is your home"? 😂😂😂 Remind me to avoid hotel rooms you've been in mate @9:00
I love Walton Goggins so much. Also, the bonding between vaults happens “tri-annually” she said which I assume earns every three years.
Ahhh so glad you’re getting into this straight away, great crew for a great show, they did a fantastic job
Lucy is the textbook definition of "too pure for this world."
I played all those Fallout games and I can tell you this has its heart in it. It has the right horror-satire vibes and it's carefully crafted to fit with the games's lore and time line. It's good for people who haven't played games but at the same time it has tons of little details and easter eggs for us Fallout fans. Enjoy the ride.
Who did it? I thought it was implied that Dane did it to themselves after a brief moment and then smiling by the bed.
Really?
16:38 New fear unlocked
“That really undid me shoes were always a safe place” 😂😭😭 new trauma unlockeddd!
"Is the projector playing explosives?"
And here I thought I was younger than The Normies.
Fallout 4 is my favorite game. I love episode 1.
I grew up outside of Utica NY and one of the most targeted areas in my childhood was Rome NY (for the very secretive base that had a near constant cloud cover, IE we had a lot of weapons bunkers ) I remember being in 7th grade ( just months after 9/11) and my history class teacher said that we had about 8 minutes from when 'the bomb' dropped on Rome to us "kissing our ass goodbye"....
Thank you for the Core Memory Mr. Orillio
Also- as much as we are meant to hate his character- when it comes to fallout shelters- there is very specific food that has been stored, so that jerk was trying to protect his family because he knew that if he accepted his friend and kids then they would have all died.
You can never go wrong by starting anything with an The Ink Blots song.
“Where’s the warm towel?”
“Warm?!?”
This is killer commentary.
