- There are a lot of inflammatory foods we eat everyday. I love consuming turmeric and ginger after I feel like I have consumed a lot of high inflammatory foods or just for a tasty breakfast, this anti-inflammatory turmeric smoothie fits the bill!
Dairy-free milk, ginger, turmeric, and avocados make this smoothie creamy but light, and sweet but balanced. Studies show that black pepper will help amplify the anti-inflammatory effects of turmeric, so feel free to add black pepper to taste as well.*

Ingredients:
1/2 medium avocado
3/4 cup canned coconut milk
1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
black pepper, to taste*
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 cup ice cubes, crushed
8 drops liquid stevia
Nutrition Summary: This makes a total of 2 servings of Keto Anti-Inflammatory Turmeric Smoothie. Each serving comes out to be 250 calories, 25.4g fat, 3.9g net carbs, and 2.9g protein.

Looks so good. But and advice on what to use instead of avocado? I'm allergic to it.
There's not really a good sub for avocado. You could use some coconut cream instead but the avocado will thicken pretty substantially so maybe some coconut cream with xanthan gum would work. I think it's difficult to replace avocado in almost any recipe, though, because it has a pretty unique texture, taste, and fat profile.

The only coconut milk I can get here is made with rice. Is replacing it with raw milk something you'd consider? What would you choose?
You can't get canned coconut milk? If not, I'd probably recommend using one of our other smoothies as a base and adding turmeric to it (or if you don't want turmeric, add other flavors).
@@RuledMe You mean, as in replacing coconut milk with raw milk defeats the whole purpose of this smoothie being "anti-inflammatory"?
And no, I looked and asked, and the only ones I could choose were the one with sugar (added), and the one made with rice. So which is the better choice here?
@@jaydamalley3398 No, I mean that coconut milk from a can is thicker than nut milks, so it will not be the right consistency. If you don't care if it's thin then that's no problem. We use avocado in some of our other shakes to make it thick. You could do something similar but just add turmeric and ginger to it instead of chocolate as we do in some of the other recipes.

If you're picky and you feel you wouldn't like it, I wouldn't recommend making it.
Do I have to use the ice in this recipe
I suppose you don't have to - it does help with the consistency though. Without the ice it might be a bit thick.
I don't like almond milk. Can I use coconut or oat milk instead?
As far as I know there's no low carb oat milk out there. But if you're using unsweetened coconut milk from the carton, that's fine. Other unsweetened nut milks would be fine also.

No, I always use unsweetened coconut milk in all of my recipes
We dont have avacado in pakistan
We have other smoothie recipes that don't use avocado which may help out more.
I hope this helps. Fibro is mean to me. But this may be a ritual thing like mid morning snack or something . just like take meds but the natures way
I'd love to know if it helps out. Make sure to add some black pepper in there as it does help amplify the effects of turmeric :)
I love black pepper. I will try. I am making one of these in a few minutes to start my anti inflammatory daily routine. Natural meds usually take a week or so to see improvements. Thanks
