both my wife and i love Malaysia !! it is 100 times better than thailand, it is cleaner, cheaper, 99.9% of people speak english, they are also better educated than the thai's and yes they are Muslim, but they are relaxed about it, as long as you show respect and behave yourself, you will have a fantastic time !!

    Welcome to under-rated Malaysia 🇲🇾😊
Kuala Lumpur is a city of contrast.. diversity and a melting pot of Asian cultures and cuisines.. A laid-back, clean and sophisticated lifestyle, KL is a city that never sleeps..
There are eco-parks and bird park which are rich in flora and fauna within the city of skyscrapers (and the conservation of the oldest rainforest forest in the world, which older than Amazon's..) There are the stunning twin towers in the world since 1998; the Petronas KLCC Twin Towers and the new second tallest building in the world Merdeka PNB 118 which is still under construction.. and many more landmark skyscrapers that blended with to form a spectacular skyline of Kuala Lumpur..
Please find some famous local foods which are affordable price and delicious like Nasi Lemak, Nasi Kandar, Nasi Kerabu, Satay, Lontong, Roti Chanai, Ramly Burger, Char kwayteow, ABC iced kacang, Chendol, Teh Tarik, Leng Chee Kang and many more..
Explore more to beautiful pristine and serene islands and beaches at Langkawi Island, Perhentian island, Redang island, Kapas island, Tioman Island and Semporna islands..

That is Jamek Mosque and The River of Life.
KL is my favourite city that I have visited and I have been to many cities around the world. Merdeka Square is literally 10 minutes walk from Jamek Mosque. There is the KLCC Gallery in Merdeka Square which is worth visiting. The taxi driver in the video mentioned some islands Perhentain and Redang Islands - I have visited them and they are stunning tropical islands. Jalan Alor in the Bukit Bitang area is thriving at night for sure

A Malaysian subscriber from during your India travel days. Welcome to Malaysia.
KL is not a walled city but rather a Malled City. There is an over abundance of large Malls not too far from each other. The world's 2nd largest Mall is in the ultra modern city of Putrajaya, which is slightly over an hour away from KL, if you use the Mass Rapid Transit system.
If you want to feel the New York vibe head to Pavilion / Bukit Bintang area. If you want the Las Vegas vibe head to Genting Highlands. It is less than an hour away by bus. You can take a bus from KL Sentral to go there. The Fare is very affordable and the trips are frequent.
For British vibe, head to the cooler Cameron. Highlands, Frazer's Hill and Maxwell Hill. There are a number of touristic Islands on the East coast of Peninsula Malaysia. Langkawi and Penang Islands on the west coast are a must visit for tourists.
Over on the island of Borneo lies two large regions of Malaysia; Sabah and Sarawak. These are "goldmines" for seeing, cultural diversity, wildlife, nature, and adventure travels. Actually, the best renowned islands of Malaysia for diving and snorkeling, lie off the coast of Sabah.

I remember it as totally glass with a series of dome on top. It is worth visiting just to see the building. When I was there, they had a show of models of mosque used to sell them, to congregations. Enjoy

If you're looking for Malaysia food, you ought to understand that we are a melting pot of mainly Malay, Chinese, Indian, Sabah & Sarawak (so many smaller tribes) and the rest of the world. To talk about food mainly asking about Malay food, Chinese food, Indian food, others and fusions of all the above and in between. Chinese food here will slightly (quite a lot) differs than mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan. Indian food here slightly different compared to India.
To explore you should ask, is this Malay food or Chinese food or Indian food? Then the seller shall inform you. Lookout for nyonya food -- fusion of Malay/Chinese.
There are many Thai food bcoz northern part, during the good ol days, they were part of Thai and Malay kingdom depends on who win the war during those decades. Therefore, Thai food influence already part of out taste buds. However, the taste is slightly different too when compared to Thailand. It's close to Southern Thai taste bud.
If you explore regions in Malaysia, the taste shall be slightly different too compared to commercialised touristy Kuala Lumpur.
Hope that helps to clear some chaos in trying to understand the food culture

17:29 the spot you're standing there is where the town began... The name Kuala Lumpur literally means Muddy Confluence, it's where the 2 rivers meet and converge, so that's where people from upstream and downstream gather and meet to trade their commodities. The mosque there is indeed a mosque and that was the main mosque of Kuala Lumpur like 150 years ago.

Be sure to go to SS Durian House to try a wide selection of Malaysian durian. Musanking is their #1. I would go early in the day...or early afternoon anyway.

Milo = Hot Milo with condensed milk
Milo O = Hot Milo with sugar
Milo Ais = Iced Milo, with condensed milk
Milo O Ais = Iced Milo, with sugar
Milo Ais Dinosaur = Same as Milo Ais, but with the Milo powder topping
Milo O Ais Dinosaur = Iced Milo with sugar and Milo powder topping
By default it comes hot with condensed milk
Add O, and condensed milk is replaced with sugar
Add Ais, they make it iced.
What if you don't want sugar or milk?
Use the keyword kosong, eg. Milo Ais Kosong, which will get you Milo, iced, no sugar no milk.
The keyword "dinosaur" is coined by Chinese.
You could also use keyword "tabur" instead when you're dining at Malay restaurants. It's the same as dinosaur.
