Here is the background info about 雷峰塔 for you: The Legend of the White Snake (白蛇传) Leifeng Pagoda is perhaps most famous due to its association with the Legend of the White Snake (白蛇传), one of China's most beloved folktales. The legend revolves around a beautiful white snake spirit named Bai Suzhen (白素贞) and her tragic love story with a mortal man named Xu Xian (许仙).Leifeng Pagoda has become a symbol of love, devotion, and the mystical in Chinese culture. Tourists often visit the site to not only appreciate its history but also to reflect on the deep emotional resonance of the Legend of the White Snake. The rebuilt pagoda incorporates a museum that displays artifacts from the original structure, and visitors can climb to the top for stunning views of the West Lake and Hangzhou.

I just came back from a weekend trip in Hangzhou, I love this city especially the west lake and all the natural surroundings, a place of my childhood. The only thing is try to avoid the holiday period, full of tourists, more crowd and noisy. So after all the hot spots, I prefer to go to Hangzhou Botanical Garden, to enjoy beautiful flowers, smell the Osmanthus fragrance (now is the right season) , and more peaceful environment as well as the Longjing village to enjoy the delicious Longjing tea on a beautiful terrace in the nature, with the view of the tea gardens and hills. Very enjoyable. There are still so much to see in Hangzhou, so I'll be back the next time !Enjoy your stay in Hangzhou and China!😊

Folks, if you are still in Hangzhou, Ask the locals about a not touristy hiking route but locals favorite, called十里琅珰。starts in village Meijiawu梅家坞村,through village Longjing龙井村 (famous for their Longjing Tea), ends in Jiuxi九溪烟树。From what I researched on the internet, it’s not desolate and well marked ( you can always run into other hikers). Myself will try to be there and do the hike later of the month. Have fun, guys, and enjoy the tea😊❤
I used to live in Wuyun just next to Jiuxi village. It's really just a short ways along the river down from Liuhe (6 Harmonies) Pagoda. Personally, i like the climb up then exist down to Yunxi Bamboo forest云溪竹径 which comes out at the front end of Meijiawu longjing tea village near the tea research centre. It's a much shorter path and a fairly easy hike and the paths are beautiful once you reach the tea house in Yunxi, more so if you take the side path through all the bamboo. Do be careful of wild boars though. Small families of them may charge if they are scared.
@@BenjiSun hi, there. Thanks for the advice. So could you please be more specific about the route you recommended? I was able to find the map online. Where do you start? If you're coming in from the north end, yeah and want a longer hike, yeah, definitely head towards 九溪烟树 into 九溪 village, there you could always turn back to my short route into Yunxi. Although if you really want to see beautiful bamboo, definitely consider a side trip to NW of the city over to Anji's 中国大竹海景区.
