She is clearly a VERY VERY gifted singer. This is quite a difficult piece because the range is all over the board. She nailed it perfectly.

What perfection do you mean? She misses lot of notes and substitues them with other (easier ones).

@@ian.marais1202 if the statement that 1+1=3 is a perfection in your "opinion" than ok. This is not matter of an "opinion". If one can, by an exact metod, see and prove that something is incorrect, it is a final time to review the "opinion" making approach. Garanca is a very good singer, but lacks theb technique to sing this piece well. She hasn't sung it well on any record yet. I am not speaking about "perfection", one camnot even speak about goog work. From this record, no one would be able to write down the vocal part. It is impossible because she simply does not sing the notes properly. If you want to hear how this should be sung - just what is a standard for a performer to do it publicly - listen to Lucia Valentini Terrani. To sing the notes as written by the composer is a must. It is the beginning where to start. Garanca is unable to reach, in this piece, even this starting point. It is not a shame to lack such skills, everybody is not coloratura mezzo, it is a shame to perform publicly something what one is unable to do technically well. It is a fake commited on the unprofessional audience.

Cecilia Bartolo the best for this piece
I love her but Rossini is not for her. She should sing something else.
I have no idea why someone as good as her needs to embarass oneself by performing a piece for which one doesn't have technical skills. She is an intelligent and excellent musician, she must know very well that she has no skills for this piece (I have heard more records with her, she's never given all notes properly). Why is she practising this vocal orthopedy, on an underaverage level, instead of singing other pieces which she is able to perform a perfection? I think, the first thing is to sing/play all the notes written by the composer. If one is unable to do so, to stay professional, he/she shouldn't perform it. At least some people do not sit on their ears.
