    7:08 I remember it was in 2009 the opera was performed in paris and I bought 2 very expensive places for my husband an I. and I loved it so much that I came back later to see it again by myself, buying the cheaper place. it was just 5€. 5€ and you could hear such a beautiful music and watch a 3h opera performance. ah PARIS! such a blessed place!

    • @israadouar2541

      Yeah, unfortunately, such a price also means that the artists are not paid as much as they deserve. It can take up to 10years to master your voice as an opera singer. Per month, their income (depending on the city, the popularity, the time they appear on stage, etc.) can go from 1300 to 3500 €.

    • @dianemoril7612
      @dianemoril7612 4 місяці тому +1

      @@israadouar2541 maybe I wasn't clear:
      the same opera at the same concert place costs a lot or just 5E depending on the chair you chose.
      5E means you are placed behind pillars, or other structural item that will make you see or ear less than you should.
      so, it's very normal.
      I'd be very surprised that singers are so badly paid for such a long and famous opera. my friend is an opera singer too, and he worked a lot in paris, and the prices you give are very low. unless it's for a single concert.
      (this kind of opera are played a dozen times during 1 month or so, and you are paid 1000€ for ONE concert, then multiplie with the number of concerts you'll make).
      maybe you are talking about beginners (who would not appear in such a big and long opera anyway), or for a 10min role.
      1000€ is the price for a single concert for a main role. and I mean, AT LEAST 1000€.

    Greetings from Denmark
    This is so beautiful it cannot be discribed.
    Go to an opera, or the theater in real life, and you will be a changed person... I actually guarantee that.
    .... I'm just a regular person.... and I'm for Trump !
    While not an opera or even an operette, I went to see "Les Miserablés" in Odense, Denmark, back in like 1991 at the "Old Theater"... Odense's "Gamle teater".... and ... it was an almost life chaging event for me.
    I _love_ opera.... it seems to touch something deep inside of me.
    Classical music does, in general... from Vivaldi, Edward Grieg, Tschaikovsky, Brahms, Strauss.. ("Also Sprach Zararatustra", OMG), and Carl Orff. Not much of a Bethoven or Mozart fan, so that makes me a peasant ;-)
    Oh, in that sense... I forgot Maurice Ravel, with Bolero ;-)

      i don't mean to downplay, but this was not a good flower duet. Try Sabine Devieilhe & Marianne Crebassa or old school perfection with Joan Sutherland & Huguette Tourangeau. You will notice a difference

    • @ybor20
      @ybor20 3 роки тому +2

      @@jefferymcgregor6371 So I tried Sabine Devieilhe & Marianne Crebassa and I saw two indeed great singers, each singing their part of a duet that never became a duet. Joan Sutherland & Huguette Tourangeau do sing a duet and they have great voices..for me to powerful for a Delibes song. I prever Sutherland singing with Pavarotti the Verdi - Messa da Requiem. For Delibes flowerduet are Simone Kermes and Vivica Genaux a very good choice, they way they perform -important for a life registration- goes very well with the music and most important: they are singing together while Sabine Devieilhe & Marianne Crebassa are only accidently at the same place.
      So I did notice the difference and I don't mean to downplay your remarks but try to understand what it means to sing a duet and moreover to sing Delibes who was composing light comic operettes. Sabine Devieilhe & Marianne Crebassa are singing something very serious while Simone Kermes and Vivica Genaux are singing Delibes.

That means being able to easily enjoy all these performances, whit unprecedented audio quality all the way from the recording up to the release. Thanks for this awesome share!!!!
    Also, thanks for those 4:3 performances shown - no matter how long the performances were recorded, the quality and "soul" of the performances can withstand differences in cultural "present-day" sensibilities. Yet they are a testament to the original compositions and writing :how many decades and centuries after they were composed we can still connect and relate? Countless is my impression!

    That "Queen of the Night" aria is so powerful - forget about any young people's game about love or romanticism - EVERYONE as felt this in their life. The difficult notes are not just for show, they highlight everything - this is my feeling after hearing this together with the performances - it's the intensity I expect with the subject matter. Only this time around it's made physically apparent - not just in my mind - truly remarkable ;)

      Tina Williams, Hi from California, Tina! Your words resonated with me, as I used to be
      taken to the Vienna "Volksoper" many times by my mum. I'll be forever grateful to her.
      She also introduced me to ballet, and I became one totally dedicated "balletomane". By
      then we lived in New York City, and I'd be zipping from one theatre to another, living along every step. I even got to attend ABT (American Ballet Theatre) ballet school. (For the fun, I was an adult by then). As a child, I used to sing along with operettas and also love waltzes, and music has accompanied by like a beloved friend all these years. I am transported into highest spiritual spheres by it and was fortunate to introduce friends (and my pets), to all these great gifts we've been given. When I sang to my kitty, "Maghira", he would purr loudly and drool! Greetings to you and many good wishes, dear fellow music lover!
