This game tries to be lighthearted for the most part, but yeah. Actually ripping off the poor thing's trunk is kinda dark. Unfortunately, they do this in most versions of the game.

Alot of people are hating on it, ("Wah we want N64 gamez!") but eh I say it's a good classic game. "Spanky's Quest" isn't bad, and neither is that puzzle game. Haven't tried the baseball one yet. I'm kinda glad they're releasing more then just popular games on Switch Online. Obscure games can be good too.
Oh yeah, when this came out on the SNES classic recently I played the Hell out of it, of course I was using the rewind feature because I'm not as good as you. But still a real fun game and a pure nostalgia rush.

The boss in Sega Version is different. There us no devil instead it's replaced with a man lizard hybrid.

I honestly prefer the arcade and mega drive versions more , the feel more intense and aesthetically pleasing , but this one is not bad in general

I play this game on my steam deck and I have to make the mammoth fight no audio because the scream when he loses his trunk or tusk scared me a lot
To be honest, the Heart Devil gives more of a final fight than the Mutant Caveman
In the nes version,the giant mandrake eats you up if you get too close to it.

If it is then they botched the head shape, because it resembles a Brachiosaurus to the point of the nasal cavities atop the head.
