Interesting to see the Space Jockey getting referenced instead of the usual Xenomorph style enemies you see in many games.
This is a neat game. Love the fact that you can assimilate the enemy mecha. Gives you a ton of variety of different gun types to choose from and see which will be your favourite.
Honestly, I'd love to see an arcade archive of this and maybe even a rrmastered/remake. This is one of those games that has that potential to become a great hits.
The alien emperor is similar to a Space Jockey/Engineer (from Alien/Prometheus)

Based on the intro animation, the design of the mechas and the funnel in the Enemy Robot boss battle (quite Zeong, that one), I'm sensing a lot of Gundam influences in this game. Mixed with R-type, it seems. Nice designs. ^-^

Yeah, Atlus was being pretty blatant about the enemy during 12:07: surely that could NOT have been the RX-93 Nu Gundam with two fin funnels.
The pixel art in the beginning was incredible. Then you see the palette they chose for what you control.

What incredible intro, one of the best in an arcade game ever I'd say. A significant chunk of the game's production budget must have gone there.
I can definitely tell the artist and crew who worked on this did were some serious mucha fans! Beautiful animation and very creative on the game's Direction! Instant love!!!

The Giant ship and Core reminded me of the final boss from UN Squadron from the SNES.

After saying the name of the title over and over, something becomes clear to me. This is what Eevee's fire evolution should have been named. This game looks incredible too. I had not heard of it before.

Did some digging around and it turns out there's actually one boss encounter not accounted for! Stage 5 has a sub-boss fight with one of the tanks from Stage 4's Twin Tanks boss; it has the same attacks as before, but it's actively running away now and there's big walls scrolling across where the upper tank used to be. It may be fair enough that ye didn't include it since there isn't actually MUCH difference but

This game is so clearly inspired by the R-Type games that came before it. How everything animates, the sound design, the look and design of the bosses...it's as if R-Type just had new sprites swapped in.
Hahaha all these mechs are straight-up copies from Mobile Suit Gundam, and in particular the Char's Counterattack movie!

The game is called BlaZeon. It's a mech game. One of the main factions in Gundam is called Zeon. Gundam is a mecha anime series. The fighter at the beginning looks like the core fighter from the original 1979 Gundam series. COINCIDENCE? I THINK NOT!

8:58 am I the only one who was annoyed by the fact he never destroyed that final floating ball? The completionist in me wanted it gone, much like when you leave a single cheerio floating in the milk in your bowl but don't eat it up :|

It's wild just how neutered the snes port of this game is. Very slow, and plenty of empty moments in the levels. Great redone music though.

i find it weird that half the bosses in this game seem kinda lame in design compared to everything else in the game. Mainly the cores, Bio Mutant and for the most part the Alien Emperor.
