I really liked the video. It is well put together, the diagrams were great, and the information was direct and to the point. Thanks for putting it together. Now I have to go testing.
2013 civic. P0145c and p0497 purge low flow. Have replaced purge solenoid and fuel tank pressure sensor with OEM. Pulled canister to check for air flow, it was good. Pulled vent vale and tested, it was good and fully open/closed. Monitored fuel tank pressure via scan tool; pressure was varying between 0 inwc and -40 inwc. Appears that fuel vapor is being pulled to air i take just fine. Had mechanic friend clear codes with car running. Codes cleared and did not come back for 20 minutes. Eventually codes came back. With it being a low flow code, I wouldn't imagine it would be the gas cap as that would increase flow but I replace gas cap anyway. Codes still there, not sure what yo look into next except maybe a collapsing hose or fouled inlet to air intake.
Great video. I do have a question. I have a 2011 honda pilot 4wd ex-l and for the longest time my gas cap light would be on. I have replaced the gas cap with high quality caps 3 times and no change. Just recently I got the CEL light and the VTM-4 light. The CEL would stay on and it would alternate between the VTM-4 light or the gas cap loose light. I scanned it and received 6 codes all were P145c and P497. I replaced the purge valve and the vent valve seloniod. Still no change? Only thing added to the vehicle that could be causing this is the VTM Bypass to cut off the eco mode. Do you think that part is what is causing my issue. Now I have had that on here for the past 2 years and just not getting problems with the system? Any idea?
My 2011 honda civic lx only does that when it's humid. High temperature. I've replace the vacuum switch valve, canister purge valve, canister vent shut valve and fuel tank pressure sensor. I had several codes. Must when away. Only when it get humid and hot I get code P145C. When the temperature goes down and cool. It goes away.
Recently I got this code, the only two things I can think of that may have caused it are 1. I entered a shitty driveway that caught the bottom of my lowered car a good bit. 2. I have been turning the car on and sitting it it during work breaks. No visible leaks to be honest but major MPG droppage.
I’m no mechanic, this is just advice , I’m not licensed. But from what I can tell, when the vehicle is off, it stays in a closed or open position (assuming closed) and so once the vehicle starts running, it has an automatic timer to when it cycles to on and off. As far as how that looks like, I’m not sure if you can physically see it opening or if it’s all happening inside and you can maybe hear it ? Should be cycling the whole time the car is on, hence to get the vapes out while the car is running. It doesn’t need to run if the car isn’t running because no gas is being transferred .
My 2009 civic only has this code, but the car is getting some electrical problems I think. The car's engine shut down for half a second turned back on! This happened a few times, about two months ago, but I never brought it to a mechanic. I thought it fixed by itself, but then this morning, the car didn't start! I needed a boost! And now its turning on just fine. Weird eh. You think this code could be causing this? related?
Dude this video was one of the best most helpful video ive ever seen on UA-cam. You did a great job..funny i dont even own a honda Odyssey😂

Very good info...

did you ever find a solution? I'm having the exact same problem

Seals and gaskets can expand in hot weather and cause intermittent leaks. When it is hot I would try to do a smoke test to see if there is a leak.
@@whyingo7964 will do. Thank you!.
@@nerungodid it get resolved?

Is the vent valve normally open or closed? Open while engine runnning? Or open when vehicle is off ? Or only open during evap test ?
