This, for me, is the best cut-your-own-hair tutorial I have seen! Goodness, so simple! Especially for me, as I WANT a blunt cut so some of the steps I didn't even do. I started off slowly, just took off an inch to see how it worked. I have thin hair so don't have to do sectioning and love how to just cut at a slant so I don't have to worry about trying to do the back separately. I love it! Plan to go back for more later. Thank you, Brittnee!

Thank you SO much for this. I've been cutting my hair for the last year, and all of the techniques in the other tutorials I've watched always leave me with the V-shape in the back and didn't explain how to NOT get that shape, and I couldn't figure out how to not get it, or how to get rid of it without my hair looking uneven. Your technique let me cut my hair without getting the V-shape, and that's all I wanted. This is by far the best, and easiest, tutorial I've watched.

Brittnee you saved the day! I got a little crazy two nights ago and messed up my side bangs and then kept making it worse. Plus, my hair looked sectioned and all disconnected. I followed this video and wow! My hair looks great now. It doesn’t look like I cut much but it lays down nice and feels swingy when I move my head. My side bangs would have looked better and been a little longer if I had watched this video before I tried to fix them yesterday, but at least I can live with them now. Thanks again for an easy to follow video for we DIY girls who think we know what we’re doing until we mess it up. 😘

I have been cutting my bangs for decades, but you have just inspired me to cut the back of my hair for the first time (I am 59) using your method. You made it so easy and explained it so well. I cut about 2 inches off the bottom and I am happy with the outcome. Thank you for saving me money - now I don't have to go to the salon and pay $85.oo for cut and blow dry 🙂

Thank you Brittany for sharing your skills and knowledge and your time. Cut my own hair today by using your hair tutorial. Had it cut where I live up the mountains in Pennsylvania and the hairdresser did a horrible job it was all uneven I got to work and my boss looked at the back and said OMG it's all uneven the bangs were cut so short I had to just pull them back and Jill them so they would stay back and pull up my hair so it was finally long enough to fix and by using your hair tutorial my hair now looks awesome. My husband looked at it and said it looked so pretty.Thank you again, Maureen Ramage

I really appreciate this video and your detailed instructions. I have zero knowledge or experience in cutting my or anyone else’s hair, but I was encouraged and confident to give it a go after watching your tutorial. I was pleasantly surprised with the results despite a small, but hidden too-short chunk. Thanks for providing this service! I’m following now. Also, I LOVE your hair color!

So incredibly excited to have found you and this spot on perfect video for cutting my fine hair. Love how you got straight to the tutorial, each step was clearly visible and explained, how you used regular old craft scissors and were extremely personable and real. Thank you! This is exactly what I’ve been searching for and cannot wait to see more on this channel.

Sooooo believe when I say I have searched for a DIY way to cut and layer my hair. I have thin hair too and this is so easy to cut and still maintain some length. It was 5 steps for me to do and it made me feel so much better about how long my hair was. I’ve been to salons and I will once every few visits get a cut I love and then I can’t get that cut again the next time. It’s not like they done try, they do. But this was so easy to do, and you are a hairstylist, so I appreciate that even more. I just wanted to say thank you for making this video. 💜

I love it! I have been cutting my own long layered hair recently as my bangs were getting too long, but I didn't want the rest of it to be any shorter since it's so hot out, and I want to put it up in a pony tail, without a large section still hanging down, hot on my neck. I was doing something like what you've done here, but you clearly showed how to not be so "perfect" in the cut, how to get the back done right, and how to use that vertical cutting-in to blend and take off some of the weight. It's so empowering ! I'm going to go fix up the basic job I did, and make it look more modern and have more movement, AND do so with confidence that I am going to finish with a look I want!
