  • CRT SS9900. This could be the issue causing the high SWR warning.

Probs sorted ya problem now but ive had same bother with my 9900,what i think problem is cheap n nasty pl259 plug, the pin isnt a snug fit its loose, waiting on new length coax coming

Maybe a better patch coax will fix the high SWR issue. As for the audio jack, it may need a spraying and a vigorous insertion of a small 3.5 jack several times to get the micro switch on the jack to make connection and allow audio back to the internal speaker.

Hi Andy. Yes the jack socket could be the issue. Iam going to replace the 259 plug as iam not happy with the thread going so tight.

Stick a new PL259 on, having already taken a couple of inches off the end of existing coax. Should sort it....unless of course there is a dry joint/make and break on radio socket inside the case... hope you sort it

I've had same problem it was down to fake cheep PL259 plug it wasn't having proper connection or it could be water in your cable!!

I guess water in the coax or more like corrosion is always a possible. The Mini8 run to the shed is not that old though.

Where did u buy the pl259 Fred?

Jeez i cant rem Gary. It was a 10 meter Mini 8 patch lead that i run to the shed. Think its less than a year old.

@@CB-RADIO-UK no probs mate just wondered if they were ebay cheepys. Some of them are rubish quality. Ya better off buying pl259's from places like knights even if they are a bit more expensive. I made the same mistake with some rg213 plugs.

    Let me guess.....🤔 ?
Cheap Chinese knock off connector, that doesn't meet spec's !
And most certainly an intermittent contact could change the SWR, as you would effectively be losing one side of the antenna circuit !
    IMHO, Mate !

Hi Fred. I have just connected the Zetagi T999 and it's saying swr hi without matcher turned on. My other little swr meter says it's fine and internal says fine also. I'm confused. Either I'm getting false readings on my little meter and internal or the Zetagi is faulty.

The 999's can go bad. Have you checked the patch lead ?
