  • I just purchased the EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra to protect KKRRenewable’s studio from power outages. Sometimes we have outages of a couple days and it’s nice to be able to continue to work on depopulating, scraping, Gold Recovery, and content creating. This beast of a Solar Power Generator will definitely keep us productive through unexpected power outages.
This video is an unboxing of the EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra. It is the first of many videos, I’m sure. I plan to provide an in-depth review of the smart phone app, as well as share charge/discharge and sustainability videos in the future. Please like and subscribe and thank you for watching :)

I own both Eco Flow and Bluetti. My earlier EFP Delta came in a badly damaged and in a somewhat inadequate packing box. My EFP Ultra inverter came with no through and through punctures like in this video but with plenty of exterior damage (3 sides and 3 edges) to the box in various places. Similar to this video, I am still waiting to receive my Eco Flow Batteries.
So at this point, I CAN attest to the fact that unlike my Eco Flow products, my Bluetti AC500s and 6 B300s batteries came seriously double-boxed and fully protected. EcoFlow could stand to better surround their products with more and thicker solid foam and double box them like Bluetti. More detail when I receive the entire system.
The 90-degree battery connector cables are a welcome improvement.
    Thanks, KKR.

I totally agree on the boxing. My only thought was maybe the design choice for the boxes were made for a storefront and not shipping, but that makes little sense. Then again, neither does such flimsy packaging. I first purchased a real cheapo knock-off of the Oupes Mega5. Even that significantly inferior product was packaged better than EF. The 90 degree connectors are badass. Don’t forget to use them. Hahhahaaaa

Tis the time of year for storms and power outages here in Florida. I have a generator that powers about half my stuff. Was thinking of upgrading to a bigger unit now may look into your unit.

Never mind I looked them up. For that price I think I can visit another state till the power returns. Think I will go with the home generator runs on propane and turns on automatically when the power goes out.

Yessir, they are not cheap, but battery prices are coming way down. I got these on a steal from Costco over Father’s Day. I’m betting they will be on sale again for Independence Day or maybe Labor Day. thank you very much for the view and the comment. I really appreciate your time and insight.

Great video with just the info I wanted for when mine arrives. I ordered my DPU a month ago and received the inverted in three days, but was given no info on the missing battery. When I called they said it was backordered, then the very next day I received an email saying my order was complete. So, another call to EcoFlow and I was told to be patient and ignore their own email. I just wish that their ordering system and automatic email responses were more informative on the process. They know the battery will be shipped separately, but don't tell you, they know when something is on backorder, but don't tell you. However, the entire system seems perfectly suited for my needs, so we'll see.

So glad it was helpful. I totally agree; I wish expectations were set at the time of sale. More information ahead of time would be great. I’m gathering info for a balancing update. The DPU has a lot of great functionality. I really like this unit.

First, thank you for taking the time to review this unit. No disrespect however but this unit is $5000+ USD and for the carton to be greatly damaged in shipping leading to a scratch on the device I would've taken a picture before cutting those straps so Ecoflow can see how it was delivered to to you. They could offer you some money back if you don't want to go through the trouble returning it or swap you out for another one. That's a very expensive device and the only "war wounds" it should receive are from you, not UPS, Fedex, DHL or whomever delivered in that terrible condition.

Yes, I was not happy about it. I’ve placed the unit and it shouldn’t get any more physical war wounds as it’s not near anything moving. I may yet reach out to Costco about the shipping. Thank you so much for the view and comment.

Thank you for this post. I am seriously considering this exact unit that you have. Costco does have it at a great price. I hope you do more videos about how it is working for you and your thoughts, negative and positive. I’m curious how big your solar array is also.

Sure thing! I do appreciate this DPU very much. My solar array is about 1200w. It’s old arrays that I’ve given a second life to. I got them for free 😊. I will be posting future videos so please be sure to come back and check us out. Thank you for the view and the comment.

on the older ecoflows they recommended charging fully and discharging fully 3 times before using it, not sure if thats still the case but that's what i would have done before plugging the solar

I’ve heard of folks going that with older modules Was described to me as “waking the batteries back up” after storage. But nothing in the paperwork for this unit suggested fully charging/discharging. Thank you very much for the view and the comment.

That’s awesome! How much stuff can you connect to it with 1 battery versus having 4? How long do they last? I’m in the process of selecting a portable battery and I’m between the Ultra and the Delta Pro 3. I’m not sure what to get, all I want is back up for blackouts during Hurricane season . (video is super informational, thank you for posting, make a follow up to see how they are working🎉)

Great and thank you for the view and comment! I can give you advice but it will be biased towards my own way of thinking. The DPU has a larger inverter than the DP3. The DPU capacity is natively more expandable than the DP3. I wanted a home back up system so those two things give me more versatility with the DPU over the DP3. Price is a large consideration, and portability might be a consideration for some, it was not for me. I can force the DPU to be portable but weighing in at close to 190lbs means it’s only portable if I have help and want it to be stationary after I move it :). I can give an update on battery balancing, once the entire system state of charge got to 50% it began balancing the batteries. I did reach out to support in an effort to learn the “rules for balancing” and they basically just told me that once the device is sufficiently charged, it will balance. They tried to be helpful, but I think a language barrier is a problem so while the words were English, I’m not sure the communication was. If that makes sense…. I also have scheduled tasks set up so the DPU charges for 3 hours limited to 600W each night during the cheapest grid charges. The rest of the time it charges from Solar. Once I get to a reasonable state of charge (say 75%), I’ll disable that scheduled task and run only solar and see how that goes. Thanks again Lola, I hope that helps. Ask any questions you’d like. Have a great day.

Does anyone know the name of the solar cord you plugged into the ultra pro? I can't find one.
