- Starfield is building off of the weapon and weapon modding systems from Fallout 4 and Fallout 76, but massively improving upon every aspect. There will be multiple weapon types such as physicals or ballistic weapons, energy weapons, and MAG weapons. There will be potentially hundreds of different mods you can customize your weapons with including things like ammo variations. Starfield will also include an item rarity system that weapons will also use which includes basic or common, rare, epic, and legendary.

I have gone over weapon mods in one of the first videos, but I wanted to go a bit more in depth with the information we have, and additional things we could potentially see in the game.
I currently play last gen xbox one s. But saving for a series x right now, should hopefully have one by the time starfield comes out. I'm really hyped about this game as someone who really enjoys fallout 4, elite dangerous, cod/r6. This looks like it has a first person/third person shooter feel for gunplay almost like cod. The base building looks like a mix of fallout 76 and maybe a but of subnatica, exploration of elite dangerous and the experience of fallout. Really hoping this game succeeds as I'm really looking forward to it

I’ve often wondered if certain weapons would be more beneficial depending on the planets gravity or environment, like high winds make ballistic weapons less accurate. This would change up the gamers weapons and suit for the type of planet they’re on.
If I remember right I think developers mentioned that in zero gravity, certain weapon fire will propel you backward
You’re right this has already been mentioned briefly - energy weapons etc are best suited for zero grav environments, ballistics pushing you backwards as mentioned by the other comment 🙏👍🏻✌🏻
I know we’re on starfield, but imagine elder scrolls 6 weapons customization, after all these years of R&D. It will be amazing
I am much more inclined to think that mag weapons are probably one of two possibilities. Number one is that they are just ballistic weapons that use magnetic acceleration, a bit like a rail or coil gun. The other is that they would fill the " ion Canon" / anti -machine or robot niche.

"White hot rounds" reminds me of bloons td with the spike tower having the white hot upgrade where it would melt through metal bloons, if its the same logic its probably just an armor piercing round

I unlocked all the mods recently. It really makes a weapon more personal and much more deadly.
Mag weapons are magnetically firing guns basically instead of gun powder propelling the round they use magnets instead if you look closely at these guns the do have batteries on them.

@@XXveny Kinda the railgun has well a rail that the projectile travels along to increase accuracy as you can't rifle the barrel like you can a ballistic gun real life mag weapons do exist but they aren't very accurate as they don't use a rail and can't be rifled so the projectiles tumble after leaving the gun and don't fly straight as a result there is currently no fix for this problem unfortunately.
Much if starfields mechanics are or were implemented in fallout 76. We got the Birds Eye’s 360 build menu. It’s also has the perk cards you just open next tier on one card until it’s maxed. Possible also different build like melee, commando to rifles and heavy gunner. You cards will increase the dps for the Weapons I’m thinking you can find or buy plans like 76. Or scrapping them that also open up mods. All the magazines and add ons are the exact same as f4 n 76. Basically it’s fallout in space.

It may be possible that the work bench has a level too so you may need to improve tbe workbench to make it possible to install certain mods.
Maybe, I think the Research Laboratory would make sense to need to be leveled up.
Im wondering if the "modified drum beat" rifle kinda acts as the starfield equivalent to the "pipe" firearms in fallout 4. For some reason, its design to me screams modularity... like "it can be a pistol, rifle, shotgun, or sniper" modularity, not "add a red dot and muzzle break" modularity. If that makes sense.
Well im dumb, you go into that gun, and that doesn't seem to be the case. However, it would still be cool to see something like that.
@@RPGUnlocked I guess it could also be true that barrel 1 mods are base mods and barrel 2 mods are a better version for example "long barrel" is a barrel 1 mod and required to be turned into "advanced Long barrel" which it a barrel 2 mod possibly?
@@nesperado0790 I don't think it could be both a rifle or a shotgun as Bethesda want Starfield to be realistic futuristic and the ammo types are very different it is true you can but some large caliber rile rounds fit into a shotgun and you can fire them but the bullet bangs around inside the barrel and is very inaccurate because this as well as the weird recoil if you are very lucky more possibly the round will get stuck and the gun will explode on you hand so while you can fit and even fire the wrong ammo in a gun don't it's very dangerous.
Also shotguns don't have rifling as they don't fire bullets instead they fire multiple ball bearings so rifling would actually cause more friction slowing them down and providing no benefit unlike a rifle the spiral rifling in the barrel causes the round to spin as it exists the barrel which makes it more accurate and increases the range as it flies more aerodynamicly in a more straight line.
A rifle can be modified into a sniper rifle which has been done in real life the AK-47 for example has a lot in common with the Dragonv sniper rifle and bother use the same 5.56mm ammo and share a lot of parts too the main difference is the Dragonv has a longer barrel for more range and is bolt action as bolt action guns have the lowest recoil so are more accurate and have scope attached.
Also it can't be a pistol, rifle and a shotgun for the same reasons pistol ammo is too weak for a sniper rifle and not pistol can fit shotgun shells however a pistol to a submachine gun would be possible as their are pistols that are full auto and some submachine guns and pistols use the same ammo for example the MP5 submachine gun and Bretteta pistols bother use the same 9mm ammo and there are Bretteta model pistols that are burst fire or full auto like the M92R also the Glock 18 is a full auto 9mm too.
Sorry for the long post but it not a simple subject so it takes a long of explaining.

Up until about two weeks ago, I was still clowning on this game, Bethesda and Todd Howard. I couldn't be happier over the idea that they might be about to shut me the hell up.
The mag weapons if im thinking right would most likely b more like the EM guns from the movie Eraser which were basically scaled down versions of a railgun, i say scaled down since the smallest one being tested is ment to b mounted on a battle ship and that was about 10 yrs ago
It supposed to be more of a successful version of the metal storm gun that was in testing years ago
When I think of a mag weapon I think of a rail gun using electromagnetism to fire off ballistic projectiles that can go thru steel concrete etc

I think the unique weapon aspect would be fun if it was like you said, with a unique effect, Fallout 4 was really lackluster in that regard. Borderlands 2 and 3 did that quite a bit with legendary weapons having effects that were often extraordinarily unique.
Number 1 feature for me is starship customization, other feature i really liked is weapon customization.

Just a heads up. If the metal storm is what I recall it to be. Then it's an anti missile system. Basically you set them up and they shot down missiles like the USA phalanx system. But where ours is like a rotary gun which calculates how fast something is flying and sprays bullets in a pattern to assure hits, this just kind of BANG wall of steel. Where our systems have huge systems in place to track and calculate where to fire, this is just ehh it's going to be roughly here. Make here a wall of steel and when it passes through it will get shredded. And it works super good and it's cheaper.
That said our systems are still better if you don't care about the cost. And our systems can shot down things not coming at them. Because metal storm is more a claymore you aim at the sky.

I curious what the economy is on armors, i mean even the cheapest armor is technically considered quite expensive right you have a fully EVA capable space suit after all, i wonder if its more effective to loot enemy armors or their weapons.

Fallout 4 taught me crafting was pointless as everything can be found, and every game with guns ever taught me the starting pistol is the best and will carry me through the whole game.

This seems like there has to be elemental damage in the game right? Like some enemies will be resistant to certain elements, and some will have weaknesses? There’s got to be like freeze damage, fire damage, explosive damage, electric damage and so on.

id recommend a better processer just to get past those annoying load times plus although 16gb of ram is good id recommend more
I have a similar setup with a 5600X and RTX3060. Should be fine if not playing on max settings.
I’m going to be trying to get an Xbox to play it on. I travel a lot with work so it’ll be easier to carry an Xbox around and a PC.
i got r3600 and vega 56, i feel fine and you got a lot of horsepower on me. totk has become my favourite game in years and it runs at 720p 20fps somtimes lmao so really, dunno what id be worried about. previous creation engine games tend to be cpu heavy, but im sure your gpu is fine!

The devs have said that it won’t be possible to do a play through without killing something. There will be ways, though, to do it by avoiding most combat.
