Have you tried to put the video backwards? I mean to put it on the negative side. That way the YT algorithm doesn't recognize it. Many youtubers do it to react, and stop every so often to speak two or three words and continue. This way you don't get the copy from the sound of the song, rather than from the video. Try it and you will have better luck. Greetings from Argentina

Nothing warms an old mans heart quite like watching a beautiful young woman enjoy Pink Floyd. Loved the goosebumps. :) Pink Floyd and David's guitar will do that. Stop and think for a moment, this was the music your grandparents listened to. Much to the chagrin of our grandparents...
Welcome to the journey down the Pink Floyd rabbit hole. The inspiration for this song was a time Roger unknowingly had hepatitis and got sick before a show. They got a local doctor that thought it was a stomach bug and gave him a sedative just before he went on stage. He was so out of it his hands felt swollen like two balloons (also a reference to a feeling he had as a kid with a 105*F fever). He could barely play but the crowd kept cheering anyway so he was "Comfortably Numb."
One of my favorite songs from Pink Floyd is The Great Gig in the Sky, studio version with Clare Torry doing vocals please. I guarantee you've never heard anything like it.

This is considered one of the greatest guitar solos in rock history, and this concert is probably the best altogether live production ever put on. From this concert, "Time" and "Sorrow" are very good choices, and another studio song worth checking out is "The Great Gig in the Sky" (the album version is definitive)! Hope to see you reacting to more PF!

Thank you so much for reacting to this. I was in high school when this song first came out in 1979. I remember it well. My girlfriend at the time and I loved attending concerts. It was one of the things we loved doing together. There were a huge number of wonderful groups at the time and concerts were not very expensive to attend. Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Boston, Journey, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Triumph, 38 Special, Foreigner, and many others. I cannot describe to you what a wonderful time it was to be young then. We were happier, relationships were closer, life was more carefree, and the music was spectacular. My heart just aches that young people will not get to experience life as we did as teenagers in the 70’s/80’s. Again, thank you so much for posting this video. It was a wonderful treat.

Welcome, dear lady! It was a blast watching you get "Floyded"! You're among friends.
Your thoughts about the meaning of the song aren't far off. Like your first PF song, "Comfortably Numb" also comes from Pink Floyd's epic double album, "The Wall". It's the story of a fictional young lad named Pink. Pink wants to grow up and become a rock star. Your earlier song, "Another Brick In The Wall" (Part 2)" is from the days when Pink was in school. His teachers ridiculed his 'poetry' (the 'poem' the teacher reads are actually the real-life lyrics from another Pink Floyd song, "Money".) So Pink learns to protect himself from being hurt - he begins to build walls (hence, the name of the album.)
"Comfortably Numb" appears at the end of Side 3, and Pink is now a young man, and a very successful rock star. He's achieved his dream - but he's now realized the price he paid. He's walled off everyone who used to care for him, and in whom he could trust, and depend. Instead, he's surrounded himself with yes-men and sycophants, all of whom want to use him, and none of whom really care about him. With no way to escape this cold, dark world he's now trapped in, he turns to self-medication - he begins doing drugs to escape his pain.
As the song begins, it's one night before a concert, and Pink is too stoned to perform. The promoter comes to check on him, and finds Pink barely coherent. Panicked at the thought that he might have to give refunds, he calls a rando doctor to come and get Pink into some kind of shape to go on stage. The first voice we hear is the doctor, trying to assess Pink's condition, maybe see if Pink can/will tell him what he took ("Hello... Is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me...")
The soothing chorus is stoned Pink, trying to respond to the doctor, as he's able ("You are only coming through in waves. Your lips move, but I can't hear what you're saying...") The doctor puts together his best wake-em-up shot for Pink, injects it into him ("..Just a little pin-prick.." *tinkle*) and sends Pink out on stage. The first guitar solo is while Pink is still stoned. It's brief, and it's beautiful. But the second solo is after the shot has kicked in, and Pink is forced to confront his pain, his fear, his rage, his loneliness, his doubts, all of his miserable life - while he's on stage. David Gilmour's transcendent guitar solo makes us feel Pink's suffering.
The lyrics are based on an actual event which happened to principal songwriter and bassist Roger Waters, on tour with PF in Philadelphia in 1977. In Waters' case, he fell ill before a show, was diagnosed with hepatitis, and was given a shot to get him through that night's show. Waters does not recall the incident fondly, saying he felt like it was one of his worst performances, but people didn't seem to care.
The PULSE concert, on the other hand, has been called -arguably- one of the greatest concert performances ever recorded. By 1994 the remaining band members were getting up in years (Waters having left the band nearly a decade before) and may have decided to go out at the top of their game. This tour, actually in support of their last studio album, "The Division Bell", was the most expensive tour in history to that point. The name came from the original CD release, which had a red LED in the spine which flashed, or 'pulsed'. I had the pleasure of seeing the PULSE concert with 65,000 friends, and it was even better then it looks on video. Every single song from PULSE is fantastic, and would make a great reaction subject. "Wish You Were Here", or "Brain Damage / Eclipse", or "Shine On You Crazy Diamond", or "Sorrow", or "High Hopes", or the show's frequent finale, "Run Like Hell" ~ all are excellent versions musically, and each with a fantastic light show. The whole show was uniformly excellent throughout.
I hope you continue surfing down the Pink Floyd rabbit hole!

The British guitarists of the 60s and 70s were so amazing, Gilmour, Jeff Beck, Pete Townshend, Page, Mick Taylor, Keith Richards, Dave Davies, Dick Taylor, Peter Green, Mark Knopfler, each one so unique, and Hendrix, Roy Buchanan and Eddie Hazel in America, trailblazers every one. And just the tip of the iceberg. Enjoy the journey!

If you like the "slow-shredding" guitar solo, I'd suggest another song by another guitar-master.The song called Bridge Of Sighs, by Robin Trower is a great example of a slow hand working an electric guitar, and the vocalist, James Dewar has a voice that perfectly balances with Robin Trower's guitar play.

You're right its a very sad song indeed. Considering it's about a guy who has realized his life has become a drug fogged prison which cannot but become a ruin. The other songs on the album tell the story up to this point and also shortly afterwards. Although it leaves one wondering whatever becomes of him.

They actually cut 2 minutes out of the version you played. The longer version is out there and I have seen a few reactrions to it. The last solo was the part shortened, but you can't tell it if you didn't know. It's called the (Uncut version). I actually played this version side by side to the uncut version and see where they cut the parts out. when this version finished the ball was just opening on the uncut version when David Gilmore was starting to distort his lead gutar. I'm 63 yo and been a Pink Floyd fan since buying their Dark Side of the Moon 8- track tape in 1973 when I was 12. Been hooked ever since and bought the rest of their albums including The Wall in 1980 where this song is from.

Other than Led Zeppelin, there was no better classic rock band and they defie labelling, they are there own genre. I saw them 4 times (75, 77, 87 & 94) modern listeners would have fainted at what I saw and heard. More Floyd! Do Echoes Live at Pompeii, is is amazing and should not get blocked, many other reactors have seen all 24 minutes without a problem. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎷🎶

Shame about the blurring, you don’t just listen to Pink Floyd you experience them. Their light Shows are better than most today and this was 30 yrs ago
