Don't worry - we've still got 20 seconds to comply.
Sampler19 that didnt end well for that dude though
Volka Gaming he should have complied
I love this reference
15 seconds
It does look like a tiny skinny ED-209
I think the most amazing use of this robot will be to find a way to attach it as a prosthetic to a person with no legs, it looks really stable and self balanced, smart living like motion, very ergonomic, small for all the features it holds and looks very futuristic, I can't wait to see Cassie in a movie.
Love the little caption at the end as soon as the guy finishes talking about using the robots to save people from a burning building. "Funded by DARPA" lol.
DARPA also funded the technology that became the internet. Who cares who funds it
a cuteness to surpass metal gear
Silver comet moooOooOOoo
Metal gear baby
GEKKO~!!!
That was my first thought when I've seen it: "Are there any comments about Metal Gear"?
It's pretty close to Metal Gear Walker from MGSV, though, and might work if upscaled properly. Also, it can give support to handicapped people in the way like Huey's servo-legs in MGSV.
I'm really hoping that instead of weaponizing robots Metal Gear-style humanity will wisely choose to use them to help people outside of military industry.
i was thinking the same thing. it looks like one of those killer bots from Metal Gear Solid
or the MOAs from Warframe. (Closer to the MOA than the Gekko or Metal Gears themselves. Scale changes a lot with material weight, too)
MassDynamic
Mechwarrior as well
Today Cassie, tomorrow ED-209!!
Aaron Dobson Today Cassie, Tomorrow MOA
Aaron Dobson exatamente!
Aaron Dobson it reminded me of robocop as well, lol
They have , that's the problem . See movie then think '' I wonder if I can make one better '' Ego leads to disaster . love the building fire justification . How about building with flamable resistant material ?
Next project is Cassie with Gatling Gun, perfect riot killer robot = ED209
"So that enables us to stand in place, sit down, crouch, *squat*." - Instantly adopted by the Russian military.
No! Is the Americano squat! Is not slav!
It's Draenei squat so it is slav!
:))
hahahahhahaa
Needs more speakers for the Hardbass before it can be officially adopted.
just put a gatling on it and sell them as "home security unit"
Beautifully made, I am glad it works so well.
Imagine this thing chase behind you with a taser gun instead of cops...
Kevin Wilson I'd run to the side circle round and kick it over.
Looks unstable as fuck.
Probably can't go up stairs of a gentle incline.
Kevin Wilson dont worry its coming 😁👍
They just need to add human flesh..
Kevin Wilson light it on fire!
"You have 20 seconds to comply"
You guys are doing awesome work!
It looks amazing! Great works guys, keep going!
You made a baby ED-209.
Add some guns to that fucker and your 100% on that
That was my thought exactly ol 209 it is.
0:27 a perfect example of humans 50 years from now getting out of the way for AI
50? more like 20
20? More like 10.
Artificial Intelligence nah really... its about 20.
20? More like 5...
lmao Robots will not be roaming the streets freely in 5 years....smh
I can't help but think this is a massive stepping-stone towards giving people back the use of their legs.
People seem focused on exo-suits, or prosthetics - which are absolutely wonderful, but if there is a system for taking care of complex tasks such as quickly rebalancing when something unexpected happens, it would become much more useful.
ED 209.....next please....you have 20 seconds to comply !
EXACTLY!!!!!!!
Kinda resembles Corpus's MOA from Warframe
Pat Gaw yeah
**Cue "March of the Moa".**
This is a step closer to a Corpus Walkers/MOA ....
Hey, combat proxies are awesome! Also, MOAs can be cute, like the one in the Perrin Sequence's syndicate room, which acts like a two-legged robot puppy.
And now we are getting pet MOAs. It's so adorable...
Beautiful workmanship and design congratulations
I'd love to to see an update on how far you have come with Cassie, over a year later now.
OK, why is it important for a robot to have only two legs to eventually check if there are people in a building that is in fire? For that purpose there are so much better solutions than two-legged robots, but if (when) this gets better people who lost their legs could be again on their own feet and that is promising. Keep up the good work :)
@MiKi Patak
nice! But I think the lack of a torso/head/arms is to increase stability... it could still have light weight strong arms tho
A human world needs a humanlike robot to navigate it.
Do you want a four legged robot climbing stairs and jumping over rubble? There's a reason that the advanced species on Earth can walk on two legs instead of four.
Are we sure we want to create another advanced species of bipeds after our war with the Duck Empire? What if they ally themselves with the Pangolins?
Now all of your nightmares from Warframe will become a reality as Cassie knocks you down and stunlocks you then enslaves you.
Still, will this project result in MOAs (Mobile Offensive Armatures) and Bursas, or will it go right to the Ambulas stage?
There's no telling. I know Boston Dynamics has the Jackal covered.
And, possibly, Zanuka Hunter. The horror...
I'll take an S3 Ambulas over a Denial Bursa thanks.:)
caav56 then vey hek, mechanical turkey incoming 😂
This was a triumph. I'm making a note here, huge success. It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.
This is just the bottom half of an ostrich.
No One
Exactly
Or emu
It`s a Trump supporter.
Rune Dyrting I don’t get it, is It because they don’t have brains?
why my ass can not go to work without me ???
Somewhere out there is a Slig missing his pants.
OMG, I lol'd so hard I gave myself an asthma attack. Thanks for the laugh :)
Here boy. GET EM!
I'm totally going to have to play Oddworld again.
The versatility of this robotic movement would also be fantastic in movies. I'm sure the Stan Winston special FX Studio would be able to find some uses for it. Not to mention the animatronix combination could seriously improve some "tied down" robotics or followed by heavy cables and power units or battery packs. A different mindset for different applications could even propel your research forward
outstanding job lads.
Awesome work, guys! Sending best regards from Portland State University!
Sanek Merry Meet from Central Oregon and Hyperdyne Robotics!! :D
Sanek94 lol alarmist much
The Ewok's will be pleased.....
lolmaoaf

Awesome. I am proud of your company's achievement. Play all the angles Agility Robotics
Reminds me of the moa from warframe
The Fancy One I'd never thought I'd find someone here that would say that, I was just about to say that myself.
Exactly what I was thinking
Corpus walkers are heading your way!
I swear I didn't think someone would say that😂😂😂 exactly what I was thinking
This is a Moa from Warframe.
If they link it to self-learning combat-oriented neural network, we'll get Ambulas.
Отличная работа! Молодцы!
Самый крутой робот!
You are amazing!
So what are you using to balance the system. The gravitational point in this system is very top heavy and I imagine it to be rather hard to have just 2 legs pushing the weight of the top in the right direction... I mean even humans have an upper torso to counterbalance the system while walking ?
Great work guys! Splendid and hope to see more of this in the near future.
Oh... well then... It's a MOA from Warframe.
Yeah it reminds me of Fusion Moa 0:25

👌👌👌

I'm one of your subscribers by the way :D
Pinnacle of engineering...!
What's the name of the music track that plays in this video especially towards the end?
I would ask to investigate so that this project can serve that can sit on top of the robot a person without legs or spinal cord injury. As if it were a Chair wheels but with legs.
Ребята все молодые, не за горами тот день когда роботы будут среди людей, вроде фантастических фильмов, желаю вам успехов!
Felicitaciones, es un muy buen trabajo
What is the music in this video, specially the second half?
Great project, and great video/editing! Would love to join the team.
ed-209? :-D
Master Program Exactly!
it's ed-209 when hatched. Not fully grown yet.
Yeah, ED 209 is all we need...
Master Program what could POSSIBLY GO WRONG!! Lol
Yup 🤘🏻
This is amazing. Just wow.
The progeny of this and Atlas would be a thing to behold!
Guy with his brain in his groin. Yup, Evolution's done.
arlrmr all guys have their brains in their groin.
Robocop when?
Robocop win
Robocop... as soon as it grows fingers and learns how to dunk doughnuts.
Ten years tops
"I am now authorized to use lethal force!"
you guys are doing great...!
How difficult would it be to develop learning software to mimic (learn) bipedal movement instead of writing code piece by piece on "how to take a step" ?
But can it do a backflip? huh?
this one can: ua-cam.com/video/fRj34o4hN4I/v-deo.html
Lucho-Core it don't even have back 😂
Too good of a video. Marketing ploy. They kept the nerdy scientists who are actually making this happen locked in a basement.
hjahahaha, so true. Put out the Sherlock homes guy out with his lock hair, but the nerdy guys with not much reproach will stick to their geek work. Good work geeks!
They were the least geeky of the geeks, but still kinda geeky.
"the Sherlock homes guy with his lock hair" is actually one of the founders of Agility Robotics, and Chief Engineer. Don't be fooled by stereotypes. World does't work that way.
the nerds will be safe in their basements when the bots take over
He looks more like janitor of the building than an engineer.
It's fascinating to me that this is all taking place at my local university.
Good if Cassie could have feet that can grab, it maybe needed for military applications such as turret gun. Two mantis scythe for shielding, close defence, lurking, balancing aid during running.
Im thinking star wars...
Robot friends seem more and more probable. It would be great to have a robot runner for errands. Like sending a robot to move packages and to buy things from the shops on your order.
The future looks bright !
Yep !
Assuming people will not steal the robot right away. You know, they pretty pricey.
A Robot friend would be amazing.
Is there any way the materials can q00% resist rust forever? So that the parts can always be kept in perfect condition?
ED209 is go ! Does it go downstairs well ?
Ghost in the shell
You Have 20s To Comply
I love how they've all been worded up on how to sell Cassie to Darpa through the burning building scenario.
Why don't they have claws, toes, hoofs or in general jointed feet yet? Woudln't that improve stability drastically over those stumps?
*heads up tenno, corpus reinforcements incoming.*
But Mobile Offensive Armatures are cute, as well as their relatives - Bursas and Ambulas units!
Well, we're getting pet moas soon...
Creepy. Looks like a cut in half chicken. Just put together a flock of them with AI that can communicate together; equip them with facial and gait recognition, grenade launchers and 9mm firearms... More stable feet... Ultimate assassins.
YTjndallas I'm thinking more like attach these to the new realdolls with the harmony animatronic head, with its AI program installed.
@ Snapdragon 9600
Or give these legs to Sofia the android.
"Americans"
*incredible OSU*
What's the music tracks used on this video
However if...they could say...Make these robots connect together to form every walking platform variation. They would corner the market.
Self spoken genius
Orthodoxy
What's the reasoning behind the inverted knees?... does it give some sort of balance advantage?
Just the right size for a optical system, radar, and mini-gun!
Futuramente manusear estes robôs será o mesmo que controlar um Drone , você poderá colocar um aplicativo nele e se ele se perder na volta pra origem ( casa) ele vota sozinho de volta , é isso não é ficção é realidade.
I think you need to make the foot bigger, for stability
and add hands
Not a good idea, bigger feet are heavier which slows the response time and increases the energy requirement. It works well in nature because of weight to power ratios and the amazingly complex structure of feet and hands provides an incredible amount of articulation and minute balance options. Eventually robots may end up with complex feet but for now the technology is not really there to make them worth equipping. A large foot surface would actually require an increase in size in the hip articulation to compensate for the larger available surface area and increase the overall size of the bot. Little pointy nubs are just as good and most of the time significantly better for low articulating systems as they require smaller and less stable points of contact with the ground to keep the system upright.
Would be harder to climb stairs then.
Nice job, have you seen Atlas from Boston Dynamics? Pretty incredible
When are you building the other half?
can’t wait to see a boston dynamics video of Atlas and spot physically beating this thing into the ground
Sad to see how the talent, knowledge, immagination and energy of these smart young guys is being used for what will ultimately become a machine for warfare. The talk about firefighting etc. is just a smoke screen. DARPA is the main funder for these projects, and DARPA is not a charity or humanitarian organization
its a sad truth, but what would you suggest they do then? not develop it? yes the army will want to use whatever new tech that can give them an edge or changes the rules. but at some point this stuff WILL find its way into the more noble applications of which the designers dream.
its kind of the question though.. will this thing save more people than it will kill..?
you can't stop progress either way..
So true. Besides, what would two pair of legs that are hardly able to walk be able to achieve in a real burning building anyway, how does it deal with doors? If you need to deal with uneven terrain then drones are much, much better.
sephiroth x check out "Atlas" from Boston Dynamics... He could do the Job! Already one year before this cassie vid came out...
The internet you enjoy was originally developed for DoD. The food you eat with the preserve processes that go into it was developed for the military. The same.can be said for vehicles, planes, GPS, satellites, etc.. Get over your gay utopian mindset.
Military always thinks :) ummm it can walk... it can duck, it can run, it can do all that. awesome now add a machine gun and waaaa laaaaa
Just wondering if OSU has thought of using something like Cassie for those humans who have lost both legs and hip joints to be able to then walk again using Cassie or the like?????
That's cool, but Boston Dynamics has got you beat.
university vs government funded lab :)
Yee, go hide in bushes . Sloth is more faster than that blue machine of yours. it has no legs. how it beats Boston dynamics?
Boston Dynamics robots take a lot more energy to move than this does.
Matt Bruce agree but the the differences in design are not an equal match for comparrison. Boston could easily design a light weight biped walker but I belive they are developing for environment interaction vs only enviornment navagation.
+Jonathan Watson "university vs government funded lab"
Yeah, because universities are not state funded at all, lol
They out ta tirk er jurbs.
I ain't got no jerb it's can take mine won.
Am little curious to know that why are robotic legs bent backwards for example like in asimo does it provides any better mobility or technology is in it's infant satage to copy humanoid walking patterns exactly as it is
“Where’s our robot?”
“Oh it’s getting coffee.”
mean Boston Dynamics does great work, but is really amazing. Or rather it has my interest. People can joke about terminators, metal gears, and son on. But to see a robot with legs like these, walking on it's own, I can easily see a a future were we have a Jurassic Park with androids instead of clones and then some.
ultilinium8 have you not seen Atlas from BD???
Yes, yes I have. Atlas is more human in form while Cassie here is working with something more Avian and thus closer to the theropod form. I think (or hope ) the robot from BD you meant was Handle in which sure I could see what you mean by the bee in legs and arms.
Robocop, and terminator. Can you imagine hundreds of these things enforcing marshall law.
And Marshall Dillon will be reduced to sketching in martial arts class...
Uma pessoa sem as pernas poderia usar essa tecnologia?
this gives me hope thinking I might be able to drive an AT-ST one day.
for the people who miss leg day. THIC
Why are all the engineers cute
The camera adds 10 pounds of cuteness.
I do not deny that
L
FancyUnicorn Considering you called them engineers instead of saying "all the guys in the video", coupled with the thought that your probably female... I'd say it's because they are engineers.
because intelligence is beautiful cute
Hello, what is the name of this beautiful song please?
ok so how long before i can drive around in a mech?
Halflife 2 is here
We must stop this robot cruelty before they rise up!
We can't stop human cruelty so what hope is there? LoL
Jonathan Kehn Exactly
I for one, welcome our new electronic overlords.
I'm a freshman in an engineering program- how can I get a head start in learning to eventually work on projects like this one?
Change the that from Firefighter to Soldier and Person to Target 2:47
Reactor… online.
Sensors… online.
Weapons… online.
All systems nominal.
Really cool advancement but i never imagined we would be making a pair of walking legs only 😂🤣 but you have to start somewhere and all current fully bipedal walking robots are super top heavy so maybe this will help out if we work on just half of the problem at a time.
Amazing robot😍
