    Thank you for the review. I love the camo look and the compact size. There are two things that would make this generator perfect. It needs to be dual fuel and it needs the parallel ports. If they do that I will order two of them quick, fast, and in a hurry.

    I do like how much room is inside of it when you take the cover off, should be easy to work on it, instead of everything crammed in it; Lithium battery instead of SLA is a really nice touch.

    I really like the fact you can easily remove the silly spark arrestor w/o taking the back off if you're only running it around the house, and not have to deal with maintenance issues keeping it clean; of-course put all the parts in a zip-lock bag incase you need them later.

    I know this will probably sound stupid but I wish the CO detector had an off switch. I normally keep my generator in the back of my pickup when camping with the hard roll top bed cover almost fully closed. Just open enough to let out exhaust and air in. It keeps the sound down to almost nothing. I always try to be a considerate camper and not disturb other campers around me no matter what others are doing. That said, I really like this generator. Looking forward to the load test.

    Wow! Getting close to my worst-case scenario of what was formerly 6740 watts (covered by something using natural gas) so I was trying to figure out which open-frame inverter would work for me since the price diff for a full inverter was about a thousand bucks. But this makes me wonder if I am missing something just a tad larger than this that could cover 6k hooked to natural gas (thinking not)? I just replaced my old plasma 50" tv and dropped wattage from 350-450 watts every moment the old one was on to about 75-95 watts for a new QLED that is five inches larger, lol. I wouldn't need to build such a robust sound-reducing enclosure either, hmmm. Update: I just noticed the genmax 6000 with dual fuel, propane 4750 watts so natural gas a few hundred less at minimum, so still not really close enough.

    • @Rockrewls

    • @joey24698
      @joey24698 Рік тому +1

      you get those plugs so that you can access both L1 & L2 it doesn't mean you get 50 amps or even 30 amps, many many generators give you a 30 amp receptacle "style" but you don't get 30 amps just because the receptacle style can support that as max.. so to me the amp rating is not off and is in-line with other generators.

    • @joey24698
      @joey24698 Рік тому

      Quick example & there are plenty of others out there, take a look at the a-ipower 2300 gen it gives you a 30 amp receptacle style but you are not going to get any where near the full rating of that receptacle's max capability, look at the predator 2000 it has 120v 20 amp style receptacles, you're not even going to get 15 amps out of that gen, you could argue they should have used 15 amp style receptacles but they didn't.

    Great video Gavin, Amp rating is unclear on the website 20.9 running amps @ what voltage??? We can assume at 240v but that needs to be clear.
    If its 20.9 at 240V then it should be 41.8 amps running at 120V ?? Starting amps is 22.9 at ? volts, generator weight is 86lbs according to the website.

    • @GeneratorReviews

    • @joey24698
      @joey24698 Рік тому

      yes that would be correct @ 240v you get 20.9 amps & 41.8 amps on 120v, it should be clear if you think about it because otherwise it would be 41.8 amps @ 240v which for that size engine is simply impossible

    Something with 6250 in the name has a peak of 5500 seems misleading. I for one wish they would just put the rated capacity in the name because that's what's really important. A 20 amp electrical breaker will pass more current momentarily for starting a motor..... But it's rated capacity is 20 amp. We don't call it a 50 amp and try and mislead people..... Because there are codes and standards.
    Wheels always need to be big enough to roll on grass or dirt.... Unless it's a huge gen thats not really portable. Those wheels are ridiculous for something that's portable. However the 86 lb weight is somewhat of a game changer if you actually get 5,000 Watts. Obviously it has a small engine for its power output which is only 237 CC which is a fraction of the size most generators would be for this power. That will directly equate to shorter engine life. That may be a perfectly acceptable trade-off for somebody who uses it infrequently

    • @GeneratorReviews

      @@GeneratorReviews your grass is fairly manicured and a lot different from what my hunting camp looks like 😊. More or less it would be being dragged across the ground with those little wheels. But for the RV campers particularly those in paved campground spots it would work great. The lightweight is almost such that you could just carry it.

      @@duskyman1 True!! agreed 👍🏾

    • @joey24698
      @joey24698 Рік тому

      that remains to be seen if it means shorter engine life because they could have used a more efficient engine thus the reason for the higher price as opposed to a cheaper made larger engine to run it, so I think that is a completely unfair & un-proven statement; what kind of warranty does it have? I'd bet the same as the rest of gen's out there, so I'd bet the engine is more efficient than cheaper engines and will last just as long as the the rest.

    • @duskyman1
      @duskyman1 Рік тому

      @@joey24698 yeah I agree it's unproven. But when it comes to the torque of turning an engine driven device there's no replacement for displacement. The smaller engine will have to run higher RPMs all the time to deliver the same amount of power. Higher rpm, coupled with increase loads on smaller bearing surface areas means more rapid wear... Will most occasionally users ever see this..... Probably not. Chinese clone engines aren't the greatest engines to start with.....
      Your standard Honda clone GX200 6.5 horsepower engine that is the workhorse of many pumps, 3500 watt enerators, go karts, lawn mowers, etc..... Can produce more power. Go-kart racers install parts on them to produce up to 11 horsepower or more. Through trial and error there is a very defined way to increase the power and RPM on the engines safely in stages. But the life is extremely shortened by doing so. At 12 horsepower they may be looking at 1 race. The engine normally runs 3600 RPM, at 4200 you have to replace the flywheel with a more robust one because it will fly apart.... A different stages of rpm valve springs need to be beefed up in order to to keep up etc. This is only something like 4500 RPM I think.
      Anyway with every increase in speed of that engine there is a very definite decrease in life. These engines are not massively over designed or something. And Honda has about the best engine technology and skills that's why they are the ones that everybody has copied.
