"No tears, just dreams." - what a great motto for the mini channel where at least half of the builds have some hacking apart of dinosaurs, Grimm's visuals or Warhammer stuff!
When you were doing the dragonfly wings and asked for ideas on how to do it with more transparency, I was thinking a lot about how nail polish flowers are made! Basically, nail polish is viscous enough that it will create a membrane if you spread it over a gap the right way, and then you can let it dry that way. The common craft is to make cute little transparent flowers by making loops of wire as a frame, and then using the nail polish to fill it in to create the petals. I believe you can also do the same thing with certain kinds of glue? The result is just as transparent as whichever nail polish you use, and there's tons of fun iridescent polish colours as well so you might even be able to skip the step of painting it afterwards? That mesh you used for the dragonfly wings would probably work really well with that technique.
You could just "paint" it with mod podge. It dries into a clear rubbery material. Just put it on baking paper so it's easy to pick up. I made fairy wings for a skeleton with this method
There’s this thing called fairy or unicorn film, it’s transparent and perfect (with a little wire) for insect or bug like wigs. The best example I can think of is Dollightful, she uses it quite a few times especially her fairies Iggy (the footage was lost for Iggy so it’s most just pictures) and her older sister Amanita (which has a full tutorial on how to actually make the wings). Hope it helps
For the wings: you could try to dunk that mesh into water effect, that would dry as a clear 'film', then paint it with glazes/inks. I've used this technique for stained glass windows and the result was really good.
Maybe also include glamor shots where the lighting isnt messed with, cant see any of the colour detail in those final shots, while it looked great while you were working on it.
Okay, the insanely epic reveal shot music is so fitting. This was crazy to see some together! How do you make such cool things with PUTTY?!! Just in unbelievable talent!!! Rip (heh) the poor dino models. You were used for something much greater.
At this sort of scale, I’d recommend gluing unravelled red sewing thread to the eyeball for fine veins. Automatically generates convincingly quasi-randomised placement as the thread squirms on application and has a much more reliably consistent line weight than freehanding. This is actually how medical prosthetics artists apply veins to glass eyes (or at least it was circa 2007; I’ve not read up on the field recently)
For the dragonfly wings: unicorn skin? I've seen a lot of doll customizers use wire and a lighter to melt the skin around the frame and get some nice translucent insect wings.
Me thinking that I may have just been integrated into the Cult of Tzeentch... My Ork KT: (bonks me with a stikk) "Oh no ya don' ya git! Youz gonna give us dat paint job loik you promist!!!"
Love what you did with the hands making them curl up like that! The scarf/shawl was such a cool addition, all the various markings add so much to the story! Honestly there's just so many super great details in this, wonderful work, such a neat piece~
You’re curious about making insect wings try dollightful’s videos where she makes fairy dolls. She’s designed some beautiful dragonfly like wings for them. Articulated too. Maybe there’s some techniques you can borrow
This is disgustingly beautiful. 💚 Maybe experimenting with different glues, smaller amounts or thinning them down. Mod podge or varnishes? It still turned out great!
So for the transparent wings on the mesh, you could just use a thick glue. It will stay in the mesh long enough to harden and create this pretty transpaerent layer.
If you were to dip those wings in neat PVA glue it would form webs and dry semi clear. Ive used it for 15mm Jeep windows for WW2 willies jeeps. Then you can paint any colour over the top. Or wash it even. I made windscreen whiper marks. Its pretty durable.
So my sister used to make craft-style jewelry, and I seem to remember her dripping clear nail polish onto water to get a mostly transparent but iridescent "skin". Basically she was making an oil slick that that would harden, so you could take it off of the top of the water. If you could do that over a large enough surface, that would probably look very much like dragonfly wings.
So creepy! I made fairy wings for Tatle & Tael from Majora’s Mask using two layers of clear packing tape. Then painted the veins with white acrylic paint. The shimmery look was done with a pearl alcohol ink, to keep the transparent look. They turned out awesome, only thing I’d maybe change would be add a thin piece of floral wire around it or just the top for some structure.
I really like the insect wings. I think they are transparent enough for this application. I wonder if a different glue could change the effect to greater transparency. Maybe the stuff used to get wallpaper to stick. I remember using that one in kindergarten to create lanterns
For the wings to help return that iridescent reflective-ness, maybe try applying a layer of cellophane or a similar thin clear plastic kinda like what comes on the outside of some convenience type goods. Also yes we wacky Americans make a pretty big deal out of Halloween.
I really want to see more insane custom greater daemons. Imagine turning a Barbie into a Keeper of Secrets or an action figure into a Big Violent Khorne Dude
How horrifically wonderful! I use regular tissue (like for blowing your nose) and it comes out fairly transparent compared to the crafting/wrapping tissue. Might be worth experimenting with!
I'm terribly late for the party, i know. And i can't be bothered to read through all the comments to find out if your question concerning the transparency of the insect wings was addressed in some way. Yea i'm a terrible person. Well anyway, back in the day i used standard hobby glue. The transparent stuff.^^ No idea what products there are in Australia but in Germany there's _Uhu_ . You can thin it as much as you need and it remains transparent. edit: Having watched the entire vid, this is hands down one of the coolest things you've created so far. Absolutely on point.
Reminds me a bit of a concept for Vel'koz in League of Legends - basically a giant eye with a bunch of tentacles seeking for knowledge Just a bit more 'non-family-friendly' with a dose of grim darkness
Since I saw that first incision with the saw, I was thinking to myself "yeah, he's gonna cut himself, isn't he." Surprise bloody surprise - I never saw it coming in the very next scene :-D
This looks amazing!! , here´s a thougth, the rest of the dinosaur parts, what if you make them into cyberdinos? like putting 2 heads in a mech body, or a head in a tube (futurama like)
This thing kinda makes me think of Hunters from the Deathworlders. The big mouth, many limbs, etc.... The only difference is they have seven eyes and this guy is much bulkier. And let's hope that comment feeds the algorithm.
I think this mostly turned out great, thank you for the video! For the feather texture though, what I would do is make a press mould of the feather texture that was already there, use that to imprint on the new structure and then deepen the impression manually with a sculpting tool.
can we appreciate how the dinosaurs bleed when he saws them
They didn't appreciate it
Or at least I hope they didn’t appreciate it… We don’t need a masochistisaurus!
He's a little twisted in the Head. I love it!

Fairy film also works well for this! Although it wouldn’t be as thin as nail polish/glue
Dave! I’m so happy you decided to be a part of this collaboration 💙 But hey, your monster is going to give me nightmares…”No tears, just nightmares”
This feels like an armorcast model that was never released or something, really powerful oldhammer vibes. Super into it
You could just "paint" it with mod podge. It dries into a clear rubbery material. Just put it on baking paper so it's easy to pick up. I made fairy wings for a skeleton with this method
Ewwwwwwww, I love it
Hi miscast Well done uniteding most if not all of artists on the platform

love the mix of mediums and techniques... Dave is it?
The eye is everything I hoped for when I drew that card!!
Maybe also include glamor shots where the lighting isnt messed with, cant see any of the colour detail in those final shots, while it looked great while you were working on it.

I can’t believe how well those hands work with the overall build!! I looks crazy good 👍🏾 😁
Oh wow, just wow!
Those teeth are so great! Well done Dave.
Me thinking that I may have just been integrated into the Cult of Tzeentch...

Thankyou! Was lots of fun experimenting with different styles!
This is freaking amazing. I love that you were determined to include everything and still made him a part of your warhammer world. It’s gorgeous.
You’re curious about making insect wings try dollightful’s videos where she makes fairy dolls. She’s designed some beautiful dragonfly like wings for them. Articulated too. Maybe there’s some techniques you can borrow
Cool tip I learned recently. To get really realistic small blood vessels, you can use thin fibers of wool! Super cool and realistic looking.
6:52 sponsored segment ends.
Dave trying out every Chaos God before he commits to one in body and soul is the content I want to see continue into 2022
I don't think I can put the Slaanesh one on youtube
This is disgustingly beautiful. 💚 Maybe experimenting with different glues, smaller amounts or thinning them down. Mod podge or varnishes? It still turned out great!
It was very cool trying more craft techniques when I'm so used to miniature techniques for wargaming! Ill have to give them a shot
Those teeth are so horribly perfect, holy heck! Your monster ended up so alien and funky, I love it, I love its huge homunculus eyeball head
So for the transparent wings on the mesh, you could just use a thick glue. It will stay in the mesh long enough to harden and create this pretty transpaerent layer.
You don’t know how scared I was when I started watching you cut I to that Dino.
If you're doing more things like this in the future, may I suggest getting/using a dremel?
Absolutely mindblowing, I love how out-there it is, super gnarly!
If you were to dip those wings in neat PVA glue it would form webs and dry semi clear. Ive used it for 15mm Jeep windows for WW2 willies jeeps. Then you can paint any colour over the top. Or wash it even. I made windscreen whiper marks. Its pretty durable.

I love this. It has a a 80’s movie stop motion maquette feel to it. Something outa ghost busters or cone heads.
I love the new only miniature/creation theme of tabletop time
This model just got better and better as the video went on. I'm still amazed.
I really like the insect wings. I think they are transparent enough for this application. I wonder if a different glue could change the effect to greater transparency. Maybe the stuff used to get wallpaper to stick. I remember using that one in kindergarten to create lanterns
One way to get that transparency might be soaking varnish in
For the transparency - try watering down the PVA
4:28 using blood as a lubricant. Classic chaos technique.
Final reveal looks soo much as some of Spore creations, and it's dope, I love it!
For the wings to help return that iridescent reflective-ness, maybe try applying a layer of cellophane or a similar thin clear plastic kinda like what comes on the outside of some convenience type goods. Also yes we wacky Americans make a pretty big deal out of Halloween.
Bill staying in character during a zoom he knows will be used on every affiliated video is some chefs kiss commitment.
Me: I love chaos!
Me after seeing the converted dino: I can go without nightmares for a few years!
I really want to see more insane custom greater daemons. Imagine turning a Barbie into a Keeper of Secrets or an action figure into a Big Violent Khorne Dude
This is such an amazing work! Took a lot of effort to make. Home to see more custom builds!
Using question marks on your own channel was a really nice way to get us to look at everyone else’s name, very nice of u c:
How horrifically wonderful!
I use regular tissue (like for blowing your nose) and it comes out fairly transparent compared to the crafting/wrapping tissue. Might be worth experimenting with!
For those wings, look up tissue paper doping. It is a method used in model aircraft.
Im both highly disturbed and impressed at the same time….
I'm terribly late for the party, i know. And i can't be bothered to read through all the comments to find out if your question concerning the transparency of the insect wings was addressed in some way. Yea i'm a terrible person.

In Aus we just cant find the glue that everyone internationally uses for these amazing hobby purposes. UHU here just seems... different
Tzeentch is pleased by this sacrifice!
And now I am inspired XD
Love to see more unconvential daemon designs. Honestly chaos daemons need to be more varied and weirder looking that what we have currently
Cool idea dude. Tzeentch would be proud!
You could also use fairy film... it’s transparent and shiny.
That was a really inspired design! Loved watching the process ♡
The open superglue bottle on it's side relates to me so much
Now to kitbash 90+ horrors in the same way, go on, do it!
This turned out soooo good! I'm 1000% inspired to try the generator. As always you knocked this out of the park!!
Thier is a holographic transparent film people use to make fake opals that would work to make bug wings
Reminds me a bit of a concept for Vel'koz in League of Legends - basically a giant eye with a bunch of tentacles seeking for knowledge
Just a bit more 'non-family-friendly' with a dose of grim darkness
That description sounds like a beholder
Dude, you really could do with a dremmel. I felt your pain trying to cut that toy up with that blunt saw
“Excuse me this is going to get a little bit gross” oh yea GETTING & A LITTLE BIT makes sense like the big mouth or the bloodshot eyes wasn’t gross
Awww, he's perfectly ghoulish. *little monster heart emoji*
This is absolutely crazy! I wish I had your talent
Awrsome, it's almost a mix of a Nurgle spawn and a Guardian of Secrets
Crazy build! And I learned some new tricks too.
Very different from the last time I saw it! It's horrific and I love it
the eyelid detail...go gruesome...i love it.
Since I saw that first incision with the saw, I was thinking to myself "yeah, he's gonna cut himself, isn't he." Surprise bloody surprise - I never saw it coming in the very next scene :-D
This turned out so sick! Very cool Tze proxy 🥰
That thumbnail sucked me in straight away ngl. Amazing video! Loving the custom stuff

Holy shit a random fellow Deathworlders reader. Ink-to-the-Page
Yeah I am. Meat to the Maw!!!!!
Why does it give me a kind vibe to him
he kinda gives my fairy dragon vibes from HOMM3, in a grim dark future
Wow ! I'm impressed, it's awesome !
well that thing is going to give me nightmares.
I think this mostly turned out great, thank you for the video!
For the feather texture though, what I would do is make a press mould of the feather texture that was already there, use that to imprint on the new structure and then deepen the impression manually with a sculpting tool.
From the neck up it reminds me of Ocula from Small Soldiers.
i love the way he is suffering at cutting the leg
Great work man every bit of it looks amazing. Really original mate well done. 🙂👍
Regarding the wings, what about trying to adhere the tissue paper with resin?
Just a thought!?
Yay, more dino customisation ❤
I love this I love tzeentch
man those fingerprints on the wings hurt to see when the rest looked so good xD
I absolutely love tabletop time they make my day
That turned out so friggin cool. Great video, idk sorry!!!
Well done, Dave!
Dave this is awesome !!!! Hes amazing such a gooof and completely out there loove this
This was really cool.
I can't believe this started as a toy dino, it looks so wild!~ It's so gross, in all of the best ways.
This came out great
Very fun build!!
“The hand card I’d been dealt” !!!!!!!!!
💀☠️💀☠️
That monster is so creepy… I love it
he just keeps getting corrupted by chaos! i wonder if Khorne and Slanesh wil be next….
Highly disturbing. Well done. 👍
Tzeentch is happy with This 😄
