You see why he was so loved in his shows. He draws you in with him and you feel what he feels. It does that with me and I've never been to one of his shows.. make me feel his pain or happiness. Did you know that for a time Cissy Houston, Whitney's mother, sang with back up with Elvis with the Sweet Inspirations? I saw an interview on TV where Oprah interviewed Cissy, and she showed Cissy some gold bracelets Elvis gave her.

Yes, the first version of this song was done by the Righteous Brothers. Their recording was the most played song on the radio in the 20th century. Elvis' interpretation was totally different. To me, The Righteous Brothers hit a triple and then Elvis stepped up to bat and hit it out of the park.

Hi from Australia. My dad had a ticket for front row to see Elvis in Vegas. He had jet lag when he arrived in the States so he went to bed instead and said he would catch him next time. There was never a next time. My mum never forgave him for not going. 🥲 we had I can Dream playing at Dads funeral ❤️

No one had more voices in their arsenal than this man had. He sounded so different at the end of his life than his very young beginning and there is controversy as to when he was best. He could do things in the 50's that he couldn't do later but gained a depth and power later he didn't when he was very young. He could change his voice at will throughout his lifetime. Bill Medley (of the Righteous Brothers, original artists of Lovin Feeling) & Elvis were good friends. Bill tells of when they were both at the Vegas International, Elvis in the “big room”, Bill in the lounge. One night, as Bill was singing Lovin Feeling, Elvis & about 4 his guys casually strolled across the stage. He punched Bill in the arm, said “Hi Bill” & just kept walking. The crowed went nuts. Bill’s next show was packed, lines waiting to get in, of people hoping to see Elvis. Sure enough, Bill’s singing Lovin Feeling & here comes Elvis, now with about 18 guys, single file across the stage, each punched him in the arm, said “Hi Bill” & kept walking. After the crowed calmed down, Bill “deadpanned”, “I don’t know who he is, but he’s starting to piss me off.” Elvis heard & called to see if he was really bothered. Bill said “are you kidding me??!! My next show’s at 8:00. Could you be there, please?”

Lol When the line in this song is “I’ll get down on my knees for you” Did you hear him say (If The Suit Wasn’t To Tight) he has fun and will sometimes add his own little line in the lyrics

The smirk, the tiny smile over to the backups, was because he flubbed the line & they all knew it. Backstage he said he was very concerned about the lyrics & wasn't sure he'd get it right . And sho' nuf, there was a tiny mess up -- but master that he was, he just slid right through as if nothing happened. Many people don't pick up on it but if you listen real close, even slow it down you can recognize it.

No. Unchained Melody was written as an instrumental for a forgotten prison film called Unchained in 1955. It later gained lyrics, first with Les Baxter, and then Al Hibbler (the more famous lyrics) the same year. The Righteous Brothers didn't cover it until 1965. Most of the big hits weren't written by them either. Neither of these were.
