I’ve seen the movie twice. Austin Butler worked so hard on Elvis moves, voice etc he got a 12 minute standing ovation at Cannes. If you are going to see it in the theater, better do it in the next few days. It has been in theaters since June 24th. Many are saying Austin Butler deserves an academy award nomination.

It is the greatest tribute paid to Elvis Presley ever ! So, he was afraid he will be forgotten! He is not, he is here with us! And I believe that his spirit went in this young actor, Austin Butler! Watching the movie,I was thinking: " man, this is so close to Elvis image, like he is Elvis's son!"

I grew up in that era and Elvis WAS that big. I remember hearing my sister along with other girls crying when he got married, cause I guess they figured they'd never have a chance. Also, the concert, "Aloha From Hawaii" was the first concert sent around the world via satellite. A quarter of the world's population tuned in. !.5 billion people.watched that concert. If you were out shopping , dining, whatever, the general vibe was, you and many others were making it a thing to be sure to be home by 8 pm or whenever to be in front of the tv.
I'm guilty and have seen the movie about 4 to 5 times now 💀 It's a really great movie and i personally really enjoyed it!

@@joannemurdock7899 Wow!!..9 times? That’s great. I went back to the cinema to see it for a fourth time and I’m planning to go again soon to see it again before it comes out the cinema. It’s such a fantastic film and so good to watch on the big screen. Every time I watch it, it feels like the first time. I’ve never had that with any other film.
I have read many books seen many docs and behind the scenes of this man and this by far is the best interpretation I have seen yet. I was completely sceptical at first, but it blew me away. There are a few liberties with the truth for movie making of course, but man, this movie was on fire from start to finish. The entire cast was great, but Austin stood out for sure. I remember when I was a kid back in 1977, I distinctly remember that day when he passed. I was downstairs playing and I heard mom screaming so I ran upstairs and it took some time for her to calm down, but she eventually told me that Elvis had passed. I cried my eyes out too, but probably because my mama was crying, but I'll never forget that day. Please see the film.

I knew of Elvis and liked a few songs and decided to go see it by myself. I was blown away. It's phenomenal. I'm impatiently waiting for the 4k release.

First time I saw the trailer I cried. I just felt like "finally" someone is going to see where he came from and what really moved him to become who he was. I saw the movie and have bought the movie and I have watched it a couple of times now. Everytime I watch it I get more from it. Its a masterpiece of cinema and you cannot digest everything in just one viewing Im afraid. Oscar nominations and hopefully wins for this amazing film.
You hit the nail on the head. If you see the movie, the pressure he was under was unbelievable. He was very courageous because it was a time of segregation and he had to fight the establishment because of how he sang and danced and he was friends and was inspired by the black community & had always stuck up for them which made him more unpopular with the whites. Especially being from the conservative South at that time. It’s a great movie, musically, culturally and the acting is phenomenal. I’ve been an Elvis fan for yrs and I had to gasp a few times because I couldn’t tell Austin Butler from Elvis. Historically it’s mainly correct. They had to combine things that really happened together as if they happen together but that was because of time constraints. I don’t want to give too much away but see it at the theater on the big screen because it’s fast moving and a wonder on the big screen. You’ll enjoy it. I saw it 5X and will probably see it again possibly on the Anniversary of his death which is August 16th. Thanks for sharing this with us. Bless you guys.
Hi! I just got back from watching this for the first time and, can I just say, this might be the best movie I’ve seen in 4 years. I’m not over it yet. There are so many emotions flowing with my body, like I’m in a dream. I want to cry, laugh, scream. It was incredible. I don’t so what to do with myself other than invest myself further in the world of elvis. It would be great if you guys could react to interviews of the cast and influences for this amazing movie (I’m talking Austin Butler on James corden or Jimmy fallon, pricilla Presley, Lisa Marie Presley etc) I’ve taken a great interest in the making of this film. Anything to do with it would be great, honestly. I think a good one to start with would be pre production footage of Austin playing that’s alright mama (he sings and plays guitar in it - and this was before his 2 years of vocal training) Thank you very much and keep doing what you’re doing!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I couldn't have said it any better. Such a good movie. I've been obsessed with watching trailer reactions of it since (this was a great extended cut I'd never seen). Been watching a ton. I also agree with watching those other videos. There's a great one I just saw the other day where Baz is interviewing Elvis' best friend when they were kids down in Mississippi. Super interesting.

I'm a huge Elvis fan thank you so much the great reaction. There is a reason that he bcame the first superstar in the world. He had everything, the voice, talent charisma and of course he was the most handsome man i ever saw.
You really don't have to look very far to find some raw video of Elvis on stage 1954 to 1958 and yes, this is a pretty damn accurate depiction of audience reaction to Elvis performing.

Just saw the movie for the 8th time ... each time I saw it , I discovered something new ! Austin Butler and Tom Hanks both deserve Oscars for their roles ... a truly stunning movie !!
Even after Elvis died, the Colonel kept the cash register ringing, with no regard for the enormous impact Presley's music had had on the culture. The first RCA album after Elvis's death was "Elvis Sings For Children And Grownups Too!"
That album came one year after his death, and was a shambles. The first album after his death (after they released «Elvis in concert» soundtrack album), was «He walks beside me», consisting of mostly gospel/sacred music.
@@Machomannorway Okay, I stand corrected. That LP came out February 13, 1978; the kids' record in August. The gospel material, going back to 1966, had already been released. Elvis loved gospel, and recorded a large amount of it. Parker knew that there was a lot of money to be made in putting out old stuff over again. He insisted, also, that Presley's shows be recorded. There is still a large amount of Elvis material which has never come out, to this day.
I'm an Elvis fan for 50 years and to me this movie gives the most real view on his life. I love the way they are telling it from Tom Parker's perspective.

Born in 59 I grow up listening to ELVIS and he was my first Superstar and "Larger than Life" symbol and this movie is just amazing to watch.
Fantastic movie I’ve seen it twice & just as thrilled the 2nd time as the first Austin did a excellent job of playing Elvis he shows such emotion & charisma he had his every moves down to a tee! I will buy it when it comes out that’s how good it was! You need to see it in a theater with Dolby sound or IMAX to get the best experience!

Hello, I saw it twice. This man who played the role of Elvis Presley is like his Elvis Presley's spirit got into him to act and sing with his voice, it is inspiring to me, because Elvis Presley was not only a Rock and roll singer, he is very spiritual man with many Gospel song he sang. Michael Jackson and the rest of the pop singer and the rock and roll singer don't sing Gospel songs like Elvis. Please, look up for his Gospel song and listen. One of his favorite Gospel song is ' Precious Lord takes my hand. I love you guys for your love and respect for him. I grew up listening to his song and never get tired of it.

Elvis called his mother, Gladys, "Satnin'". She had a bit part in his second film, "Loving You". After she died in 1958, he refused to ever watch the movie again.
I've seen it 11 times and plan to see it again on big screen. Austin deserves an Oscar for best actor. Went to Nashville to the country music hall of fame and a tour of RCA Studio B. Still has the same checkered floor and Elvis's favorite piano. Austin also recorded his singing parts there. I didn't know who he was before seeing trailer, but he has a bright acting career ahead of him. I hope he can play Elvis again in something. Supposedly someone suggested to Priscilla on remaking "Elvis & Me" with Austin and Olivia. She replied "Stay tuned". Austin is currently filming "Dune 2" in Hungary, but nothing else lined up after that YET. Olivia's schedule is also open.

You MUST see this movie NOW, because it has about one more week before it leaves theaters and you will want to hear the music in Dolby sound. I was not a Elvis fan but became a huge Austin Butler fan in his portrayal of Elvis. The Presley family was blown away by his performance and this young actor, according to the family, morphed into Elvis. Austin spent 3 years in practical isolation to try to mesh his spirit with Elvis’ and worked on every detail to get it as close as possible, but getting to who Elvis the man was was his primary goal. The first connection was that both Elvis and Austin lost their moms and best friends at age 23,and Austin said because of that they were bound forever. You will love it!!!!

There is a reason that Elvis was loved from Oslo to Timbuktu, and around the world. Not because he «stole» black music (whatever that is), but because he was able to project human emotions, like no one else. Add to this a charisma that simply is/was frightening, a stage presence that made people from 8-80, men and women, every race you can think of, a voice that world famous opera singers was envious of, etc. oh, I forgot to mention that he opened the door for every musician born past 1950, incited a musical and cultural revolution that people do not comprehend, gave «black» music the chance to get played on every radio stadion you could think of. For this, he was labeled a racist (the claim is so ridiculous that I won’t bother to discuss it), was called «a corrupter of youth» by the white establishment in the segregated 50’s, «a guy who loved nigger music» (direct quote), was banned from radio stadions, got death threats, and was in the FBI files. After 23 years of giving everything he got, he was worn out, physically and mentally, got hooked, like millions of other Americans, on uppers and downers, got sick and bloated, ridiculed and called «a caricature of his former self». In 1977, the year he died, he was still one of the Top concert draws in the USA, performing at a pace that much younger performers and groups, never stood a chance on following. Now, 45 years after his death, when time simply stopped for countless millions of people, he may get some long overdue praise. He was a phenomenal, completely unique, interpreter of songs, generous to a fault, never hurting anyone, but himself. We really could use an Elvis in these crazy times that we live in.

Hi guys. I've always loved Elvis and I remember seing the Elvis live show from Hawaii via satelite on television. I live in Denmark. Also growing up listening to his music and seeing many of his movies on German tv. But yes you should watch this movie, I was blown away by Austin Butler as Elvis. Not many has really played Elvis, but he is fantastic as Elvis. After watching the movie it is still in my system, and I am for sure gonna buy the dvd when it comes out. Go see it in your movie theater before it's taken down. But keep in mind that the movie is very much about the relationship between Elvis and his manager Colonel Tom Parker.
There are two very good documentaries about Elvis. One is the Searcher and the other is Elvis and The Black Community, The Echo Never Dies. Great insights into what drive Elvis.

Actor who portrays Elvis, Austin Butler stated he spent 2 years to become Elvis by watching video clips of Elvis plus documentaries. Baz had private screenings of this movie at Graceland for Elvis' family and friends including his daughter, Lisa Marie, his granddaughter, Riley, and his ex, Priscilla. All of them gave a thumbs up for this movie and Austin's portrayal of their love. Lisa Marie watched it alone. Lisa Marie stated that she cried during the movie remembering her father. She stated that Austin should get a nomination for an Oscar and win it! Austin stated he learned how to talk like Elvis at periods of his life from his 20's to30's to 42 when Elvis died in 1977.
Both Priscilla & Lisa Marie approved the film. Austin Butler met them both while filming the movie.

Austin Butler immersed himself in everything Elvis, interviews, movies, songs, etc. He ate, slept, and breathed everything Ellvis for 2 years before he was even sure he'd be the one picked to do this movie.
His manager tom Parker literally ran E into the ground...I've seen the movie 3 times and have been a lifelong Elvis fan and am now 56...so glad your on this Elvis journey...don't listen to the haters and rumors, E was just simply the best in so many ways, love and miss him always ❤ and love your reactions 😊❤

The best part is that the movie was filmed in Queensland Australia, where I live, and there are some quality Australian actors in the movie (Elvis’ father for one).

A real Elvis fan doesn't really care for most of the movies about him because why would we when seeing the actual Elvis is option but Austin Butler absolutely nailed it. The only actor to portray Elvis that leaves the audience speechless, awestruck, and feeling so many things you almost can't take it which the essence of Elvis.
I would say that the best musical biographies have the actors doing their own singing, e. g., "Coal Miner's Daughter"; "Beyond The Sea"; and "Elvis". An exception would be "The Jolson Story", with Al himself providing the vocals for Larry Parks.
Shoot, saw it 5x and watching this 2 month old review makes me want to see it again!

You need to see the movie!! And in the theater. It was made to be seen in the theater. It is great movie. I've seen it multiple times. I think you have to see it at least twice to catch everything. There's a lot packed into this movie. Hint: they sneak quick clips of Elvis in occasionally. You have to watch fast!
I think what Austin Butler and overall this entire movie nailed about Elvis was that the bedazzled, rich rockstar persona was hiding a very lost, broken man being taken advantage of by a shyster. I've been to Graceland and walking through that house you learn that he had a hole inside of him that he never could fill and thats what this movie really nailed.
Exactly, there is no doubt for all the riches material possessions etc. and of course the birth of Lisa Marie whom he idolised, post the death of his mother and of course later on when Priscilla left him both events had an effect on him and he definitely harboured some mental trauma which, yeah on stage you wouldn't have thought it as of course once he was in front of an audience Elvis adored them, and the audience adored him back. There has been some criticism coming of the movie from his girlfriend after Priscilla slating it cause it doesn't show any part of her involvement in his life and how he was during that specific part of his life with her etc. and also criticism from family beyond Priscilla Lisa Marie etc. saying it portrays him too much of being unhappy but I think all in all it is overly harsh criticism. For me for starters it doesn't portray him as unhappy from beginning to end as said, it genuinely shows the profound effect certain events had on him, which they did. And secondly, as for his girlfriend after Priscilla that bit of his life etc. being omitted, thing is with what they did already pack in the final theatrical cinema release, it was already 2 hours 30 minutes plus. Now that isn't a complaint from me, both times I've seen it no way did that running time feel a drag but obviously terms of the cinema release Lurhman felt he just couldn't push it anymore to fit other elements of the story into it and so consequently, yeah that part of Elvis's life doesn't feature. Consequently there is at very end bit of a time jump from final scene to where ultimately ends and his sad death. But, unlike have got to Bohemian Rhapsody thankfully this movie doesn't mess with the Elvis timeline just to satisfy the editorial for running time purposes and just stick chunks together that in real life were not like that it. Instead remains faithful to the events in order they happened! Okay like any biopic the odd scene is more dramatic licence but - it is few and far between in this and is without doubt the best biopic of Elvis himself to come along in a long time, with a central performance of the man himself that is oscar worthy and might be for all time now the signature performance to refer to for its quality and authenticity.

Elvis was.caught up at time of segregation in America, so you can see in The Ghetto and I'd I can dream were political message songs.. No one wanted to sing in The Ghetto, but he said he will. He was a hated person by both whites n blacks in American. He done soo much to break the barriers down. but some without finding out about him are still hating him todate in America however The rest of the world loved n cherished him forever. it is October 2022 and The Legend is still loved n remembered. Amazing♥️

I loved hearing Michael Jackson saying how much he loved Elvis, and that he got a couple of his moves, from him---like the one where Michael stands on his shoed toes; even his Moonwalk had been done, before (both are here on YT)!!

I was blown away by Austin Butler's performance.. I've seen many movies that tried to impersonate Elvis.. Kurt Russell way back in the day came close.. but Austin.. wow.. he won the Golden Globe.. I've yet to see The Whale.. I truly hope it was a better performance.. not just Brendan Fraser gaining a lot of weight for the role.. Because Austin Butler personified Elvis.. I'm still in awe that he was singing..
I used to be a Elvis impersonator in Las Vegas I'm in the movie 3000 miles to grace land they did what we call a pan shot from my boots to my head I'm in the casino seen.
Had to watch it 3 times as it’s so fast paced I missed so much
you might like parts 1 and 2 of .....'Elvis and the Black community'..............eye opener to how WELL RECEIVED by black artist he was.

Film is good. Butler has the voice down pat. Yet Elvis was also deeply conventional in what was important to him. The movie doesn't show Ed Sullivan telling the nation that E. was a "good boy". And he was. Early on, he realized, with or without Colonel Parker's advice (and the man was a bloodsucking leech), that he would have to appeal to a mainstream audience, as well as rock and rollers. "Love Me Tender" and "It's Now or Never", each based on old melodies, and other hits as well, are not rock.
hard to put 42 years in a 2 hour movie... hopefully they will follow it up with something... Baz has said he has a 4 hour tape besides this... so there's hope :D
I was a fan b4 his death. He died when I was 20, almost 21, and my mom was a fan. One InitIal trailer turned me off to the movie. So much was portrayed wrong in the early Memphis concert b4 he went into the military. And they even tell you if you google it. They lumped a lot into that one concert that made him look like he defied the law; he didn’t, and his moves were intentionally sedatious ; they were not, and the song - I’m evil was a Character in King Creole For James Dean, and not part of his own character in life as they make it look in the Memphis concert. And he didn’t sing it there. These things did not happen or ones that did happen but not together. They lumped them into one to make him look rebellious and sinful.
But after seeing this trailer You played, I may watch the movie. Thank you Wolf Hunterz for sharing.
I think they redid the initial trailer as they may have gotten a lot of bad feed back.. don’t know but this one is different. I’m sure the movie still mis portrays that early Memphis concert, ending in him being arrested and his parents hauled off for protection. That didn’t happen either. That concert was pre Priscilla and Lisa Marie, they were not around then to add input on that concert and events for correction. . I’m sure that’s why it was all crammed into that concert b4 his military duty. Which is when he met Pricilla in Germany where her father was stationed. .
I have subscribed not to long ago and I have been waiting for you guys to react to this! Great reaction, and when you guys see the movie you will get major goose bumps because Austin Butler did an amazing job as Elvis. (He’s the best actor to ever portray him in my opinion) but you guys should react to the Elvis trailer #2 when you guys get a chance (it gives you a lot more!)

Austin Butler did a good job. Tom Hanks used a wierd accent that didn't sound like Tom Parker. Other than Hanks, it was a pretty good movie.
