I just tried some of this I bought frozen in the US at a local Asian market. I was expecting more dramatic funk smells and tastes honestly. Although I did read this was the mildest in aroma and taste of the durian, so good for a first try. I kinda liked it, although it was like an odd combination of a mild creamy mango flavor mixed with raw onions. But I was prepared for that sweet and savory combo and the custard texture, so I wasn't surprised like some are on the first tasting. Definitely willing to give it another go, and wish I could try it fresh!

The durian that you eat is crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. That is the best flavor. You are very lucky to have it.😊😊😊

I second the idea of trying Musang King. Especially if you like the Monthong fine, but were really hoping for something with a little more 'funk.' That's what the Musang is best at 😉

Zac Zain I think Musang king is more hard for who just try durian in the 1st time, should be durian lover. Mornthong will easier for people who never eat durian before, it's ripe in crunchy texture outside and tender inside.

@@keepintouchthailand9983 agree. For a beginner, Thai Durian will be a good start.

Zac Zain So I am a beginner ever for Mornthong durian more than 35 years (I am 41 years) 😊 I don't like Chanee, Kanyao and Musang king too. Mornthong become my favorite since I knew I love durian. I think almost Thai people like Mornthong too. It's best seller in Thailand, almost of us are durian lover, I will hear almost buyers said they want crunchy outside and creamy inside. That may be our Thai favorite taste 😌, I think durian it's about own preference if too advance durian type, the person may become hate durian ever. It's really hard for beginner and may hard for the countries who not have durian experience. The best of me, may not the best for them.I think we can't say which one is the best in the world from our own taste. It's looks marketing and cheer own products.
