Its always satisfying seeing your videos. Good job. I want to ask for your opinion as a pro bike mechanic though.. should i get a headset press to replace my headset? I dont know of any bike shop in my area that does that service. I also dont know whats the difference between a threadless and threaded headset. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your comment. It seems to me that for personal use, not in a workshop, such a tool would be redundant. You can use home-made devices. The threaded headset is an outdated technology that can still be found on cheap bicycles. If you see a large nut and a solid thin extension comes out of it, instead of the top of the fork with spacer rings, then this is a threaded headset
Salve galera!
Shots like 5:03 always make me laugh, somewhere there is a workshop with jars of cones, they are impossible to find in this part of the world. Bike shops here just want to sell new bikes and not maintain old ones.
At a certain level of salaries, it really becomes unprofitable to repair, as the work will cost more than a new part. It still makes sense to service bushings, as spokes or a new wheel is known to be more expensive👍
I don't know why you choose to use water to clean your parts. There's a chance you could promote rusting. I would use a brake cleaner or parts cleaner.
So many people putting up very bad mechanics videos. This is one of them! Wrong type of grease, magnetising old ball bearing and re-using them, seals not straight, incorrect method of tightening cones, cones set too loose, i could go on.
this is a wheel for a mtb bike)) if you use a lower viscosity grease, in such bushings, where the dust cover is of low quality, the result will be bad. grease will leak out, namely onto the brake disc))
Sztos. Komentarz dla powiększenia zasięgów. Rewelacja.
Very nice. In Japan , Chinese rim brake wheels are cheeper than repair hubs. So I replace old wheels , when rims are dead also hubs are dead.
Yes, sometimes it is easier to replace the entire wheel than to repair the hub😊
Immer sehr entspannend. Fast wie Meditation! Danke

Hello. I have a query. At minute 2:17, what is the name of what is connected to the nozzle of the hose you use? Thank you very much in advance

@@NiceBikeService thank you very much. I really want to change my headset to a sealed cartridge one.
LMAO I was literally done with my hub overhauling as your video came out!
Btw what syringe are you using for the grease application ?
Thanks for watching. For grease we use a regular syringe from the pharmacy but with a nozzle for flux or glue (can be found in hardware stores).
Thank you for the video. Do most road bikes have 9 ball bearings on each side ? 2013 giant rim brake road wheel. thanks
Thank you for your feedback! 😘 Yes, most entry-level and mid-level bikes will have 9*2 balls in the rear wheel hub
@@NiceBikeService Thank you so much for your answer, Now to get down on the floor and start looking for the missing one,, lol
nice work bro 👍👍

these hubs initially have holes in the tracks because they are the cheapest
thank you for your comment! 😘
Does anyone else find it ironic that a hub supports a disc brake but is still cup and cone with a freewheel cassette?
In recent years, many cheap bikes have been produced with this combination😁
awesome job!
Thanks!
Excelente servicio, saludos desde Venezuela..
Do not reuse old bearing my friend 😳😳🚴♂️
the cone was replaced on one side. that's the side I replaced the bearings on. the other side, the bearings were good, so I left them
I agree , given the effort of disassembly and cleaning .
No lock tight on the disc bolts?
The bolts are tight, just not on this video😉
@@NiceBikeServiceThe bolts need a locking compound. Middle grade, blue (Loctite is just one brand). It needs to be reapplied before assembly.

Merci beaucoup.

It is hard to get the cone😢
Oh, yeah. It can also be individualized in each bushing

this is gasoline
in my case, the cup of one side of the hub went inside the hub😢
You may have to change the whole hub
Sometimes its complicated when it is a cheap one.😂
At least for these cheap hubs, you can find consumables👍
seal bearing is a must for modern bike

Love the camera 📷 work, must take a long time editing etc 👍
thank you! yes it takes a lot of time, in several stages
This grease has a high base oil viscosity and is not suitable for wheel bearings of high performance road bike. Please keep it in mind

@NiceBikeService You are right, i just wanted to make sure that you don't use Shimano grease for road bikes)
