    Very nice. In Japan , Chinese rim brake wheels are cheeper than repair hubs. So I replace old wheels , when rims are dead also hubs are dead.

      Yes, sometimes it is easier to replace the entire wheel than to repair the hub😊

    Its always satisfying seeing your videos. Good job. I want to ask for your opinion as a pro bike mechanic though.. should i get a headset press to replace my headset? I dont know of any bike shop in my area that does that service. I also dont know whats the difference between a threadless and threaded headset. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    • @NiceBikeService
      @NiceBikeService  Місяць тому

      Thank you for your comment. It seems to me that for personal use, not in a workshop, such a tool would be redundant. You can use home-made devices. The threaded headset is an outdated technology that can still be found on cheap bicycles. If you see a large nut and a solid thin extension comes out of it, instead of the top of the fork with spacer rings, then this is a threaded headset

    LMAO I was literally done with my hub overhauling as your video came out!
    Btw what syringe are you using for the grease application ?

    • @NiceBikeService
      @NiceBikeService  Місяць тому

      Thanks for watching. For grease we use a regular syringe from the pharmacy but with a nozzle for flux or glue (can be found in hardware stores).

    Shots like 5:03 always make me laugh, somewhere there is a workshop with jars of cones, they are impossible to find in this part of the world. Bike shops here just want to sell new bikes and not maintain old ones.

    • @NiceBikeService
      @NiceBikeService  Місяць тому +1

      At a certain level of salaries, it really becomes unprofitable to repair, as the work will cost more than a new part. It still makes sense to service bushings, as spokes or a new wheel is known to be more expensive👍

    So many people putting up very bad mechanics videos. This is one of them!
    Wrong type of grease, magnetising old ball bearing and re-using them, seals not straight, incorrect method of tightening cones, cones set too loose, i could go on.
